Following a great increase in Role Play activity on this forum, it has become clear that we need specialized moderation for the Role Play section.
To this purpose, following discussions by the Moderation team, I have created a RolePlay Moderators group. The intention of this group is to function somewhat like the Global Moderators group in that it is separate from government roles and grants moderation privileges over forums, but different in that it has narrower privileges, and only in the RolePlay section.
Because the Cabinet already has moderation privileges, Malvad is not in this group, but he otherwise would be.
Scandigrad has been put in this group.
Following discussions within the Executive Staff of the Culture Ministry, additional moderators may be selected.
The role of the Role Play moderators is to moderate Role Play itself, not necessarily to deal with Terms of Service or overall forum rules violations. Therefore, the group had not been granted the power to issue warnings, move topics, merge topics, or split them, at this time. Moderation AutoTools that accomplish specific such tasks may be created for their use in the near future.
It is my understanding that the Role Play moderators are primarily expected to act to help the flow and improve everyone's enjoyment of TNP Roleplay by:
1. Non-destructively editing posts which are unwelcome interjections, godmodding, or otherwise problematic from an RP stand point to point out these problems.
2. Pinning, unpinning, closing, and opening topics as necessary for the Democratic Union, FAQ creation, or other community purposes.
3. Identifying possible violations of the forum rules for the rest of the Moderation Team and participating in Moderation discussions regarding such violations in the Role Play area.
As this is a very new role for TNP, the situation is likely to be adjusted as we 'find our feet' so to speak. Future changes will also be announced here.
Thank you for your patience and attention.
If you have any questions or concerns, please post them in this topic, and we will try to answer them and/or take them into account.
