Iro for Assoc. Justice

Iro

TNPer
Well, what do you know, all our accepted candidates have posted honest manifestos. This puts me in a good mood for this election :)

So hi there. I'm Iro. You'll probably know me from the two overlapping elections that have just occurred, so I don't feel the need to go extensively into my background or general TNPerience. You are always welcome to ask, of course.

This time around, I'm running for the position of Associate Justice. The judicial field is one in which I have experience aplenty. As we speak, I serve as the High Judicator of New Sorvun, a Justice of the Commonwealth of Regions, and a Supreme Court Justice of Nysa. I've also served as Assistant Judge of Atrigeas and spent a brief time on the Tribunal. I think that in general, my disposition, leveled character and all those good justice qualities allow me to be comfortable lingering in the courts.

I'm ready to take my judicial time in TNP to the next level. As I'm sure you're aware, I currently serve as a prosecutor in the Attorney General's Office. I ran a successful campaign for the actual office of Attorney General back in November and I don't regret a bit that I lost to Punk Daddy. The experience I lacked is larger now and so is the drive.

I have the skills, the experience, and knowledge, the character, and the dedication to TNP that makes me believe I am the right candidate for the job of Associate Justice. I hope you believe so as well.

Thank you for the question, Hileville, and may I compliment your new signature style :P Spoilers are IN!

As for the WA Limitations Ruling, I can't give the most competent judgement, since I'm not entirely familiar with the dispute of the Council of Five, and I would under no circumstance attempt to give a definite opinion of something I didn't fully understand. However, from what I can understand about the situation it seems that the Co5 edict was in fact a violation of the Bill of Rights. Justices must be frank in looking on all sides of the case instead of relying on the side presented :) Obviously, I am not currently regulated by WA nation in TNP today.

As to the Clause 9 Ruling, I believe that what was required was a simple definition. Was it necessarily the right one? I would say that if you begin to afford universal citizenship in the sense of a nation but not activity, then you can also begin to respond to the problems they have WITH the government, so I would agree wholeheartedly with the Court's ruling.

I’m voting for Iro.

I’m voting for Iro because he will bring a youthful exuberance to the court that’s a different style/perspective than our current justices.

Both Gaspo and Hileville are deservedly respected, but I think of the candidates for this election, I most look forward to the uniqueness Iro will bring to the established record of our other justices.

Having served on a number of courts (and still serving apparently), do you feel this will take time from the courts of the North Pacific? Why or why not?

What do you feel are your flaws? Do you believe that these flaws will hinder your work if you are elected?

I would like to thank Punk for his kind endorsement. It is much appreciated and I am glad to know you hold me in such kind respects! :)

Alvino, thank you for both the great questions. Firstly, I can most decidedly answer no. The level of activity you see here today is the level that my other obligations offer, and the level that I would, at the least, engage in here at TNP. However, I'm inclined to think that my election as a Justice would INCREASE that time here in TNP. To speak for myself, I don't think activity is ever a problem in relationship to other regions.

Secondly, I think I have the most flaws in my ability to gauge my own work. I thought a lot about that one, and I believe I simply may not always be able or willing to find a problem with what I've done unless someone explicitly tells me. So, I'm headstrong. Will this impact my work? It'll probably impact anything I do. But I choose to work around it and make the best of it by soliciting the most opinions of my allies as possible, and I think working with two other distinguished and respectable colleagues will give me a large toolbox to select from.

I'll be answering questions in #iro or #tnp on Esper right now if anyone wants to come :)

So, since there is just one day left for voting to open, I'd like to say a few words before we find the results.

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone that voted for me, publicly or privately. During the course of this election, I saw a great number of people that I hold much higher than myself in respects and admiration express confidence in my holding course in the judicial system. It amazes me that people such as Great Bights Mum, Flemingovia, and Romanoffia have that type of faith in me- for that reason, I thank you.

Second, I'd like to state my opinion and awareness of this election. It's looking very much like Sanctaria has the upper hand, and I think comments are best made before the results are released, and there's full honesty still happening; so I'll make a few comments. I am disappointed that less people took all that I had to offer, even people that I thought I had convinced, but no one's perfect. Whatever happens, I don't want to tread on Sanctaria or his reputation. I believe it was Blue Wolf who said it best when I was chatting in IRC about the culture of TNP's electorate. He put reputation over record for most people's decision, stating that it couldn't be changed. I suppose that's true.

In any event, my extreme kudos to Cormac for his run; I'd have voted for you, and for Sanctaria for the snap decision to put dedication in the right place.

Hail The North Pacific.
