Jamie for Attorney General

Hi, I'm running for the position of Attorney General for the second time and would greatly appreciate your vote. As before, I'll keep my platform brief, and here are my reasons why I think you should vote for me to serve the region as AG.

I'm a big believer in efficiency in judicial matters, and that would be how I would organize my duties, if elected as AG. If I was elected, I would address any outstanding cases, both previously dismissed ones and current complaints. In regards to what would make me dismiss a complaint, the only reason I can think of is the indictment filed cannot legally be filed. If I was personally unsure on the complaint's merit, I would ask the court whether the indictment can legally be filed. I plan to be an approachable AG, I intend to make a thread to allow people to question my performance as AG, ask what am I currently working on, or if they have any general questions relating to the office.

If I was elected, I will appoint two deputies who will be tasked with assisting with determining merits of cases and whether it would be worth continuing with an indictment for the complaint. They would also take over from myself if a complaint filed resulted in me having a conflict of interest and being unable to prosecute. If elected, I will never ignore a complaint brought before me, and will address all complaints fairly and equally.

As before, my platform is short, but I feel it generally says what I intend to do if elected, and how I would act while in office.
If you have questions, feel free to ask.

I have a question for you as a candidate for Attorney General - what will your stance be on the half a dozen cases which were blocked by former Attorney General Grosseschnauzer and have now faded away. A motion has been made by Blue Wolf for these cases to be reinstated, what will your position be on that?

I would look at all cases dismissed by the Former Attorney General, and re-open them for further review. If I believe the case would be worth pursuing, which almost all cases, I would believe, the case would be taken to the court.

Hey Jamie, here's a question for you:

Should the Attorney General have discretion over which of the cases brought to their office to bring to trial?

I have mixed feelings about this. I would never outright reject a case (nor can I, legally), though I would appoint an alternative prosecutor if I personally didn't believe that the case should be brought to trial. However, I believe the court would usually be able to make a sensible ruling about whether a case is prosecutable or not, and if I was unsure, I would ask the court.
