Leekem For Justice
Good Day Citizens of TNP,
Many of you know me already, from my previously contested election for Speaker and the one before that for Attorney General. I’ve learned from my previous election, that I must keep election campaigns short and sweet, judging by my heavily criticized election last month.

I ran for Attorney General in November to try and improve efficiency in the judicial system and make the judicial system more competent in its processes of collecting evidence and helping the justice make a more precise verdict. I ran on these ideas and the consensus that I as an Attorney General will fully execute the laws here in TNP and make sure every citizen get the correct verdict and a proper punishment.
I know you are wondering why you should elect as a Justice. My yearly anniversary here in TNP is approaching. I know the government, I studied some of the cases, and I know the laws to an extent where I can use them and provide a decisive trial. Because we have many ambiguities in the justice system which I believe with some correct law reform we can fix; but I don’t want get in that. I want fix it on the justice bench.
So on that last note, I am a TNP citizens. I will make sure every verdict is probably decided on and we make no rash decisions. Because a justice must have the mentality to work and get the job done. So I tell you vote for Leekem and you won’t regret it.I am Leekem and I am running for the office of The North Pacific justice.
Thank you

Since it apparently didn't take, I will re-post my advice that I posted in your previous campaign, and hope you will take it in the spirit that it is meant:
Crushing Our Enemies:
Leekem, this thread continues a troubling trend I see in your posting history. Of the 106 posts you've made on this forum since you first posted last March, 69 have been in the election forum, almost 2 out of every 3. You have voted in the RA 19 times, yet only contributed to one RA discussion, and it was only to say that you were in favor of the motion under debate. Your few remaining posts are mostly a mix of applying for minor government positions, posting in the off-topic forums, and registering for citizenship and membership in the RA.

My point is this: as far as I can tell, you have yet to make a positive contribution to the success of this region. I hate to put it that bluntly, but it's the truth. Government positions go to people who demonstrate their commitment to TNP and their commitment our collective success as a region and as a government. The Speaker's office, in particular, requires some familiarity with the debate process in the RA, which you appear to have abstained from almost entirely. It's great that you are welcoming to new members, but sending a few PM's doesn't prepare you to hold public office.

In the two positions you've run for in the past, you earned an average of only 5 votes. Have you considered why you are not being successful in elections? It's not because you were a newcomer - newcomers get elected to public office frequently in this region. I, myself, was barely in the region a month when I became Speaker. It's because you're not showing us that you're committed to the region. Take my advice: stop giving us campaign speeches, and start giving us action. If you're interested in the Regional Assembly, try contributing to RA debates, or even propose a piece of legislation or two yourself. Show us that you know how it works, and that you care about the quality of our laws and our lawmaking body. If you do that, then your fellow legislators will take note, and you might see more success in elections in the future. But remember that government office is not an end unto itself - it's a means to improve the region, and contribute to our collective success.

EDIT: I will note that since your previous campaign, you have contributed to an RA debate (about elections) and made some substantive comments about the appointment of THOs, and applied to join the Diplomatic Corps again.

COE you know I admire and I think you were the best speaker in Tnps history, but you must note I didn't give you a campaign speech this time. I shortened it. I only said ideas that will prove to be effective in the judicial branch. That will strength our union. Coe you don't have to be in the spotlight to contribute or be a huge law reformer to make a difference. I am a North Pacifican, who believes in Tnp and will help bring my ideas to surface and can see some of the flaws we have made. I took advice, I am a little more active now but you cannot judge because I maybe didn't contribute as much as others because I know TNP and I know I can be a substantial addition to the Justice branch. So I thank you for your advice, and I have taken into account. But I was nominated, by the Vice Delegate and if he believes in me I will continue to pursue and make Tnp a better place make for all. So thank you for your advice.

Lord Nwahs:
As Justice will you accept bribes in the form of :cheese: ?
Very funny, Lord Nwahs
I remember when you first came to the region and I first greeted you and look at where you are now. Deputy Speaker, a tremendous feat to uphold and I congratulate you. Now you know as Justice, I can't accept bribes, even if it is the form of cheese. But I can promise you that I will uphold the ideals of democracy and carry out the laws our founders have set for us; and make sure every citizens gets the proper justification when being brought up on trials. Thank you for your question and once again congratulations.
Leekem

Then again COE, you were elected within a very short amount of time after you joined the region? A few weeks perhaps? Then again, time flies so it may have been longer than that

I do agree that Leekem would make his chances much better if he could remain consistently active in between election periods. Nonetheless, Good luck Leekem.

Correct, McM. Leekem's poor performance in elections is not because he is new - he isn't. He has been here almost a year now. He seems new because he is not involved or active in the region outside of seeking office, and that is why he doesn't win elections.

Leekem,

A few questions, if you will:

1. What real life experience have you got that would help you be a good justice?

2. You say CoE was the best speaker in TNP's history. How do you know?

3. Critique the case of Flemingovia vs Grosse. What went wrong and what could have been done differently?

4. Not a question, but a note. You say this in a post above:

I will make sure every verdict is probably decided

That is in the best traditions of TNP justices, and you should fit in well.

I would like to address to the Delegate and COE, that's even though I may not be in the spotlight I do help contribute to the success of this region . I talk with my fellow citizens about ideas, I talk with our government official and sometimes be inquisitive and give them my ideas on how things work here in TNP, and I even converse with newcomers to help make feel welcome. It is these subtle differences in the way I contribute. So yes, I can see where you coming from but I do so more than you give me credit for, including being and ambassador to the European Union; as a way to serve our region because all I want is the best for TNP and I know I do not contribute as much law reform as you like but that doesn't mean I can serve the North Pacific. So I hope that even though I am fairly a little bit underactive, I have your vote because once I am in a position to serve, trust you will see me in the lime light more often.

Thank you for your questions Flem,

Going back to my school years I have always loved politics and law. I studied it and used to participate in mock trials; and 99% of the time I won. When out of law school, I found myself an internship at a law firm in Manhattan. Working my way up the political ladder, I eventually found myself running it. Even though I don't seem like I have a presidential manner, I am a pretty cool boss and my employees love me.
In regards to COE, I was here for most of his Speaker term. I loved the way he interacted with people and made them feel at home. He administered the laws to the best of his abilities and went by the book. And, in my opinion, he was one of the best.
If your referring to the case currently happening between you and grosse, I believe you should win. I believe the case took a tremendous downfall when the defendant refused to provide any evidence concerning this case and then when then discovery period comes, the justice is standing there waiting for him, knowing their will be no evidence. I feel the case should be dismiss judging by the defendants negligence and be punishment. The court should rule in your favor. What could of gone differently, well I believe the was a way to settle this dispute without all the hostility, I believe he was being unfair. And then when you have the Court Justice resign in the mists of all things, the whole case got turned upside down.
Lastly yes I do believe we should not make rash decisions when presiding over a case. This is why we set timeables to keep everything on track and run everything smoothly; now sometimes it doesn't work but I will not have a citizen be treated unfairly, that is an unjust in our society if it was to happen. So thank you for your questions Flem.
Sincerely,
Leekem

mcmasterdonia:
Do you think you will be able to manage being a TNP Justice on top of being President of a Law Firm in real life?
Mr. Delegate, thank you for your question and sorry for my late response.
Yes, I am the president of a law firm, but don't let that discourage you from me gaining your vote. My priorities are set but I have created time to do about my justice duties(if elected); how I did this maybe by hiring or lessening the amount of work on me personally. So to you Mr. Delegate please let me gain your vote and prove to you that I can be a good justice.
Sincerely,
Leekem

Good day citizens of TNP,
I'm not sure if all of you have heard yet but I’ve won the special election for justice with a mere six votes. Although this was not a hotly contested election, I still stand by my values of TNP people and will serve my region well as your new justice. I know I did not gain many people's support, due to the large number of abstentions, but I know I can show you that I am capable of performing the duties of a Court justice. And I will run for re-election in March.
I would like to thank our vice delegate, DD, he has always supported me and without him I wouldn't be here. I would like to thank all those people who have continued to support me in every election; this is not a victory for me but a victory for The North Pacific People and we will persevere in every step we take with grace and competence.
God bless you and may God bless TNP.

Well, you've been making some pretty big promises for almost a year now about what you will do if you're elected. Now's your chance to prove it.

Thank you Mcmasterdonia, this will be a big opportunity to show TNP what I can do and how I will do it. As COE said I made some hefty promises and now its time to deliver.

Lennart:
You have the wish and the energy to do this job.

Good luck, mate.
Thank you Lennart, and I was very glad for your vote. I will prove to the North Pacific that I can do this job and use all the laws to provide a clear and coherent case.
