Malvad for VD

Malvad

TNPer
Hello everyone! Malvad here to say I am running for Vice Delegate. I had been considering running for Vice Delegate in the January election and I almost ran in the last election. So here I am to run. Yay elections!

For those of you not familiar with me, I have been in The North Pacific the past two and a half years, my entire time in NationStates. I have been a member of the Regional Assembly for a majority of my time here. I recently served as Deputy Minister of Culture and I currently am the Minister of Culture. I have also been one of the most active roleplayers in the past and recently.

So yes I am running for VD. If you have any questions please ask. Thank you and vote Malvad.

Why do you want to serve as Vice Delegate?

What role do you think the Vice Delegate should take in the executive?

Would you intend to have an active involvement in the rmb if you were elected Vice Delegate?

What are your goals for the term if you are elected?

As potential SC Chief, what changes do you think should be made to better meet the needs of TNP Security?

How has being Minister for Culture helped you?

McMasterdonia:
Why do you want to serve as Vice Delegate?
I want to serve the TNP community. This region is my home and I want to help improve and protect it however I can. And I feel I can do exactly that as Vice Delegate.

McMasterdonia:
What role do you think the Vice Delegate should take in the executive?
The Vice Delegate should be heavily involved in the executive. Being a heartbeat from the delegacy requires up to date knowledge on everything involving the region. This will help maintain order and smooth transitioning during potential crises. The Vice Delegate should help monitor the region and assist the delegate in whatever he needs, ranging from security issues to regional events.

McMasterdonia:
Would you intend to have an active involvement in the rmb if you were elected Vice Delegate?
I do not believe that being active on the RMB is completely necessary. I chip in on conversations when they interest me. That being said I would try to become involved on the RMB to extend information from the government and to ensure that the region knows I am here to serve everyone and will listen to anything they have to say.

McMasterdonia:
What are your goals for the term if you are elected?
My goals are:
1. To make sure RA applications are processed quickly and efficiently.
2. To encourage involvement in the executive staff and work to help recruit new members to the forum.
3. To help coordinate the subduing of any threats to the region through cooperation between the Security Council and the NPA.

Lord Nwahs:
As potential SC Chief, what changes do you think should be made to better meet the needs of TNP Security?
I believe that TNP is one of the most secure regions. We have a very active military and a powerful security council to prevent any threat to the region and to ensure stable transitions between governments.

I do believe that there needs to be a consistent monitoring of endorsement levels. Many nations are able to accumulate very large numbers very quickly. I do not believe that this is something wrong but I believe it is important to keep tabs on those nations. I know this is currently done but I just want to guarantee it is being done efficiently and consistently.

Beyond this I believe that TNP is quite safe and that our security is in good capable hands.

Lord Nwahs:
How has being Minister for Culture helped you?
I believe serving as Minister of Culture, and deputy before that, has given me insight on the operations of the executive government. I have formed relations with many members of TNP and worked to keep the ministry running smoothly. So being Minister has helped my understanding of administration in different areas and showed me how I can contribute to the region.

I hope I have answered your questions. If you require more information or think I handled a question incorrectly just tell me and I will get back to you. :)

Suppose there is a nation founded which immediately joins the WA and endorses every WA nation in TNP, rising to 100 endorsements within a few hours.

What would you, as Vice Delegate, do?

Compared to the endorsement levels of numerous nations in the region, 100 endorsements is not extremely high. However the nation should be monitored and if it continues to gather endorsements the nation should be contacted about becoming involved in the TNP community. From there, if need be, the issue can be brought to the security council.

plembobria:
How will you promote cheese in the region?
Well Roman already has the Ministry of Cheese. Not much more promoting to do than that. How about everyone gets a free slice of cheese on a designated Cheese Day. :P

What have you accomplished as Minister of Culture? Will you want to keep working on any of your current projects if you are elected Vice Delegate?

Respectfully, I don't agree. I believe it is incredibly important that the Vice Delegate is active on the Regional Message board. One crucial aspect for an effective Vice Delegate in a time of crisis is that they have the appropriate name-recognition from game side nations. Endotarting is one way of doing that, but I don't think it is enough. You need to keep building that relationship beyond simply that initial telegram, so that if the time comes, the nations who actively log in, know that you are 1) active 2) trustworthy and 3) engaged with their community.

Your contributions to the NPA in its early days, your contributions to our executive Government as a cabinet Minister and your consistent activity on the regional forum means that in many ways running for Vice Delegate is the logical next step for you.

I hope that your game side activity on the RMB will improve if you are elected.

Good luck in the election Malvad :)

What have you accomplished as Minister of Culture? Will you want to keep working on any of your current projects if you are elected Vice Delegate?
As Minister of Culture I have seen a successful Game of Thrones week, the completion of the Regional Identity Crisis, the start of the Lennarts, and been a part of a sharp increase in roleplay activity. I am proud of what has been accomplished so far in my term and I will want to continue working on any projects I can if elected. If I am unable to finish certain projects I will make sure that members of the ministry are able to proceed ahead.

And thank you McM for your comments and well wishes! :)
