- TNP Nation
- McMasterdonia
Firstly, I would like to thank my competitors for an interesting election. As always, filled with some robust debate, and some hard hitting questions. Of course a thank you to all who voted for me, I have been given a strong mandate by the electorate, and I will do my best as your Delegate.
I have thanked our allies for their support during the unendorsement campaign against our Vice Delegate Tim, I have officially requested that they switch their endorsements from Tim's nation to my own to assist in the transition. I have also sent out telegrams to all WA members that are yet to endorse me. It is my hope that the transition will be dealt with quickly and within a few updates.
A few issues to address:
The Council
I have decided that I will not call immediate Council elections. Recently the Council unanimously agreed to change the Directive to holding the votes on forum, the electorate being made up of all TNP citizens and RA members. I would like input from the region if they would like to see an elective cabinet continue.
I will also be drafting up a simpler Directive. It will provide a clearer vision for each Ministry, and remove some of the more complex clauses.
Foreign Affairs
I am going to finish a Foreign Update and post it onto the forum for ideas and input. It's important that we get this update out as soon as possible. I will be switching the responsibility of the writing of the Foreign Update over to the Minister for Foreign Affairs. The Minister may request for articles to be submitted and other members of the government will endeavour to assist him in this. Updates will be fun, colourful and exciting, not just a collection of links.
I will also be going through the inactive embassies. We will issue a notice to inactive embassies with a clear date for when we require a response by. While it's important to recognize that not all regions are as fortunate as us, when it comes to regular population growth and activity, we will be removing embassies that are inactive, provided that we have not had a prolonged cultural or historical connection to that region.
Lastly I will be reviewing the Ambassadors list, and the diplomatic reports template. I will be assigning specific individuals, to certain regions. Particularly those where opportunities for stronger relations and better connections exist.
Culture and Entertainment
Romanoffia is the current Minister for Culture and Entertainment. I will ask that Romanoffia step up his efforts to provide more entertainment for our citizens.
Tournaments and games for us all to participate in, with rewards, shinies all the good stuff will be occurring. Members wishing to assist Romanoffia or myself in this, should message either of us. We also welcome your suggestions in this thread.
Finally I will say that I am in discussions with the Foreign Minister of one of our closes allies, a joint cultural event may well be on the horizon.
Communications and The Future of the Wire
My vision for the TNP Wire has changed over time. I believe that other current councillors back me on this. The TNP-Wire will no longer be the means for which we post our regional update. Instead I see it becoming more a regional newspaper, one that we distribute Weekly or Fortnightly. Going forward, we will need to assess how realistic this target is.
It is my desire for this Wire to report on not only internal matters of TNP, but also the goings on in the outside world. It will be posted to regions, the NS forums and beyond. Not exclusively to regions we hold alliances with either. An application thread will be opened for citizens to apply to get involved in the TNP-Wire. All articles will be submitted to the Editor, the Minister for Communications for approval. Eluvatar has agreed to continue on as Minister for Communications until elections are held.
Defence and the NPA
Right now, I will ask that the North Pacific Army remain in TNP until the Delegate transition is over and we are fully secure. Scandigrad and Gladio will share responsibility over the North Pacific Army until such a point that elections are held. I've held the position of Minister for Defence for at an estimate of at least 7 months or so now. I feel fully confident in giving the administration over the NPA to those two fine gentlemen.
World Assembly Affairs
We need to continue the work on matters before the World Assembly that has been achieved in the last term. I instruct Minister Mahaj to immediately begin giving his commentary on current proposals, so that our citizens are fully informed on how they vote. In compliance with the Directive, I will also be looking for a national-sovereignty thinking individual to assist Mahaj in his duties. This will allow us to hear a balance of views when making our decisions on how we vote.
In Conclusion
As I said in my campaign thread, as Delegate I intend to be an overseer and hold ministers to account, while at the same time offering a clear vision for the Ministries, and allowing for a consensus behind this vision.
I will also be encouraging community cabinet meetings, where citizens can join us and ask questions. It's something that is done in my RL country, and it is highly effective. There will also be a thread in the Delegates forum for questions directed at me. I will encourage individual Ministers to maintain an office, where such questions can be given.
Elected Ministers are an important part of the Government. I will as necessary be appointing other officials to assist them in the carrying out of their duties. If you new, and inexperienced, it's the best time to get involved. Feel free to drop me a Personal message, and I'll get back to you.
Thank you for allowing me to serve!
