Oh, that whacky PM system

Romanoffia

Garde à l'eau!
I tried to send a PM to multiple users (A MoEA memorandum) and got this:

pmsysteml.jpg

Oddly enough, these users do indeed exist. :P

And, oddly enough, if send the PMs individually, the users suddenly 'exist'.

And, even more oddly enough, PMs sent to multiple users fail randomly for the same reason, but sometimes still go out even though you get the same whacky message, sometimes.

This ever happen to anyone else?

IIRC, the last Elu said about the matter was that we'd have to use a work-around involving something external to Zetaboards, but I don't think it was ever further explained.

We do know that the multiple PM add-on that we adopted while on Invisionfree does not work on the Zetaboards platform and IIRC, Zetaboards did not plan on introducing it as a feature. But that information was quite a while back.

If you got it to work at all McMasterdonia, you were very very lucky.

The reason that particular feature does not work is that ZB disabled the ability for AJAX requests on the members list. When they did that the script that is being used for this add on broke. If Elu knows of a way to work around the AJAX request to the member list that would be awesome as the feature is really nice to have.

The way to do it is similar to how I got the sc-alerts page to work.

Just, the members list is not as clean an API as the NationStates API D:
