Grand Hibernal Ballroom
Beier Manor
West Pigletville, GU

The king strolled into the Grand Hibernal Ballroom with pride as he talked to his pregnant wife, Abigail. "I want to bring Pigletville back to its former state as capital city of Guslantis, and I believe this ballroom shall be the perfect place to welcome back the nation's true capital," he said confidently. The two heard footsteps as General Akerman entered the room with official Guslant bodyguards. "It only is fair, sir, to split Pigletville here and join Pigletville here," she said, alluding to the fact that the War split the capital in the first place. "Of course, as usual, my men have everything in this ballroom secure...," the General paused quickly, glancing for only a second at the grand chandelier at the center of the ballroom's ceiling. Almost everything, she thought, but that large chandelier. "We shall keep the place secure and shall keep all guests safe," she assured the monarchs one more time that everything was under control. That's not how she felt, however, and she was quite nervous. "So, what's on the menu?" she asked, changing the subject. "Lasagna, sushi, smoked ham, fried chicken, and veggie burgers," said the Queen, as though she had studied the chef's menu very carefully. "Though I believe Baldwin would pay the chef extra to cook something else if the guest desired, and each would come with four additional courses, I believe he said," she continued. "Who are you bringing to the ball?" asked Hilley, jokingly. "My gun," Akerman replied back firmly.

Augustus Town, GU

Leah was curling her hair for the ball when Minister Hall knocked on the door. "Who is it?!" she asked, quite curiously, knowing he had already gone through the gate security. "It's Kyle," said Hall in a tone Leah had never heard before, a soft tone that did not frighten her or intimidate her. She placed down the curling iron and proceeded to the door. When she opened it, Kyle's mouth dropped. Instead of wearing her usual blue outfit, Leah was now wearing a red ballgown and had curled her hair. "My eyes are up here, Kyle," she said in a firmer tone, as the Minister tried to gain his own words. "Didya come here for a reason?" she asked, knowing he wasn't here on behalf of his snobbish ministry. "I'm here to protect you as you make your way to the second Pigletville Ball," he said with a smile. "Oh really? Okay then, let's go," she said, grabbing her keys and proceeding to her car. As she passed by Hall, she leaned forward and kissed him on the cheek, "Thank you, Minister, you are quite a nice man," she continued. Hook-line-and-sinker. "L-l-l-Leah, please, let us take my personal helicopter, let me escort you to the ball, let me be your date," he said, quite clumsily. "Don't fret, Mr. General, I'll be happy to, just please remember I am armed," she said jokingly as the two walked toward the helicopter.

The Second Pigletville Ball!

An occasion to celebrate the reunion of Pigletville. Hosted in Beier Manor, children are welcome, but guests who appear under 21 will be asked for an ID in order to be served alcoholic drinks. Any person under 21 may not legally be served alcohol in Guslantis, regardless of the practices in their home nations. Lasagna, sushi, smoked ham, fried chicken, and veggie burgers are the main entrees of this ball, however, the chef may take special requests at the discretion of the Minister of Finance, Greg Baldwin. Please give the Associate Minister, Ayuda, at least a flights notice before arrival, and he will clear you with the Ministry of Defense.

Syrixia will most definitely be sending a delegation to Guslantis, a longtime ally and NPTO member as Syrixia is. Syrixia is very happy to see the reunification of Pigletville and will be sending Prime Minister Alfred Nursson, Pigletville Ball veteran and Deputy Prime Minister John Sirus, as well as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Culture Shaw Atlas. All three will also be taking their wives; Margaret, Patricia, and Lenora, and a team of 10 security guards.

The Niemza Royal Dynasty of the Kannexan Empire will send 19-year-old Prince Reinhard, grandson of HM Kaiser Franz. He will be accompanied by two of our diplomatic staff. Prince Reinhard is the oldest son of Prince Christian, the youngest son of Kaiser Franz.

The Khan would very much like to attend the Ball, we would like to request berthing for the AWV Hyperion, serving as the Khan's flagship and transport. The Khan will be accompanied by Grand Legate Shera Goltah as his personal bodyguard. Regretfully the Khans wife, Princess Andrea, will not be in attendance for health reasons.

In the Thomas Building, Ayuda was working hard on his home monitor to ensure everything requested was done. He was currently in contact with both Akerman and Baldwin via radio telling them of the guests. "The Syrixian delegation has a total of six civilians and ten security guards, the Kannexan delegation will consist of a sole Prince and two diplomatic staff, let's keep that in mind during the ball, shall we, Akerman? The Khan will be reserved a spot in our harbor, right to the Guslant Gold, reserving a driver to escort him to Beier Manor. The delegation of Cronaal will be bringing seven delegates, almost all of whom are royals, so please, keep them safe," Ayuda said, scrolling through the monitor so quickly that an average human couldn't keep up. "Any other way I can assist you, Ministers?"

Grand Hibernal Ballroom

West Pigletville, GU

As Akerman walked across the ballroom floor, it began to light up. The majority of the floor was red, and had the words "West Pigletville" on it, while the minority was blue and had the words "East Pigletville" written on it. How could one city be divided like this? How could one ballroom be in two cities? She was very glad that she was here to see her city rejoin. As she heard Ayuda in her ear, she suddenly got a most horrifying memory.

Guslantis War Room
Unmarked Building
Pigletville, GU
(One year, six months earlier)

In the Guslantis war room, President Hilley and the Guslantis Armed Forces generals, including General Akerman sat and watch the attack of Zemnaya Svoboda unfold. Suddenly, an officer ran in the war room. "Sir, the Guslantis Air Force is beginning its attack" said the officer to President Hilley. "Of course, can you get us in contact with the commanding Air Force officer?" responded President Hilley. "Of course" said the officer. Over Zemnaya Svoboda, Captain Johnson flew his huge squadron of bombers toward their destination. "Captain, come in, this is President Hilley, status report" said President Hilley over the radio. "We are almost ready for attack." said the captain back. Suddenly, behind the captain, a bomber exploded. "Sir, they are firing on us!" yelled the captain. Back in the war room, the highest ranking generals from the five branches of the Guslantis Armed Forces watched the electronic map. The rest of the generals left the war room leaving the five generals and President Hilley. The five watched and did not take their eyes off of the map. General Emily Akerman, general of The Guslantis Army. General Jennifer Bjorn, general of The Guslantis Marine Corps. Admiral Mike Daly, fleet admiral of The Guslantis Navy. General Jeff Eubanks, general of The Guslantis Air Force. Admiral Spencer Greer, admiral of The Guslantis Coast Guard. As the five watched, they heard airmen screaming as their planes went down. "Send in the reinforcements" ordered General Akerman. By nightfall in Zemnaya Svoboda, the Armed Forces had regained a lot of land. However, Zemnaya Svoboda forces refused to give up. After days of fighting, President Hilley issued a letter directly to Zemnaya Svoboda, and to the rest of The North Pacific.

(Present day)

It had not crossed her mind until this day that one year and six months ago, the great nation that she loved suffered the worse loss in all of its history and surrendered to the forces exact to this day. And she was its leading commander. She sat down, with Ayuda still talking in her ear as she felt the weight of the war on her shoulders. She had caused one of the most detrimental situations ever, and now they were hosting a ball to bring Pigletville back into glory. All she could think of was this horrid memory, but knew she had to plan this ball. "No further assistance is required, Ayuda, thank you," she said, standing up, ready for the guests to arrive.

Sebt stop in his cabin, admiring the Guslant Gold as he adjusted his gloves. The Wolvesh dress uniform was something he rarely wore. A pair of riding boots and cavalry breeches gave away the history of the uniform as being derived from 18th Century Wolvesh attire, a basic polo-style shirt with a high upturned collar adorned with a silver Gorget to conceal the two buttons. He pulled on the long, almost vestment-like coat, keeping it open to display his empty sword belt, leaving his scimitar and scabbard by his bunk. At his wrist were the rank insignia of an Air Service Major, the rank he held prior to his becoming Khan. Shera, already fully dressed, her coat merely Knee-length, stood ready, her coat closed however, as they made their way off the sleek, black-hulled vessel. The Hyperion was an intimidating vessel but so far she had only been assigned Diplomatic duties, one of her core purposes. Sebt smiled as the car pulled up, thanking the driver as the two Wolvesh climbed inside before setting off.

Sebt carried a rosewood box, an intricate silver inlay adorning it's lid along with a droplet of polished Dragonstone set in the centre, the master craftsmen of the palace armoury had outdone themselves yet again. He smiled as the car drove on, eager to see the splendor of the ball.

Office of President of The Cascadian Commonwealth

Associate Minister Ayuda;

Firstly, I send King Hunter Hilley and Queen Abigail my highest regards and congratulate them on their future child. And secondly, I wish to let you know in advance that I will attend the Second Pigletville Ball. I will be accompanied by my 12-year-old son, Jackson Archer, and First Lady Susan Archer. I hope that in attending this Ball to celebrate the reunion of Pigletville, I can strengthen the already sturdy ties between my country and The Monarchy of Guslantis. Please understand, though, that it is not often that I get to vacation, and the Cascadian Minister of Defence has advised that I bring along with me a small team of personal guards for me and my family. About six guards, distributed evenly between the three of us, will accompany us. I hope this is not a problem, and I do not doubt that your nation's security forces will do an excellent job of protecting the guests of the Ball.

Kind regards,

President Ethan Archer

Sadakoyama would be interested in sending a delegation of two official representatives (with three escorts each) to this event.

We would also be interested in sending a film crew of five to document the occasion, with a view to including such as part of a documentary on monarchical practices for distribution on Sadakhan entertainment media channels.

It had been approximately one and a half weeks since the Rhuvanland negotiations had ended. What would possibly be the year's craziest political fiasco was over, but with elections around the corner and now this Ball, the stress was not gone. However, the delegation was ready. After a brief session of attendance checks by the Prime Minister, the delegation entered the Syrixian Star and took off for Pigletville. Prime Minister Alfred Nursson would be new to the Pigletville Ball experience, but his Deputy, John Sirus, was a former PM himself and knew the city well. He would be the Prime Minister's unofficial Pigletville tour guide. Hopefully this part there wouldn't be terrorists kidnapping children and intense, fiery battles requiring military forces to be called. The War was long over. Both Nursson and Sirus knew this well, as they had played a part in its conclusion. This time, there would be no conflict; just dancing, fun, speeches, conversations, and sweet, sweet beer...

The Kaltian Estate will be sending Councillor of Culture Ardelle Engstrom along with Kaiwhakawa o Te Wairua Moseya to attend The Second Pigletville Ball. As this will be the first international function attended by a Kaiwhakawa of Tir na Andalucia following its new status as a Protectorate of Kalti, Councillor Engstrom will act as the sole official representative for the Confederation of Kalti.

(OOC: Oh darn it all, I forgot. Agnes Liesel of East Rhuvanland is coming too.)

"Queen, you seem unwell. Your expression is as desolate as a desolate and your skin seems so pale." Joseph Easbourne, the Royal Bodyguard, exclaimed hoping for an answer from his Queen, the most noble of all people he'd met prior. He sighed as thoughts of possible scenarios ran through his head where he'd need to protect the family and his nation's dignity, the royal family didn't seem to care much though. They assumed they'd be fine.
"Please Joseph, you need to worry less about me and enjoy the visit. I'm fine, just worried a little, it's my first international event during my short rule of 4 years." Diana replied, she'd done nothing significant besides privately denouncing Syrixia's actions based around Rhuvanland. Her husband, before her stepped down and passed his rule to her, had done little as well, Cronaal was insignificant but peaceful and capable. The way it wanted to be.
Thunder.
"I didn't think of this event like that, every leader has had to experience the nerves and fear of their first audience with foreign powers. I'm sure they'll love you and your family" Joseph smiled as he said this, trying to encourage Diana as they both sat at a small table, staring into the dark skies with colossal spikes of electricity lighting it up every so often. It was mesmerizing, the beauty of the varied grey and black which could, at any moment, light up into a blinding plane of light and beauty all caused by something so terrifying and dark; a bad omen. Both Joseph and Diana, thinking of the joy they'd have these next few days.
Rydia and Elysia ran through the isle past Joseph and Diana's small 'cubicle' area into the next cabin, they were playing just as children should.

"Oh girls, do calm down, some of us are trying to get some rest before the event." Harold politely asked of them as he walked down the same isle the children ran, he furrowed his brow. Harold then sighed and continued to walk slowly down the isle, holding a single crutch with a damaged foot. Jean, Diana's mother, then took a step out of another 'cubicle'.
"Harold, you shouldn't walk for reasons as petty as this, your foot could get worse!", Jean began to fuss over Harold as she quickly walked around him, examining him and making sure he wasn't hurt anywhere. She then proceeded to hold his arm and slowly attempt to help him back to his seat in the other cabin.
"Jean, you don't have to fuss so much!" Harold complained. She stared him in the eyes, sighed and then continued to help him to his cabin. She truly cared but it sometimes was not appreciated by her family despite this, she always persisted and did as much as she could.

King Christian III, his wife, Queen Mia, and their daughter, Princess Elizabeth, along with Prime Minister Adam Reitano, are all wishing to attend the ball. They will be accompanied by seven members of security, and will arrive by HMS Diamond. They also give their best wishes to Queen Abigail.

Shera kept her eye on the Khan, hawk-like as she maintained a stoic expression. Sebt had only really interacted with other World Leaders across a negotiation table, never in a social setting such as this. She had had to remind him they would have to be unarmed due to the Wolvesh tradition of wearing ceremonial swords at such functions. Even with their membership of both the NPTO and the Faibuaizu alliance they were still an enigmatic people to their neighbours. She hoped they would not have to explain the absence of the Khan's wife Princess Andrea, after all her condition had only just been publicly announced. Sent looked jovial, despite wishing Andrea could be at his side. He held the box tightly, watching the beautiful, restored architecture of Pigletville roll past "We really should organise a gathering of our own Shera. Invite our neighbours, expose ourselves a little more..." He smiled, prompting Shera to sigh "Sebt, we've only just opened ourselves to the outside world, I've been your friend long before you were my Khan, just... If you do that be sure to be mindful of tonight..." Noting Sebt's acknoledgement of her advice as they approached their destination.

Leah Charles, ecstatic about the party, arrived just in time as the party in the mansion began. Music was blaring and Ayuda greeted her at the door, projected in his human form in a dashing suit. "Welcome Duchess, you are of the many projected to arrive," he said with a smile. "Come Ministers, right this way," he beckoned, leading her and Hall toward the monarchs. Queen Hilley was holding her firstborn in her arms. The five month old girl stared at Leah with curiosity, and began to reach for her. "Good evening Charles," said Abigail with a smile. "Good evening Hilley," she wanted to respond back, but even though Abigail showed no care for titles, she would. "Good evening, your Royal Highness," she said, bowing before Abigail. "I can't wait for the guests to arrive!" said Hunter, the most enthusiastic of them all. "Who else is coming Ayuda?" asked Abigail as Ayuda cocked his head. "Checking data source...," he began, checking the arrivals.

Cabinet Room
Capitol Building
Pigletville, GU
(One year, six months ago)

President Hilley sat in his office, staring over the treaty written at the Modino Maro conference. "The Russian Republic affirms and the Democracy of Guslantis accepts the responsibility of Guslantis for causing all the loss and damage to which the Russian Republic and its nationals have been subjected as a consequence of the war imposed upon them by the aggression of Guslantis," he said with shame, looking over it with a sense of doubt. A man and a woman walked into the cabinet room, and he looked up at them. "Minister Ivan, it is good to see you," Hilley said with a smile. "Who is this?" he asked, looking at the woman. "This is Leah Charles from Augustus Town, and she is my Associate Minister of Human Services," he responded happily. "She's the new Minister," Hilley said, standing up and closing the treaty in his briefcase. "Excuse me sir?" Ivan asked with confusion. "You're fired. Along with the rest of this blasted Cabinet you are running," said Hilley firmly. "Sir, you can't do that! Look how much work I did!" Ivan said. "Putting up a Demilitarized Zone due to this war?! Yeah, nice accomplishment Minister," Hilley yelled. "I...," started Ivan, looking at Leah. "You've caused enough damage, Minister, it is time to let a true Cabinet member fix what you ruined," said Leah, smirking at Ivan.

Akerman let out a small shriek as she recollected that day. That day was when the current Cabinet was selected and Hilley's previous Cabinet was ejected from office. Most of the former Ministers left Pigletville, moving out to the suburbs, but not Ivan. He was standing across from her in the ballroom now, flirting with some girl in the corner of the ballroom. She forgot about that day, but looking at him, she couldn't forget the events that followed the war. The DMZ, the Economic Depression, and of course, the rejection of Guslantis by The North Pacific.

(OOC: If anyone wants to join in on the flashback arc, the scene is set in 2013, and Guslantis just lost the worst war in its history. It is set right after the first Treaty of Pigletville and the events before the second Treaty of Pigletville.)

Alec Durand entered the ballroom, following him was Lorraine Tonkincotty, the ambassador to Guslantis.

His visit was not announced, but he liked having the element of surprise. As for Lorraine, she really didn't want to be here. Alec was glad the treaty negotiations were over, but disappointed that he was no longer an MP. He couldn't stand because he wasn't in Plembobria, despite holding a deputy ministerial position. He was the official NPTO representative now.

"No where was that cute little thing? Burns was her name, wasn't it? I know because her image is 'burned' into my memory."

"Alec, your behaviour towards female colleagues is reprehensible. If doesn't stop, I will report it to Foreign Ministry, and you will be fired," said Tonkincotty.

"You can't do that."

"Yes I can. I am in charge of all diplomatic affairs in this country, and you work in my embassy. I am warning you, if you don't display proper decorum at this ball, you're done."

Alec made a face at Lorraine and continued into the crowded ballroom in search of the Ministry of Information. Lorraine searched for a place where she could sit by herself.

Sebt strode slowly but purposefully, projecting an air of confidence unexpected of someone who had, up til now, acted through representatives. He held the box under his arm as he approached Ayuda at the door "Good Evening, Sebt of Wolfsea and my companion Grand Legate Goltah. We hope we've not arrived late." his smile, much like the rest of his features, was somewhat Lupine, a face that would make even the bravest feel a tinge of dread should it show anger but, as it was now, was very inviting, it's jocularity contrasting Shera's stern expression. He was somewhat handsome in a rugged sort of way, his features far from delicate reflecting his life as a military officer prior to his ascension.

"Ihre Hoheit, firstly you are not old enough to drink, and secondly -- Your Highness! -- where did you even get that thing?" Alfons Schah exclaimed, reaching for the bottle.

The smirking Prince downed a few gulps of pure Kannexan beer and held the bottle out of Schah's reach. "I'm turning eighteen in a few, and I have always been a firmly believer in the prerogative of a royal prince to enjoy the fruits of his own Reich -- "

"Ja, ja, but enjoy it in your hotel room; don't drink now -- "

"I'm hardly tipsy, Herr Schah!" Schah stopped and regarded him heavily. Prince Reinhard was, for now, telling the truth. "They won't have the same brew there, I'll betcha that."

"Fine, fine -- but Gott, bitte bitte -- please don't screw this up, for Kannex's sake. Your royal house has not sent any princes to international events in years." Alfons Schah sat back in his seat. They were currently in a limousine speeding through the streets of the capital. At last, they turned a corner, past a checkpoint, and reached the location of the ball. Schah glanced at the Prince. "Leave that bottle here, mein Herr!" he exhorted what bordered on a command. Prince Reinhard smiled like fighter before his match, then obeyed and left the bottle of beer in his seat.

Leaving the car, they made their way up the steps. Schah opened the door for the Prince. Light immediately struck his eyes. Chandeliers hung from the ceilings as foreigners in dresses and suits and boots waltzed along the glossy ballroom floor. Images of local mythology, scenes of battle and conquest and not too few nudes adorned the halls and even the floors. Already there were a few others, a few that Schah recognized and whom he hoped the Prince did, too.

Reinhard took a few seconds and beamed the light right back at the room with his characteristic smile. "I hope there's food and beer here. Wine, at the very least. But I'm more of a common man's prince, so I prefer beer..."

Street of Beier Manor
5:30PM

The entire Wrokford family and they single bodyguard were approaching Beier Manor, it was a beautiful structure. It seems so sophisticated and different to the rest of Pigletville, the capital of Guslantis. The family walked in a line of sorts, the bodyguard in the front with Diana and Harold arm-in-arm. One of Harold's arms were wrapped around Diana's other with a crutch in his other hand, helping him keep pressure off his foot, whilst Diana kept a bouquet of Cronaal flowers in her hands. They were a rarer bloom that was exclusive to the mountains of North-Eastern Cronaal, the spanned from, Lake Pel all the way down to Northern Yamaha, the flower's name was The Frozen Eden Orchid which resulted in the flowers being highly valuable to those religious in Cronaal. Behind Diana and Harold were the three children, Adam in front and the two girls, Elysia and Rydia, beside each other behind him. Jean, Diana's mother, was on the right of the side of them, talking to Adam.Diana was dressed in a deep red gown. Her black hair, (OOC: I know it's different, I forgot what it used to be), was soft and shining in the sun as it reached from her scalp to just below her should, it was a magnificent contrast to her dress which was layer in several different ways and reached further than her feet. It was decorated with silver, shiny gems which were light enough to go from her bust to the bottom of the dress in a traditional Cronaal spiral-design. Harold, however, was wearing a fine-tailored suit which fit him almost perfectly. His shirt was also red but his suit jacket and trousers were as black as the night sky and were almost inverted to Diana's color scheme, her having red being main and black being secondary. Jean was wearing a traditional 'gypsy' clothing, it looked rough-ish and had several layers on the skirt-area and looked quite thick. It made her seem older. (OOC: Think of the fortune-teller in Varrock on Ruenscape.).

They began to approach Beier Manor, it was imposing, beautiful and magnificent. When they reached the door Harold, Adam and Elysia entered, Rydia was spoken to by Jean about not wandering off and then they both entered. Joseph wished to speak with Diana before they entered.
"Queen, are you ready? I remember you speaking of being nervous." Joseph asked with a concerned expression on his tone, he was always worrying about Diana, she was his to protect.
"Yes, Joseph." Diana giggle a little as she answered, she hugged him and they walked side-by-side into the ballroom. Adam was most likely near where the alcohol was, as usual, whilst Elysia was heading for the female lavatory looking for a cubicle to text in for the whole event whilst Jean and Rydia were exploring the building. Diana saw Harold standing by the door, waiting for her.

(I won't be able to reply much this week, will be on holiday til friday but will check in with TNP at night)

(No it isn't. I've been very busy the last few days and I literally just finished my last exam five minutes ago and will be posting a rather complex dual-time history and intro post. Expect that promptly at around four or five this afternoon (EST) and thank you for bearing with me.)

Grand Hibernal Ballroom
Beier Manor
Pigletville, GU
(One year, six months earlier and Present Day)

It was a cold day in November when a man with a long green robe strolled up the steps of a newly-constructed Beier Manor. He swept his long black hair out of his face as he smiled. This was his house, and all it took was five years of Guslant taxes. It was a warm day in June when a man, wearing the same robe walked up the stairs, avoiding the crowd of people for the Second Pigletville Ball. He had short blond hair, which he adjusted as he smiled. This was his first ball in his new position, and he was eager to make it the best. "Minister," said the Ministry secretary to both Beier and Baldwin as they nodded. They followed her, in almost the same fashion, even though the events happened so long apart. As they walked in, they saw people on a ladder messing with the chandelier in the center of the ballroom. "Sir, I'm putting the last pin in for the chandelier, and your mansion shall be complete," said one of the construction workers to Beier. Beier nodded as he watched them install the chandelier. "Sir, all safety precautions are being taken to ensure the safety of our guests. Akerman over there suggest that I check the chandelier to make sure it is tight and in its place," said Delford, securing the chandelier. As he climbed down the ladder he passed by checking the same pin the construction worker had installed, which was slightly out of place. "All seems good," said Delford as he picked up the ladder and went to go place it in the closet. "Good, everything is now ready," they said, walking toward the stage at the back of the ballroom.

The monarchs, General Scottsfield, Minister Tucker, and Associate Minister Burns stood at the stage as people entered for the ball. Burns suddenly tried to hide behind Tucker, and he looked at her in confusion. "What the hell?", he asked. "It's that weird Plembobrian delegate that tried to flirt with me...I swear, if he tries anything, I'm kicking him with my heel," she said, avoiding eye contact. On the other side of Scottsfield, Abigail and Hunter were having a conversation. "I wonder how my unborn child is reacting to all this bass," she said with a smile. "I bet he's rocking out to the music," joked Hilley. The other four looked at him in complete shock, and Hilley realized his mistake. "Sur...prise!" said Hilley, hoping to cool his wife down. "Congrats buddy, a boy!" said Tucker, moving away from Burns as he blew her cover. The Plembobrian delegate saw her and she now had to acknowledge him. "Go talk to your boyfriend, Alicia," joked Scottsfield as she pushed Alicia in his direction. She walked over to him awkwardly, and began to speak in a reserved tone. "Hello Alec, good to see you again," she said, hoping to not to show any sign of caring for him. Meanwhile, Hall and Charles waltzed through the ballroom, almost bumping into the Kannexan prince. "Oh, I'm sorry, I don't believe we've met," said Charles, beaming at the prince. "Leah Charles, Minister of Human Services," she said, letting go of Hall and shaking the prince's hand. "Kyle, please go get me some punch." Kyle, quite jealously, strolled away from Leah and almost pummeled over Ayuda, who was escorting both Sebt and the delegates from Cronaal into the ballroom. "Master, please, have some decorum," said Ayuda in a soft tone. "Does shutting you off count as decorum?" said Hall, as he glared at Ayuda. "Uh, no sir," he replied. "Then move out of my way," he said, glancing over at the guests and storming off. "Please excuse him, he is not the kindest of our ministers," said a woman, approaching the group. "My name is Andrea Reeder, and I'm the newly-appointed Minister of Science. While it is totally not required, if you could, we would like to ask for a small donation to help fund our first project as a Ministry," she handed each guest a brochure which featured their project, the PigletXR1, a space rocket that would launch into orbit to deliver the first part of their proposed space station. "Enjoy your time," she said as she walked off.

President Ethan Archer and his family arrived at Pigletville soon before the Ball began. Cascadia borders Guslantis, so the flight was quick enough. They arrive at the Grand Hibernal Ballroom in a black bulletproof SUV, followed closely by another SUV carrying their six bodyguards. After exiting the vehicles, Archer turns to his wife, "I swear, our Minister of Defence is paranoid. Is all this protection really necessary?" His wife doesn't answer but looks at her husband in sarcastic sympathy.

After entering the building, Archer and his family are greeted by many various officials in the Guslantis government. He kindly greets them, but he cares little about starting a conversation. Cascadia recently joined the NPTO, and he would like to talk to the Guslantis King and Queen. He sees them by the stage talking. He tells his wife that he'll be right back, and she says she'll be by the entrance with their son if he needs them. Maneuvering through the crowd, he approaches the monarchs. As he gets closer, he could hear their conversation.

Greeting the two of them he says, "I couldn't help but overhear your conversation. Congratulations on the boy!"

"Mister Minister," Prince Reinhard of Kannex replied as the man introduced himself as Leah Charles. As a prince he'd been trained to smile when meeting strangers, and so this was the kind of smile he radiated now. A hunch told him the man was a Guslant, but he was not too sure. A feeling of chewing pebbles came over him as he began speaking his English: "Gut to meet you. You are a minister of human resources, ja? Very gut. I am Prinz Reinhard of the Empire of Kannex. Grandson of der Kaiser." He nodded his head to Alfons. "Und dies iss der minister to your countrry."

Reinhard's companion gave a cordial nod and extended his hand. "I am Alfons Schah, of the Kannexan Foreign Ministry." His English, in contrast to that of the prince's, flowed like running water. "I have the honor of meeting you."

Sevt was about to offer use of Wolfsea's station but Ms Reeder had already gone, he looked at the leaflet, handing it to Shera. He noticed Hilley and Abigail and approached slowly, waiting to speak until he had gotten within a few feet "I hear congratulations are in order your majesty." Sebt smiled, offering his hand and the box "Sebt, Khan of Wolfsea." shaking the royal couples hands eagerly "I do not know if this is appropriate or not but I hope you will accept this." opening the box to reveal an ornate sheathed dagger, the pommel was shaped as a wolfshead with a blue ribbon and red leather barding on the handle, the hilt was a simple crescent inlaid with a pair of saphirres matching the small jewels in the wolfs eyes. The sheath was black leather, a delicate filigree of silver wire patterned along it's length, it was little more than a dirk "In our culture the presenting of a dagger to a host is a symbol of trust and a way of showing we bear no ill to the household or tribe, I hope you accept my trust and my good intentions your majesties." bowing his head slightly.

Alfred Nursson, John Sirus, Shaw Atlas, their wives, and their 10 guards entered the Beier Manor. It was a lovely place that Nursson remembered both fondly and horribly, the latter being because of the famous Beier Manor Embezzlement Caper that he witnessed and helped stop, as well as the Pigletville Terrorist Attack and subsequent battle that helped split Pigletville into East and West, along with the greater battle soon after. However, the Great War was long over and this was a time of peace and enjoyment.

However, Sirus was still very cautious. He had made sure none of his, Nursson's or Atlas's children came. After what had happened to his children and Pigletville before his very eyes, this city gave him a sense of trauma and terror, even though now it looked like nothing happened. "This ball is to commemorate the reunion of Pigletville." he thought. "Just focus on the positives...just focus on the positives...forget the war..." Sirus knew that there were more pressing matters at hand, such as STAYING AWAY FROM DEBRA, wherever she was, the crazed monster.

Atlas, however, had not been in Pigletville before in a while and was much more positive than the other two. He practically led the charge inside the door and began saying hello to everyone as he made his way to Charles, Reinhard and Schah, the delegates of the two countries he wanted to converse with the most. Guslantis was an old ally and international friend in nearly every aspect, but Kannex. Oh, Kannex. Kannex was a wonderful nation in Syrixia's eyes. Many Syrixian tourists went to Kannex for a glimpse of German culture, which many Syrixians admired and idolized. Atlas wanted to improve relations with Kannex more than any other nation in the Ballroom.

(the painting mentioned in this post refers to pre-reboot/before the civil war stuff ceased to ever happen. It also has a connection to my roleplay, Lost In The Woods.)

Diana noticed that Harold, her husband, was holding a large, thin object which was wrapped in fine paper. She looked at it with a puzzled expression, trying to guess what it was. It was clearly a large rectangular shape which seemed to dip inwards for most of the shape on one side. Diana looked up at Harold,
"Whats' that dear?" she asked, Harold hadn't spoken that he was bringing anything.
"It's a gift, a gift for King Hunter. Remember that painting your mother gave to me when she simply found it in the attic in your old home?" Harold replied, with a smile,
"What an unusual gift. I never understood that one, apparently it was found by one of my ancestors, the one with the same name as me." Diana said to Harold, confused. She remembered the image it showed vividly, it showed a city very similar to Pigletville during a clouded day with a man and a woman facing upwards, towards the city. They were looking at a large, mechanical worm-like creatures with drills at the end towering into the sky, above all the buildings around them, there were three with two of them falling into opposite directionss and unusual, unhuman planes surrounding them, destroying what was in the city, like a warzone. One of the two people looked highly similar to General Akerman, Diana didn't know her well at all so she doubted that but the man beside her was unfamilar. He was dressed in a dress-suit with short, dark brown hair which was neatly styled, he seemed to be falling to the floor with fear or shame.
"How did you get it in here without me knowing?" Diana asked Harold,
"I got a courier to deliver it before we came." Harold replied.

Joseph approached the couple, after he spoke to someone who seemed like a guard, and gestured his hands towards the table area. It was beautifully built, the Guslant architecture was similar to hat of Cronaal. It seemed European-American in base but Cronaal's Victorian-Georgian architecture had it's differences.

"Thank you, sir," said Hunter. "I don't believe we have met. Care for a drink?" "No thank you, your Majesty." Archer replied. "I am President Ethan Archer of The Cascadian Commonwealth." Queen Abigail interrupts, "Ah, Cascadia! As I am aware, Guslantis is great allies with your nation." Ethan says, "That is correct, ma'am. I was hoping to talk with you and your husband concerning Cascadia's recent acceptance into the NPTO." "Well please, sit." Hunter motions his hand to a nearby table.

As he sits, Archer sees someone out of the corner of his eye. He turns to look. The guards. Two of Cascadia's finest Secret Service Officers, standing, watching constantly as he converses with the couple. He hates being watched, but he knows it is necessary. He brushes the thoughts out of his head, turning back to Hunter and Abigail.

Across the room, Susan and 12-year-old Jackson stood awkwardly in the crowd of people. They catch the attention of a lady a few yards away, holding in her hand a large stack of brochures, handing them out to various people as they walk by. She walks up, a big smile on her face. "Is he your date?" She said sarcastically, looking first at Susan, then down at Jackson. Susan smiled, "No, my son. We are here from Cascadia, with my husband." The lady replied, "Oh, Cascadia. I have heard much about it. I am Andrea Reeder, the newly-appointed Minister of Science. And you two are?"

"I am Susan Archer, the wife of President Ethan Archer. This is our son, Jackson. Nice to meet you." "Nice to meet you two, as well." He replies. "While it is totally not required, if you could, we would like to ask for a small donation to help fund our first project as a Ministry." She handed them both one of the brochures on the PigletXR1, just as she had done with many other passers-by. "I will have to ask my husband. This project looks very interesting, though." Susan replies.

Jackson tugs on his mother's blue dress, "I'm hungry. We haven't eaten anything since this morning." Susan tells Andrea, "Sorry, I'll have to go get him some food. Again, it was nice to meet you."

The Minister nods, and walks away. The two of them walk over to where the food is being served. They take it all in; It looked good, really good. But, while not the healthiest food on the menu, they could not pass up the fried chicken. You weren't considered a real Cascadian is you didn't love fried chicken and mashed potatoes. When they finished eating, they walked over to where Ethan was sitting.

Leah Charles smiled when she heard the accent of the Kannexan prince. "Oh, you speak German too?" she said, drawing closer to the prince. "See, since my mother believed becoming a diplomat would help me rise out of my small little hometown, she had me learn Guslant's native language, which is used in diplomacy among Guslant leaders," she said while explaining. Across the room, an old woman saw the Syrixian delegation enter. She quickly nodded to the Guslant guards and they began to escort her over to the Syrixian delegation. "Mr. Alfred Nursson! What a surprise to see you here again!", she began. The woman knew she looked familiar to the duo, or at least Nursson, but she thought they'd never guess who she was. "My name is Margaret Charles, and I am the mother of Leah Charles, Minister of Human Services," she said reaffirming them and trying to make them feel less awkward. Over at the stage, the couple gazed at the dagger in delight. "Does it work?" asked Hunter, picking it up. At that moment, the guards drew tense and began to move closer to the king. "Can you battle with it?", Hunter began to swing the dagger around violently, and his Chief-of-Guards quickly grabbed the dagger out of the king's hand and handed it over to one of the ballroom guards. "Please take that to General Akerman for testing," he said to the ballroom guard. The Cascadian President came up to speak, and as such, the couple went to sit at one of the tables. The delegation from Cronaal then approached almost a minute later. "The couple will be right with you, please have a seat at one of the tables and someone will be right with you," said Scottsfield. The delegate motioned his hands to where he would be waiting and sat down to wait. While he was waiting, a tall woman with blonde hair sat down at his table. "Want a shot?" she asked, holding up a bottle of whiskey. "I'm Emily, by the way, General Emily Akerman," she continued as she looked at the man. She was not a diplomat, so she didn't recall any of the delegates, or even what country they represented. Her main job was to protect the ballroom, and so far, nothing had gone wrong. "THIS IS NOT FRUITY JUICEY FRUIT PUNCH!", yelled a man behind her as she turned around. Hall, who was now holding the bowl of fruit punch, lifted it over the server's head and began to pour it on him in anger. "Excuse me one moment," excused Akerman. "Reynolds, we've got a 6220 on the Southwest side of the ballroom."

Sebt handed the box to one of the guards, smiling at Hunter's enthusiasm "A good smith turns a blade from a tool into a work of art young master, Wolvesh steel is fine but that dagger would not stand up to much use." before turning to Hilley and Abigail once more "I must apologise if I have caused a fracas but traditions such as this are vital to my people, it is how we survived the fall of the Etrebean empire and the dark times before the First Khan... and as Khan I am expected to uphold them." he explained, he knew many saw his people as a little backward with their strict adherence to their traditions but it was adherence borne out of necessity, his people were still driven by survival instinct and, in spite of technological and scientific advancements, these traditions borne out of said instinct were core to their culture.

Prince Reinhard's eyes widened in surprise as Charles spoke German. "Oh, allerdings. Deutsch ist die Sprache meines Landes," he grinned. "So you became a minister instead of a diplomat. I understand, that you manage human resources... employees, civil servants, of the like?" Reinhard's body turned a few degrees, subtly beckoning Leah Charles to join him in that direction. He was headed in the direction of the drinks. The disturbance before took his eye off for a moment, but he otherwise maintained eye contact with the Frau Minister.

A whole troop of men in suits, some with bulging muscles under those dark vests and sunglasses and earpieces, along with a smaller cadre of women -- wives of the some of them -- moved in the ballroom. They appeared like a coordinated group, orbiting around a commanding man in the center. Alfons Schah recognized him as the leader of Syrixia, Alfred Nursson. Accompanying him were over a dozen Syrixians. "Mein Gott," he gave a chuckle under his breath. The sheer presence of the Syrixians in this room!

They seemed to be approaching him from across the room, but a lone older woman intercepted them. She looked like one of those 1960s college protesters standing in front of tanks and whatnot. For now, it seemed the Syrixians would be occupied. Nonetheless Schah was preparing himself to meet with the Syrixians, trying to make out the names of the other Syrixian men.

Schah knew his country had an interesting relationship with the Syrixian republic. Trade and commerce played a major role, and now the new Wohlbund pact held Syrixia and Kannex against socialist aggression. Not too long ago, Kannex had supported West Rhuvanland against Syrixian ambitions. Kannexans, despite their darker skin and multiracial background, have always been proud of their language. A sense of German cultural unity bound Kannex with her colony Pelhafor, and with the country of Rhuvanland. But Free Rhuvanland's biggest threat happened not to be Syrixians, but rather Nebulan socialists far from the north. Now, the Kannexan empire and the Syrixian republic were allies.

"Very nice to meet you, Mrs. Charles." Nursson replied. "Guslantis is an old ally and friend to Syrixia and I find it hard to come up with a reason NOT to come to this Ball, if there is any." Nursson laughed, and then introduced Sirus to Mrs. Charles. "This is John Sirus, my Deputy Prime Minister as well as my Prime Ministerial predecessor. He attended the first Ball." Nursson then leaned in and whispered, "The whole caper that happened at that Ball is why we have so many guards, incase you were wondering. It's a security measure." Atlas, however, could not wait any longer. While the others talked with the Guslants, Atlas broke away from the group and walked towards the delegates from Kannex, specifically the one named Schah.

Archer smiled at the couple, "We can talk some other time. I see my family is waiting for me at the eating area. It was nice meeting you." He stood up to leave, and Hunter replied, "Nice meeting you too, Mr. Archer." Abigail nodded, "I hope to see you again soon."

Archer walked over to where his family was sitting, eating chicken. Susan looked up, "There you are! We just started eating, if you want to grab some." Archer got a plate of fried chicken and other sides and sat down to talk with his family. "I met the King and Queen. I will have to introduce you two to them. They were a little busy, it seemed, so I'll have to talk about the NPTO with them later."

"Mother! Mother, wake up!" Sura shouted as she bounded into her mother's quarters.

"Sura!" Seira replied, overwhelmed with relief. "Are you feeling better? Is your illness gone?"

"Yes! Can we go to the ball now, since you promised? Please?"

"Of course, dear, just let me prepare." Seira turned back to Feuer kul Sunft, continuing their conversation while Sura excitedly bounded around the room. "Thank you again for getting those herbs for her. I couldn't leave her alone while she was sick."

Feuer nodded in reply before smiling down at Sura, who was doing her best to get his attention.

"Thank you so much!" she said, jumping up and hugging his muzzle. She dropped back down and sat, tired from her excitement, before turning to her mother. "Mother, is he coming with us to the ball?"

"If he wishes, he may," Seira replied, looking over at Feuer. "We could dance again, like when we were younger."

Feuer stared back at Seira, considering his reply carefully. After some time, he nodded, once again smiling down at Sura as she celebrated. She always was a sociable, excitable little dragonet.

"Calm down, Sura, I still need to get you ready," Seira said.

—————

With Sura clean and properly decorated in line with her position as the daughter of a Guslant Minister and leader of the Sunft clan, the three dragons flew to the Beier Manor and entered through the large double doors into the Grand Hibernal Ballroom. Sura's illness made them quite late, as Seira feared; the ballroom was already packed with delegates from many different countries. Thankfully, the other Ministers had been very understanding when she told them Sura was ill, even though she gave the impression that Sura's illness was less serious than it was.

She walked toward the two monarchs, Sura and Feuer following close behind. Thankfully, Sura had learned that running up to random humans and sniffing them was rude, though she was having difficulty holding herself back with all the new sights and sounds and smells around her. The three waited their turn to speak with the monarchs; they were already being swamped with the delegates introducing themselves and providing their best wishes. While Seira wouldn't need to introduce herself or Sura, she would need to introduce the white dragon currently watching the area next to her.
