This is the third question of the Delegate debate. The same rules apply. This question was asked by Punk D.

How do you feel the court has handled the legality of Treize's citizenship request?

The Court should ignore the Constibillicode and ban Treize and myself from the region. We're threats to regional security. So I'd say that they handled it poorly.

The decision has been delayed considerably, that much cannot be denied. However, we should take into account the following factors:

1) Much of the delay occurred under the previous Court.
2) We have had two Judicial elections during the period when this case was considered.
3) The Court has had to handle a considerably loaded docket during this period.
4) The issue at hand is complicated, from a technical point of view.

Having served in the Court myself, I am well aware of how disruptive elections are to the deliberation process. I also know that it can be time-consuming to reach consensus on tricky cases such as this one, especially when it is not possible to discuss them in real time (IRC, skype). And of course, I would much rather the Court produce a well-thought-out judgment, than rush a decision just to be quick.

So, I can sympathize with the judges taking their time, and I am not very concerned about the delay.

As a court justice, I think we have been fairing well in this term considering the load and back-log we have had to deal with. Is there room for improvement? Of course - there is room for improvement everywhere, not just the court.

As anyone who as served on the court can sympathize with me on this, it can be a damned if you do, damned if you don't proposition at times, especially when dealing with the occasional law that contradicts itself in some instances. The court is not intended to produce fast-food style McJustice. I train horses in RL so I generally live by the rule that usually you get the quickest results by taking one's time. If you go too fast, you usually get a hoof in the mug - better to do it right the first time rather than to have to do it over again.

This court has been routinely pushing through its docket as quickly as possible (even the last court was reasonably efficient). Being Justice/AG is a pretty thankless job in TNP and requires a lot of work.

So, it's taken a while but that's just how it goes. Why don't we all support the court for a change instead of the endless tomato throwing?
