Preserve the Pests!

On the Democratic Union Island, a large cloud has been reported to be actually migratory insects that have been devastating the local flora and fauna. Many of the gardeners and residents of the island are complaining that the pests must go, however many scientists and peaceful folk are recommending that they are not bothered and nature should take its course. It is up to the general assembly to decide whether or not the insects should be preserved or eliminated.

Conclusion
Much to the local residents' dismay, the officials at the island have decided against exterminating the pests and will let nature take its own course of action.

plembobria:
This island is for politics, not for tourism. As such, these pests must go.
This, representative, is the reason why there is no need to intervene in the insects travels.

As the closest member to this island, Sauceistan is all too familiar with this bug. They regularly plague the beaches of Noring Harbor, our largest tourist site, in the late spring, severely hurting our tourist industry. We have made considerable efforts to redirect their travels elsewhere. But, as you stated, the DU is not a tourist island. All matters are handled inside this assembly building.

To eliminate these bugs is to eliminate an important part of our ecosystem. May I remind the assembly that these are migratory bugs. A month or two gone by and they will have moved up north. The damage to the local wildlife has been heavily over-exaggerated; these bugs have been around for centuries, and all the same species are still here.

The locals can rid of the pests on their own time. They should not waste ours when we have important global matters to attend to.

The government of Dalies, although enjoys the flora and fauna on the island which is being consumed by the bugs, the enjoyment of nature and the delicate balance of such is more important than aesthetics. The official say by the government of Dalies is that the insects will not be exterminated and locals will have to deal with the horde of these migratory insects.
