(Scandigrad City, IPC) The Scandigrad Defense Force announced today that they have made preparations to acquire 18 American built F-15C models in what is reported to be a $800 million SCD deal. Sources reported on condition of anonymity that the air frames were acquired to fill a stronger air superiority role not fulfilled by the current force levels.
The F-15 has seen service across the globe, and boasts a staggering 104 air to air kills with zero losses.
Critics question if this purchase really provides any capabilities the SDF did not already have. There are also questions on whether or not the maintenance costs will justify the purchase of the aircraft second hand.
The aircraft are believed to have been purchased second hand, but the SDF reports they are in excellent condition. The SDF has also announced that they have no plans on taking any aircraft out of action.
The aircraft are expected to enter service sometime in early 2015.
