After serving 151 days in Buckingham Palace, King George announced on Sunday, 25 November 2012, his intentions to abdicate the throne immediately. After a period of mourning by HM Government, Judiciary, Parliament, and Citizenry, the region is now moving forward once again. His daughter, the now current Queen, stated:

"It's always disheartening to see a Monarch abdicating, even worse when the situation isn't the best, but we must stand together in unity, as we have so done in the past."

King George now goes by Marshall G. Holdstock, will continue to remain in the region and serve as its World Assembly Delegate.

On 25 November 2012, almost immediately after King George announced his abdication, the Archbishop of Canterbury George William de Clare, began preparations for the Coronation of HM Queen Anne II, formerly known as HRH Corinne the Princess of Wales. Within the next two hours, the coronation service began in Westminster Abbey at 2:25 PM. Her Majesty was presented with the crown jewels, said the coronation oath, and was soon enthrowned before her loyal subjects. Queen Anne soon after addressed the people with her first speech and announcing her Prince of Wales, HRH Alexander W. G. Scott, who has has undoubted experience in the workings of our region's monarchy, serving over ten months as Private Secretary to our Sovereign. God Save the Queen! Long may she reign!

New Additions to the Supreme Court

After Chief Justice Jacob Stewart was removed for excessive inactivity, deliberations began for a suitable replacement. Upon much consideration, former King George and Prime Minister Edward Cavendish decided that the best candidate would be Mrs. Constance St.James, who formerly worked on the bench as the longest serving Justice in United Kingdom's history. Her success in the courts is immense and will surely continue as it has before.

With a position being vacant as Jr. Associate Justice, Prime Minister Edward Cavendish also chose Edwin Tiberius de Clare as a suitable candidate for the role. Edwin is a graduate of the University of United Kingdom with Magna cum laude honors, and has had previous judicial experience, serving as Attorney General. Justice de Clare has presided over several cases in his short time on the bench thus far and will continue to on into the future.

Nation Count on the Rise

After a drop in the nation count from 145 to the low 130s, Home Secretary George de Clare, along with the Prime Minister and his cabinet, have led a massive recruitment effort. With much hard work and dedication, the region's nation count has risen to 157. Recruitment will remain a central asset in the Cavendish Premiership, awarding those who do so both honorarily and financially.

After the Honourable MP for Northern England had fallen inactive, the other members sought to seek his removal successfully. Her Majesty Queen Anne responded by issuing a writ of election to occur on the Second of December. Chief Justice Constance St.James opened registration on Tuesday, November 28th. Candidates will have until Sunday night at midnight to make their registrations. Fmr. Prime Minister Edwin de Clare's Executive Order is still in place, barring any collection of fees to run. The region eagerly awaits as more and more candidates are applying.

After serving thirty-eight days as our Kingdom’s Monarch, Queen Anne II announced her intention to abdicate the throne, on January 2nd 2013. Although her reign was short in time it was filled with accomplishment, and proved to be a productive period in United Kingdom’s history seeing the establishment of our first dominion. Queen Anne plans to remain active in the region, the people look forward to her continued companionship on the forums. The former Queen now goes by Charlotte, will continue serve the people as Secretary of State for the Home Office.

Message from 10 Downing Street
By: Edward Cavendish

"Recently we have seen the United Kingdom gain a Dominion in the form of the United Kingdom of Denmark. This is indeed a momentous occasion. For the first time in our long and proud history we have forged ourselves the grand start of a British Commonwealth, led by our glorious Monarch, King Alexander II. We, as citizens, have united in common purpose with our peers in Denmark in order to open a new chapter in what will be a joint history between our two peoples.

I have been very proud for playing a prominent part in ensuring this Dominion transition could be brought about, and I trust that the Motherland-Dominion relationship between UK and UKD can only increase in warmth and friendship.

This, however, is by no means the end. We have now created the British Commonwealth, and my Government will always seek to further increase His Majesty's borders. We will always be open to welcoming more regions into our Commonwealth family, and I trust that in future, when the relationship between Denmark and United Kingdom has truly matured, we will see new and fresh Dominions entering the Commonwealth fold, for the glory and success of all."

New Era of Economics

After many months of waiting in hopes of AiO to return, United Kingdom's then Chancellor of the Exchequer Edwin de Clare and then Deputy Chancellor Alex Beckett, decided to take this behemoth of a challenge into their own hands. The new system is simply called the Regional Banking System, in which the Governor of the Bank of England now leads. This system requires a lot of work with setting up individual banking accounts with their own pin numbers, but with the dedicated team currently under Chancellor Victor Cavendish, there is finally hope in a restored economy.

On top of the new system, HM Treasury has introduced a new institution that acts as an insurance to banks and businesses who qualify and apply called the Regional Reserve System created by Chancellor Victor Cavendish. The Treasury will also be introducing a bond system which will allow security to those who are weary of current economic times and allow their money to grow within the Kingdom..

Christmas Day General Election (Continued Gains for the BPU)
437099(0)-m220132_76625.jpg

The British People’s Union (BPU) maintains its position as the majority party. The BPU under the leadership of Prime Minister Cavendish saw all of its candidates successfully elected or re-elected during the Christmas Day General Election. As it stands all current members of Parliament are either members of the BPU or have received the party’s endorsement (as was the case for the seat for Wales). Prime Minister Edward Cavendish was re-elected for his second full term easily defeating the Sinn Fein candidate (South Boston Irishman) with 72.41% of the overall vote. The BPU was formed by His Majesty King Alexander II and the Princess Royal; they have also been the majority party for the nineteenth through twenty-first sessions of parliament. With the return of their party founder (South Boston Irishman) Sinn Fein ran an organized although ultimately unsuccessful campaign. With his newly found super majority Prime Minister Cavendish continues to make positive changes and progress toward the BPU’s goal of insuring continued prosperity in United Kingdom.
