According to the Speaker the new law takes effect July 19, though I don't know why. Of course, that shouldn't preclude the SC taking up the application presently.

It comes into law on the 19th if the Delegate does not grant its passage earlier. Jamie has done so, so I believe it takes legal force as soon as his approval is given/the relevant laws section is updated.

You'll both note that in the earlier post by Grosse it asks that any discussion not take place in the application thread so that we can avoid clutter.

So what I've done is split your posts off into a new thread. At any rate, as per the SC procedure:
SC Procedure:
4.The appointment of a member to the Security Council.
a. The Council shall admit by majority vote those applicants who the Council determines are not a Security Risk to the North Pacific and meet the minimum Influence and endorsement levels prescribed by law.
b. The minimum discussion period is two days and the minimum voting period is three days.
I have no issue with Jamie being a member of the SC (and that's not just because he can read this :P)

I also have no problems with Jamie being in the SC.

In fact, I like the idea of a sitting delegate being in the SC because it adds a semi-private means of offering advise and consent to any given delegate.

I think it's about time this went to a vote. Unless anyone has anything else to say.

Since there have been two posts in the last 24 hours, as per the new SC procedure, there needs to be both a first and a second to motion this to a vote.

I will propose that this go to a vote.
