That was a sudden turn, what prompted the decision?
Tyler was tasked with a responsibility.
He refused to perform the duty. He, essentially, disagreed with a case that he was responsible to prosecute. He had his reasons, of course, but current law does not give the AG's office license to decide what to prosecute and what not to prosecute.
I need a Deputy AG who will abide by current law even if they personally object to what the law requires them to do.
Unfortunately, Tyler's personal convictions did not allow him to do this. I respect his decision but cannot have him continue in his role.
