BREAKING NEWS

After the recent Halloween zombie apocalypse, government officials from across Malvad met at Mt. Chisinau. Attendees included former Empress Amelia Acronis, the Czarina, the Prime Minister, the Minister of the State, the mayors of Tiraspol and Modino Maro, the chief of the military, and many others. Topics discussed at the meeting included the current government, the zombie apocalypses, the brief military junta, and how to move forward.
As is well known, the government has gone through many drastic, possibly crippling, changes since the rule of Czar Mikhail VII. In recent months the changes have increased in frequency.
After reviewing all the evidence, a decision was made. The current government, including the Czardom, has been dissolved. Minister of the State Wendy Stevenson has been made acting leader until a new government is formed. However, this new government shall be chosen in a rather unique way.
On a soon to be announced day the people will go to the polls. They will vote on what type of government they wish for the new government to be and will select representatives for a constitutional convention. The representatives will be tasked with creating the chosen form of government and creating a brand new constitution based on it. We will continue to update as information is brought in.

The Parliament of Olvern and the Olvern Diplomatic Office hopes that the will of the people of Malvad will be accurately represented through this upcoming peaceful, democratic process.

King Lennart hopes Malvad to choose a democratic, parlametary Monarchy as Avalon would look forward to strengthen our links with such a regime, if it is elected by Malvadians themselves.

UPDATE

After delays in organizing the new government and the vote, information is finally being released about the vote. Minister of the State Wendy Stevenson announced Monday that the vote will be held on November 15. In less than 4 days a new government plan will be chosen by the people of Malvad. Also released was a copy of what the ballots will look like:

After the vote on the new form of government, representative elections will take place on November 22. These representatives will be responsible for creating a new constitution. The constitutional convention is scheduled to begin on December 2. Location has not been currently decided, but will either take place at Mt. Chisinau, in Tiraspol, or in Modino Maro.
The vote and the constitutional convention were called after the government was dissolved. This was due to past events such as the military junta and the zombie apocalypses. The weak government is also attributed to the dissolution of the government.
More updates as they come.

THE RESULTS ARE IN!

After the vote on Friday all the ballots have been tallied. Unsurprisingly, the people have chosen a representative democracy for the new government. As a complete surprise, a unitary state has been selected. The provinces will lose a great deal of power that they had under the federal system. But, the provincial governors have conceded and accept the results.
In related news, elections for representatives to the constitutional convention shall take place in 6 days on November 22. The convention shall be held at the Mt. Chisinau conference center. It is scheduled to begin on November 29. During the convention Mt. Chisinau will be on complete lockdown. No outside influences and politics will be allowed to influence the representatives. If all goes well the convention shall be finished by the end of the month and election dates will be set.
In other news our last issue shall be in a week to cover the representative elections. Afterwards we shall be converting to our new name, The Malvadian Times. We will still cover political issues, but we are expanding to cover all stories that effect Malvad. It is necessary as Malvad's national newspaper.
As always, thanks for reading.

NEW YEAR, NEW GOVERNMENT

At noon on Wednesday the new government of Malvad was sworn in. After the completion of the Second Constitution of Greater Malvadia snap elections were held and the winners were quickly brought to the capital to be sworn in. After a year of political turmoil and gridlock citizens are happy that a new government has been formed.
The Second Constitution of Greater Malvadia abolished the Czardom after nearly six centuries (with some interruptions) of imperial rule. The Prime Minister is now the head of state and the head of government. And in a landslide victory the first Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of the First United Republic are Stan Voris, former Minister of Defense, and Audrey Wallace, former Minister of Culture. The President of the Assembly is former WA Ambassador Molly Harrison.
Former Prime Minister Marcus Abraham and former Deputy PM Abigail Clem have left the executive branch and have won seats in the United Assembly. Former Minister of the State and caretaker leader Wendy Stevenson has left the government due to stress caused by running the caretaker government. She is now overseeing the movement of the capital from Modino Maro to Malvadiana in the central mountain region. She has not decided what to do afterwards.
The full constitution will be prepared for public reading and sent to all citizens soon. The new constitution is guaranteed to keep us protected and safeguard our freedoms. Assembly elections will take place every three years and executive elections will be every six.
Have a wonderful new year and may this bring hope to all of Malvad.

TURMOIL IN THE CAPITAL

Prime Minister Stan Voris has resigned citing recent protests and the ineffectiveness of the new constitution. Parliament was dissolved at four this afternoon. There will be no elections however. The Prime Minister signed an executive order decreeing that once again a new constitution will be created. He has also appointed John Wilson as caretaking governor. John Wilson is currently mayor of Malvad City. Governor Wilson will be running the government until further notice. More to come.
