New Evidence Surfaces in Navisgrad from 1992 Conflict
By Kellan Bradley (SPC)
14 Jan 2013

(NAVISGRAD) Recent evidence has been discovered by several residences in Navisgrad relating to the 1992 Serbalkian occupation. It has long been attested by Navisgradians and members of the Scandigradian parliament that multiple war crimes and human rights violations occurred within Navisgrad during the Serbalkian occupation in 1992, which lasted six months. Until recently, no evidence had been provided.

Near the western edge of the city, there is currently an effort to rebuild older parts of the city, many heavily damaged during the occupation. Since the Southern Tip has begun to have an economic upswing, many businesses are more willing to move their organization to southern parts of Scandigrad. War torn areas, particularly Navisgrad, have seen a great revitalization.

At 1532, Navisgrad PD responded to what was described as a discovery of "a large amount of human remains". Upon arrival at the scene, NPD determined that there were remains of at least 23 bodies on site. Decomposition analysis by forensic analysts determined that the remains were in fact from the 1992 conflict era. Furthermore, NPD released a statement that every single skull had a hole that resembled that of an "execution style" shooting.

While the investigation is still ongoing, this seems to be the first step in providing some level of evidence that human rights violations did occur in Navisgrad in 1992. Mitchell has yet to comment on the situation, but the Minister's Villa Press Corps has assured us that "The Prime Minister is aware of the unfolding situation".

The remains have been transferred to the Scandigrad Investigation Service to continue the ongoing investigation. They expect to release a report by next Tuesday, 22 January.

Tensions Rise as Investigation Confirms Serbalkian War Crimes
Kellan Bradley (SPC)
23 Jan 13

(NAVISGRAD) Investigations following the uncovering of a mass grave site discovered on the western edge of Navisgrad has linked the bodies to Serbalkian forces, which occupied the region during a six month occupation in 1992. The grave site was discovered while clearing out destroyed buildings for future development. The site contained 23 bodies, all containing a single gunshot wound to the skull, and estimated to be deceased for at least 11 years.

In a statement released by the Scandigrad Investigative Service (SIS), forensic evidence has confirmed that the 23 victims were killed in an execution style, and were all confirmed to be from Scandigrad. Further evidence did reveal trace amounts of gun residue. The SIS also confirmed that, based off several bullets found inside the skulls, and other bullets found on scene, that the victims were killed by Serbalkian arms.

"This is a shocking discovery" announced Adam Middleton, director of the SIS. "We sincerely hope that these remains can be identified, and bring closure to their families."

Tensions have skyrocketed between Scandigrad and Serbalkia. The former 'motherland' still asserts claims of sovereignty over the Commonwealth, but systematically denies any accusations of war crimes during the Second Serbalkian War. Tensions seemed to be easing, with a plan of a "peace conference" only four months away, which has now been cancelled unless "Scandigrad withdraws claims of war crimes against the Kingdom of Serbalkia," according to their embassy in KiwiTaicho.

Body Count Increases as Additional Mass Grave Sites Discovered Near Navisgrad
Helan Romanov (SPC)
27 January 2013

(NAVISGRAD) Evidence found at the first mass grave site discovered in Navisgrad has lead to the discovery of other locations. The initial body count from the Serbalkian occupation has jumped from 23 to at least 170 identifiable human remains.

Prime Minister Mitchell has commented on the matter, declaring "the atrocities committed by the Serbalkians during their occupation of the Southern Tip and Coastal Districts were nothing short of war crimes. With any hope, the international community can see this, and can help us in bringing those responsible to justice."

Additional evidence has also surfaced, including actual home video footage of the Serbalkian occupation. The authenticity of some of these tapes remain in question, but are currently under investigation. Should their authenticity be confirmed, they will be added to a mounting list of evidence against Serbalkian military leaders from the occupation eleven years ago.

"Hopefully with these discoveries, closure can be brought to some families, and those responsible can be brought to justice," Adam Middleton, SIS chief, stated during an interview yesterday evening.

The number of Scandigradians reported missing during the 1992 Serbalkian occupation of Navisgrad numbers around 2,000. Unconfirmed reports of those killed wavers between 200 and 5,000.

This new evidence comes at a poor time for Scandigradian and Serbalkian relations, as tensions continue to mount over the legitimacy of this new evidence, and refusal to acknowledge any wrongdoing on the behalf of the Serbalkian government.

New Scandigrad Flag Unveiled Over Capitol
Justin Neuevo (SPC)
1 May 2013

(Scandigrad City) The long rumored new flag was finally flown over the Scandigrad Capitol building today, and was also featured prominently behind the Speaker in today's General Assembly meeting. The flag features a large white stripe, off center towards the flag pole. The white stripe is accented by a gold stripe, and is put on a dark blue background.

An official press release outlined the meaning of each color:

"As with the old flag, the Blue background signifies the loyalty and integrity of Scandigrad, as well as each and every Scandigradian.

The gold signifies the success and triumph of Scandigrad.

Finally, the white signifies the purity of the Scandigradian land, and it's people."

The new flag was fairly well received. Many considered the old flag to be too warmongerish, and felt it created a bad impression internationally. "The new flag seems more acceptable, more natural. And it doesn't seem like we're gonna bomb the first third world nation we set our eyes on," University of Scandigrad City student Kymberly Gunnerson said.

Some still favored the old flag. "It shows we're willing to kick some ass and won't take your shit," a man who identified himself as "Old Man Jenkins" said. "Now everyone thinks we aren't willing to stand up for ourselves."

All government facilities will be flying the new flag today as well.
