Announcement of Wintreath Foreign Affairs Overhaul
During an analysis of our region several months ago, one complaint that surfaced was the convoluted layout of our forums, which included a large number of dead or inactive subforums for foreign embassies. We have since moved to reduce or eliminate small or inactive areas of our forums, and are now looking to overhaul our embassy area in line with these ideas, based on a review of our current foreign affairs by myself and Jarl of Foreign Affairs Chanku. Regions with which we have a treaty with, or we feel we have particularly close informal relations with will retain their forum embassies, while other embassies will be converted to topic consulates. Additionally, we will be taking the opportunity to entirely close embassies with some regions whose embassies have gone grossly inactive or have indicated that they will not longer utilize them.
For those that are interested, this is a HTML mockup of how our embassy area should look like after the overhaul. This was made for preview purposes only, and does not include all regions we have relations with.
These changes were not decided upon lightly, but we feel they are absolutely necessary. This will not only make our forums more streamlined and easier to browse for our guests and Citizens, but will allow our small but dedicated Diplomatic Corps to focus on regions that hold the most promise for productive relations. Below is the planned status of each embassy we have after the overhaul, so that no region is caught off-guard when the overhaul is implemented.
