TL;DR

So, this would be considered one of my less sensible posts, or maybe more sensible posts, given I'm seeking clarity here, but what is the correct way to use "TL;DR" from an authors viewpoint?

For example, I've often seen the TL;DR used, and I'm aware of it's meaning, but I don't understand it's usage as such. Thus, if you were writing a post, in what context would you use the TLDR header, what would prompt you to use/what would you mean by it's usage? Just trying to wrap my head around it is all :)

Something like this:

random post online:

TL;DR: words

Basically, TL;DR is used to give a short summary of a long or complex post. I think some posters on this forum would benefit from using TL;DR more.

The expression generally means that someone either doesn't want to take the time to read what is posted or lacks the sufficient intellectual capacity to understand or argue about what the post says.

It's like someone making a really detailed and authoritative post about George Washington crossing the Delaware River on the way to the Battle of Trenton and some moron posting, "TL;DR - glorified beer run".

Largely, one should interpret "TL;DR" as a form of trolling because if such a post is not worthy or reading on someone's eyes, then it is even less worthy of even commenting about. :P

Oh, and, as per my own post...

TL;DR - Words. :cheese:
