The national anthem depends on the name of the traditional head of state according to the customs of the schnauzerlands federation.
Currently the traditional head of state is Kinderlieb the Third, affectionately known as Lieb, and thus the anthem is sung as:

Du grüßt mich jeden Morgen,
Sehe ich dich,
Freue ich mich,
Und vergess' meine Sorgen.
Schmücke das Heimatland,
Schön und schwarz,
Blühest wie die Sterne.

Ach, ich hab dich so gerne.

English translation (not exact in order to fit the melody):

The original was adopted during the lifetime of Edelweiss the First:
Edelweiß, Edelweiß,

Blühest wie die Sterne.

During the reign of Kinderlieb the Second, these lyrics were retained, with the sole substitution of the name. During the reign of Edelweiss the Second, the original lyrics were used. Because the current traditional head of state is mostly black in color and not white (silver or gray), the lyrics were modified slightly to reflect that.

There's now a small change in my anthem. As the capital of Ilerien was moved to the great city of Alexandrie the following verse should be:
