Some concerns have been raised about RP, and since most (all?) of the admins are not really hardcore RP enthusiasts, I thought it would be good to get the sense of those of you that actually use the forum.

There's a couple of concerns
  1. Usage. Some of the forums that have been created have very little usage in them. This also goes along with the idea that there are just too many forums there.
    3 main Examples:
    • Factbook Gallery: Is there a reason the NS pages for factbooks is not good enough?
    • Application Center: Why can't the application thread be in the general forum and pinned?
    • Voting Chambers: I recognize this is new, but if there's not actually restricted access, why can't it be part of the Peace Council forum with a pretitle of "VOTE:" added when there are actual votes?
  2. Naming: The DU forums are all prefaced by DU or the full title, I would like to motion that the NPTO forums also have that designation. The titles of the forums are very similar to those used for *actual* TNP governmental decisions and I'd like to avoid any confusion.
  3. Archiving: Is there a policy agreed on by the RP moderators/governmental officials in charge of that section for when to archive threads?
  4. Masking: Why do RP forums need specific masks? If people violate the "you are not wanted here" then you can report them and moderators can deal with them.

I was not aware of the process we would adopt for Applications for NPTO, so yes, that could be deleted (after moving the thread, of course). I also think Voting Chambers can be deleted for Peace Council. And yes, NPTO should have pretitles. I'm content with just having the NPTO group and keeping the masking with that and the Voting Chambers, but that is all that should be restricted. I believe that is all of the concerns presented.

As far as I know, there is not. Also I believe there is only one RP Moderator, and that is Lord Lore.

Along with the concerns raised here, I think there's a need for a discussion on reworking just what subforums there are - and why we don't use the top level RP forum.

What I'd like (and obviously I'm open for feedback and tweaking etc):
  • Factbook Gallery - rename to Factbooks - move the contents factbook stories there
  • National RolePlay - keep as is but maybe rename?
  • Diplomacy - Keep name, but have Negotiations RPs in the top level subforum. Get rid of Negotiations, keep Embassy Exchange, review subforums for DU and NPTO
  • Econ and Trade - Keep name and subforum
  • Drafting Plane - Rename to something that emphasises its OOC nature. Maybe make a subforum for OOC topics? Ministry of Entertainment subforum?
  • Map - Keep as is.
  • Character Roleplay - Remove. Have Character RPs in the top level RP forum, OOC topics in the OOC forum.

1) applications moved around
2) NPTO added to the forums, but I just noticed, there are 2 voting chambers. Having no clue what you guys are doing, can the peace council votes be put into the other one? Nothing seems to be secret in terms of masking, so 1 consolidated voting place would be more reasonable...

Nierr, while there may only be 1 overall RP mods, different people are specific mods in different areas. Which makes it a bit harder to know who can make legit requests about changing things.
