Repeal "Commend The Quote Of The Day":
WA Security Council Resolution #45: Commend The Quote Of The Day shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: The Security Council,

RECOGNIZING that The Quote of the Day (TQOTD) failed to deliver the "quotes of wisdom" in the days leading to the fall of the nation,

POINTING OUT that many nations participate in the same activities described in the minimal commendation of The Quote of the Day, including traveling to regions and leaving quotes of wisdom and congratulations, and that The Quote of the Day is only one of multiple nations that leave such greetings for regions,

ACKNOWLEDGING that TQOTD wrote very minimalistic greetings, and that many messages left by TQOTD contained the same, copied content with a minor salutation,

DISTURBED by the cherry-picking policies employed by TQOTD and the refusal to visit regions that did not agree with TQOTD's policy, and that the original Commendation in question blatantly lies about this point,

NOTING that The Quote of the Day does not perform any unique or special world-changing activities, nor do the actions of The Quote of the Day affect the world or the World Assembly at large,

FURTHER NOTING that TQOTD no longer exists as a nation, and wishing to remove a Commendation from a nation that no longer exists in order to prune the halls of the Security Council,

WISHING TO, instead, pave the way for a future Commendation of the The Featured Region Followers as a whole and refrain from Commending individual members of the aforementioned region,

HEREBY REPEALS Commend The Quote of the Day.

This is an informational review of the SC Resolution-At-Vote, “Repeal "Commend Quote of the Day"” published by The North Pacific's Ministry of World Assembly Affairs for your convenience and consideration.

The main reasons for repealing "Commend Quote of the Day" that have been expressed is that (1) the player, “Quote of the Day” has left the game thus he isn’t as dedicated as the original commendation suggested, (2) The Quote of the Day was commended for following from featured region to featured region and celebrating their featuredness – this was not unique, (3) "Commend Quote of the Day" suggested the player was very inclusive and delivered messages of goodwill “without exception or prejudice”, but in fact, the player in question, The Quote of the Day, intentionally did not visit Nazi Europe to wish the region well.

The choice to not include Nazi Europe’s name in this repeal was a deliberate political tactic. Bearing these thoughts in mind, The Ministry of the World Assembly Affairs is critical of “Repeal "Commend Quote of the Day"” because, first, it assumes that we need to remove commendations for nations when they cease to exist – precedent dictates not so, in the case of Goobergunchia; besides, if a nation has earned a commendation, why does the mere ceasing-to-exist negate all the commendable things they have done?

Second, we find it odd that the actions of The Quote of the Day are viewed by the repeal as “[not affecting] the world or the World Assembly at large”, yet the repeal likewise promotes a commendation of The Featured Region Followers which does very similar work as The Quote of the Day did. Furthermore, the repeal of The Quote of the Day’s commendation is not necessary for the potential commendation of The Featured Region Followers to also pass.

Lastly, The Ministry questions whether someone should lose their commendation because they were not “inclusive” to Nazism (a philosophy which taken to a racist extent is by no means inclusive in and of itself) especially when The North Pacific has never been known to promote Nazism and recently closed an embassy being constructed between The North Pacific and The Greater German Reich.

For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs has (1) recommended that the delegate vote "AGAINST" Repeal "Commend Quote of the Day", and (2) calls upon all member-states in The North Pacific (that's you!) to carefully consider the viewpoints expressed in this informational statement. Thank you.

Yours,
Unibot
Minister of World Assembly Affairs in The North Pacific.

I have a bias against repeals unless good cause is shown, and CTEing (which may have happend for the most understandable of reasons) per se is not a good cause shown, as far as I am concerned.

AGAINST.
