Political Party Subforums

I find it very ridiculous for a Political Party to be a topic. There should be a place on the forums where the political parties can be placed. I dont know if it will be good for each party chairman to request a password for the forum. Secondly, If this idea is approved I suggest that only masked members can see the forums.

There shall be a forum called ''Political Parties'' That forum will include information of the political parties. If one wants to create a Political Party they shall post their request their and wait for the approval from the chosen authority. No Political Party will have a subforum unless they have a total of 6 members and above. The forums will be moderated by the party chairman or equivalent and one global moderator.

I think that we should have the sub forums because it keeps the party more organized. The political party topics are not even pinned and I doubt they will be which makes it harder to find. Secondly, when we have the forum the party chairman can pin topics of various interest/discussion.

I don't know if private party fora are appropriate; certainly the Progressive Party almost certainly would not ask for one.

But a public area where the party could have some pinned topics and various discussion threads could be nifty. If we could have a fair standard for what is a political party which deserves a board.

If this is possible, there are actually some layout changes I'd like to suggest that this would work well with.

The Progressive Party would be able to use a dedicated subforum by creating a pinned and closed topic with our policies (currently, our resolutions, in future hopefully our charter and resolutions) and with our membership, as well as dedicated topics for Congress convocations and for Congress logs.

We'd be able to create individual topics for discussion of and voting on the results of our Congresses, as well.

wait for the approval of the Delegate
.

I disagree with this. It effectively gives the delegate control over which parties are allowed. Do we really want that?

Seems fairly sensible.

The forums will be moderated by the party chairman and one global moderator.

You assume all parties will have a chairman. insert "Or equivalent"

By the way, I assume these party areas will be in the roleplay area since they are not a recognised part of our political structure?

I mirror the majority of Flem's points. Although I am ardently opposed to any form of masking being required.

Not only do Admins have enough work to do but it's completely unnecessary.

We have had this discussion in the past, and since political parties are unregulated and should be unregulated under the Bill of Rights, the feeling was that parties could have their own thread in the appropriate area of the forums. This goes way back to the last Constitution, when it was discussed and debated, IIRC.

There is no evidence that subforums are needed.

A fair compromise might be one subforums for all political parties and they can fight on how they want to organize that one area among themselves. I really do not want forum administration getting involved in this. Since such organizations have historically been extra-governmental in TNP, I am not really inclined to make them goverhmental as it leads to exclusion in the long run, and not inclusion.
