New Evidence Surfaces in Navisgrad from 1992 Conflict
By Kellan Bradley (SPC)
14 Jan 2013
(NAVISGRAD) Recent evidence has been discovered by several residences in Navisgrad relating to the 1992 Serbalkian occupation. It has long been attested by Navisgradians and members of the Scandigradian parliament that multiple war crimes and human rights violations occurred within Navisgrad during the Serbalkian occupation in 1992, which lasted six months. Until recently, no evidence had been provided.
Near the western edge of the city, there is currently an effort to rebuild older parts of the city, many heavily damaged during the occupation. Since the Southern Tip has begun to have an economic upswing, many businesses are more willing to move their organization to southern parts of Scandigrad. War torn areas, particularly Navisgrad, have seen a great revitalization.
At 1532, Navisgrad PD responded to what was described as a discovery of "a large amount of human remains". Upon arrival at the scene, NPD determined that there were remains of at least 23 bodies on site. Decomposition analysis by forensic analysts determined that the remains were in fact from the 1992 conflict era. Furthermore, NPD released a statement that every single skull had a hole that resembled that of an "execution style" shooting.
While the investigation is still ongoing, this seems to be the first step in providing some level of evidence that human rights violations did occur in Navisgrad in 1992. Mitchell has yet to comment on the situation, but the Minister's Villa Press Corps has assured us that "The Prime Minister is aware of the unfolding situation".
The remains have been transferred to the Scandigrad Investigation Service to continue the ongoing investigation. They expect to release a report by next Tuesday, 22 January.
