Queen Rach reacts with joy as her election results come in
Last month, root administrator and former queen Rach was elected to a third term as monarch. Running unopposed, Rach was voted in unanimously, replacing outgoing king NES who had decided against a second term. The election suffered a minor hiccup during campaigning, when it was pointed out that a change to Balder's Instrument of State and Government Act in March had included a mistake. The Monarch's election clause stated that a monarch's term is six months, with the elections occuring on January 5th and June 5th, dates that actually create terms of five and seven months. This timing issue wasn't noticed until part way through the election, leading the Riksdag to decide to continue with the election as planned, and delay the appointment a month to balance the terms. The act was changed to the correct date in the meantime, with the handover occurring the following month.

Queen takes charge
The 2nd of August saw Queen Rachs patience with an inactive government come to halt as she dissolve the Riksraadet, which came as a shock to some, with Statsminister election just days away. The decision came in the form of a Royal Decree with the Riksraadet suffering from inactivity during the summer period. Elected Statsminister Isidor C. Somerset was replaced for inactivity by foreign minister Fuzzy in July while ministers Cassisus Cerebella and Seven Deaths both missing in action in excess of a month leaving Fuzzy, Durk and mcmasterdonia as the only remaining members of a cabinet appointed in May.
The decision was met with both support and objection with Cormac Somerset bringing his objection to a Riksdag vote. The Riksdag voted to uphold the Royal Decree. During discussion over the legality of the decree Rach appoint Zander Cerebella as Statsminister despite originally abolishing the position as he had already expressed his intent to run in the upcoming Statsminister election.

Zander Cerebellas fun army are mobilised to lock down Balder in a state of fun
The new Statsminister Zander Cerebella took just 24 hours to announce his preferred cabinet. The new Riskraadet would be made up of former King North East Somerset as security minister, mcmasterdonia who would continue on as integration minister and two new faces to office Bran Triune and Alexander von Frostmark who would oversee culture and foreign affairs respectively while a vacant media position was merged into the culture ministry.
In his opening statement Mr Cerebella outlined his plans for the coming term which sought to improve the slow citizenship process, updating and increasing foreign relations, increasing WA membership and getting Balder to a stage where a dedicated military could be possible. Mr Cerebella also had plans for the Riksdag in regards to correcting and updating Balders law book as small faults in certain laws had been seen during the summer.

Riksdag News
An updated version of the monarchist treaty was present to the Riksdag by North East Somerset to resounding support. The updated treaty passed with 100% support.
Koth was appointed as Charles Cerebellas replacement in the Imperial Realms Sovereign Army, however Koth has since himself been replaced with vaculatestar who has set his sights on increasing both the Jomsvikings and ISRA membership by 50% within the next month.
Overdue elections for speaker saw Fuzzy elected Talman beating off competition from the outgoing speaker 34625197 and Aerie Rosewater. Cormac Somerset had thrown his hat into the ring and did have initial support however decided to withdraw despite having posted a campaign thread after the Queen closed the nominations thread for a day.
A WA treaty between The International Democratic Union, Balder, The North Pacific and Europeia is currently being discussed with many in favor of it.

Balder's Secrets!
AXE ME A QUESTION
Balder's first chat show was dropped after one week when it proved to be a total flop. "Good morning Balder!" Presented by media minister Cassius Cerebella, failed to break the 500 viewer mark once during it's early morning run, with producers blaming repeated pillaging of the set by the audience, and the presenter's obsession with smoked fish as the primary issues behind the show's failure. "How are we supposed to keep a show running when even the slightest provocation leads to the entire live audience carrying out a hit-and-run raid on the fixtures?" Said a black and blue production assistant. "All we had to do was mention a free giveaway, or helmet horn shining lessons and the entire place descended into chaos. The minister's attempts to fight back with a couple of half eaten kippers didn't help either..."
A STICKY SITUATION
The sanity of one of Balder's leading citizens was under question last week after Jarl Charles Cerebella was found wondering around the Riksdag, flicking spoonfuls of marmalade at the members. "It helps them think,and provides them with much needed sugar and fruit for energy!" answered a slightly orange Cerebella. "Plus it's much easier to balance a spoon on your nose when it's sticky, look!"
LOST IN TRANSLATION
Foreign Minister Fuzzy was sent home from a foreign trade mission in shame yesterday, after repeatedly hitting on the wife of a foreign president over dinner. "All I wanted was some ketchup for my owl pellets, turns out I kept asking the first lady for a strip tease." Said a visibly sad and hungry Fuzzy. "How was I supposed to know their words for Ketchup and knickers were the same? If anyone can point me in the direction of some injury free food, I'd be greatful..."
