Malvad/Bootsie for WA Delegate/Vice Delegate

What does the Vice Delegate do and how will you be good for the position?

The Vice Delegate is the second most important government official in The North Pacific, next to the Delegate. While most see the position as the stepping stone to Delegate, the VD couldn't be more different from their executive counterpart. In my mind, I see the Delegate as being a "Super Minister" and the VD being a "Super Speaker" in regards to their duties and range of delegation. The Vice Delegate is head of the Security Council, which is really crucial, considering each has between 200-500 endorsements each and could swing into Delegacy at any needed time. The VD also checks incoming citizens to avoid people from enter TNP that shouldn't. The VD also must be prepared, for if the Delegate becomes rogue or is not of the right endorsement count to hold in-game Delegacy, they, with the second highest count in the region, is usually selected to hold the in-game Delegacy and if needed, hold the Acting Delegate position.

How can we trust you with over 500 endorsements?

Before the coup of Lazarus, at which I was personally asked by Asta to surrender all of my endorsements to participate in the liberation, I held over 300 endorsements, even higher than some Security Councillors. I eventually will apply for the Security Council when my SPDR is high enough, but until then, I would love to be given the opportunity to head the Security Council and help both them and the Delegate.

Speaking of Delegate, who are you endorsing?

I am proud to announce that I am the running-mate of Malvad. He has been a great friend, and I'm glad to be running with him this election.

One of the big things that immediately stood out to me with your campaign is that you have never served on the Security Council before (correct?), and yet you are running to chair it. I'm sure others are a little wary about someone heading an organization they aren't qualified to actually be in. Could you first address the legality of a potential Bootsie VD-dom, and then set my (and I would think others') minds at ease about whether the choice is good or not?

Also, my standard question for all candidates: what one thing differentiates or will differentiate you from the other candidates for VD?

Bootsie, I am concerned about the fact that you switch the office you are running for.
May I know the reason you decided to switch? Because switching like that really shows a lack of dedication to either of the offices.

You withdraw from a race where you have a track record to be judged on as the incumbent to one where you have no trace record .... hmmmm.

Why? Did you see the way the wind was blowing in the Speaker race?

I just wanted to bring forth that I have not been ignoring your questions, but rather have been quite sick the past 24 hours. I will be getting around to them at the next available time.

Get well soon, Bootsie. Rest... and, uh... pop some pills... but, uh, not too many... uh, and, uh... do whatever you need to do to rid yourself of your specific ailment.

Very well then, a serious question or two: are there any reforms you feel ought to be made to the way the security council has members admitted or the way it operates?

What safeguards do you feel ought to be in place to prevent the security council being infiltrated?

Thank you for the questions, Alta.

One of the issues with climbing to Security Council status is the SPDR associated with gaining entry. Of course, this is all in good measure, considering you wouldn't someone to gain 500 endorsements in five minutes and become a Security Councillor. This has proven a challenge as of late, since I didn't have WA on Guslantis for about two or three years after I joined NS, and then participated in the NPA after that, leaving me with a still-low SPDR. As for the legality, it is perfectly "legal" to head an organization you've never been apart of, however, I do know that there will be some trust issues with having confidence in me to head the Council. I believe that I will learn quickly, more so than with the Speaker's Office (thanks to my computer working again!) and I believe I will help TNP in the next term!!

To answer your second question, while I believe that SillyString, Romanoffia, and Democratic Donkeys are great choices for Vice Delegate, I believe that a new Vice Delegate for the Summer-Fall Term will bring a sort of aliveness to TNP and to the office that needs to be expressed in the coming term.

Thank you for your question, Tomb.

I have served the office of the Speaker ever since I began my government career in The North Pacific, and I was going to withdraw to let the more qualified candidates for Speaker fight it out for my seat. However, when Malvad announced his candidacy, I knew I needed to help one of my closest NS friends in his campaign and run as his VD, an office I've wanted to pursue for some time. While on the outside it may look like I "switched" I had all intention to just drop my candidacy as Speaker to hand it to someone more qualified than I.

I knew when COE declared his candidacy that my Speaker days were over. If you see that as the wind, then yes. I see it as a better opportunity for TNP to have a legendary Speaker.

I believe the number of endorsements should increase, as The North Pacific has grown substantially in the time the number was updated. Of course, that is just my opinion, and if I was Vice Delegate, I would like to talk that over with the SC first.

To your second question, I believe talking it over with the SC before even voting on admission to the Security Council is a good safeguard. We do not want a rogue in the Security Council or in the Delegacy.
