iPhone 5c Advice

Hola,

I am off to the USA with my iPhone 5c. I am currently on a UK monthly contract which charges through the nose for data, calls and texts while abroad.

I want to set up my phone so that:

*I can use WiFi where I can find it free.
*I can use Bluetooth (music is my first love, and it will be my last)
*I CANNOT receive of send texts.
*I cannot receive calls.
*Apps do not update, download, or do any other weird crap on 3G or 4G.

Any ideas on what I should set my phone to?

I can't help with the iPhone, but while touring with family members who may become separated, texts and calls are certainly handy. You may want to consider purchasing a cheap disposable phone with pre-paid minutes.

Have you contacted your current provider and talked to them about roaming, plus what options you have?

When I went overseas I just set mobile data and data roaming to off. You can still connect to wifi and use Bluetooth but you won't receive any calls or the like while you are overseas.

Your network should just display as searching, but it is still better to be turn mobile data and the like off just to be safe.
