The Judicial Elections have been archived.

The Voting Booth is coming under the control of Election Commissioner Hileville for the May elections, as noted here shortly.

The Delegate is expected to announce a calendar for the May 2012 General Elections which resembles the following:

Nominations: May 1st through May 7th.
Voting: May 11th through May 17th.

For reference, candidates must have joined the RA before April 1st to stand in the election, and it has been the practice to require voters to have joined the RA before May 1st.

The general elections will involve election of a Delegate, a Vice Delegate, and a Speaker for the term from [probably] May 18th through September 17th. The Delegate and Vice Delegate must be elected by a majority of those voting for a candidate, so if there are more than 2 candidates a runoff might be required. There are no mandated rules for runoff elections but by convention they involve voting between the top 2 candidates of the original result for a period no longer than 7 days.

I'm going to archive the out of date campaigning threads as well, because with frequent informal Council of Five elections, it is going to otherwise get confusing very quickly.

Said archive is located here, by the by.

As a note, this is the General Election calendar, as recorded in the forum's calendar.

Nominations: September 1st through September 7th.
Voting: September 11th through September 17th.

For reference, candidates must have joined the RA by August 2nd to stand in the election, (although if the drafted Constitutional reform passes, that date changes to August 17th) and it has been the practice to require voters to have joined the RA before September 11th to vote.

The general elections will involve election of a Delegate, a Vice Delegate, and a Speaker for the term from [probably] September 18th through January 17th. The Delegate and Vice Delegate must be elected by a majority of those voting for a candidate, so if there are more than 2 candidates a runoff might be required. There are no mandated rules for runoff elections but by convention they involve voting between the top 2 candidates of the original result for a period no longer than 7 days.

PS: The Delegate (me) is to appoint (an) Election Commissioner(s) by August 24th.

In light of Unibot's resignation, I will be holding a Council of Five election beginning next week on Tuesday August 21st. Nominations will be August 21st-24th. Voting will be August 25th-31st. The new Council of Five will take office September second.

Opened Council of Five election, archived Special Election and lingering Council of Five results from previous election.
