Grosseschnauzer's Comment

Can someone please edit the templastes to specifically include "abstain" or "present" as an option for each office?

Clearly the fact that the templates do not show this as an option is leading to erroneous initial OPs and PMs concerning voting in the elections. Maybe that tweak would avoid yet another election where this error occurs.

(Next time I have to make such a request, my language will not be so polite.

Grosseschnauzer, please do not use your admin powers to post past a thread lock. I know Zetaboards does not make it clear to admins which threads are locked, but, for future reference, the Election Templates thread is a locked thread.

As well, the templates do provide that information, but GitHub was down when I sent out the PMs, so I, a first-time Election Commissioner, forgot. It was quickly fixed before anything, major or minor, happened.

You have a problem following your own rules it seems to me. All I did was point it out, again.

(I was the one who pointed out the problem of not listing abstain last time, and as soon as I saw that email, I posted a request to fix the templates.)

It wouldn't, hurt to add a note about making sure abstentions is always given as an option. My review of the template did not show any mention of it.

I am human, like anyone else. I made a mistake. I fixed it.

And abstentions, again, are mentioned and required in the templates:
18. Options: the list of candidates followed by "Abstain" or "Present" if Abstain is a candidate in this election, separated by " | ".

Either file a Court case or stop wasting the Election Commission's time. I will not be commenting further.
