Constraining a picture?

I'm trying to make a wiki-style factbook of my own (http://www.nationstates.net/nation=hiskjriaana/detail=factbook/id=main), but for some reason my map is turning out gigantic (my flag is also considerably larger than I want it to be, but it's not nearly as bad as my map). Is there any way I could make it a bit smaller?

Would the resolution go down though? Because the resolution is already pretty bad, I can barely read Oðjenvik.

All of the images I have on my Factbook are saved to my computer in their original resolution and then uploaded to Imgur. From there, I re-size as neccessary and occasionally this does result is a loss of clarity but it really depends on how far down I'm scaling the image.

Yeah. My only other suggestion is to zoom in to the large picture of the full regional map and then take a screenshot of your nation and resize as appropriate. You may need to resize before you put the city names on.
