McMasterdonia
King Johnslo walked the halls of Tiydes Palace, reflecting on all the things that have happened in the past few years. As the sound of his boots on the marble floor echoed throughout the palace, he could not help but feel empty and sad. The palace had seen many battles, and most famously was where his mother Queen Sophia had made her speech from the throne using her authority to attend a military coup attempt in 1974. It now stood empty, isolated, a shadow of its former glory.

Ever since the accidental death of Prince Walter, King Johnslo's first child, the buidling had remained empty. The Queen refusing to ever step inside it again. As he rounded a corner and faced the throne room, the King saw his wife, Queen Meghan kneeling before a photo of the King Harold XIV the founder of democracy and parliamentarianism in the Kingdom. This was Prince Walts favourite photo, as his ancestor had a comical look on his face and was riding upon a pig instead of a horse, a sign of his humility and humour. The King stood still, shocked that his wife had ventured into the Palace.

Queen Meghan raised herself from the altar, an expression of renewal on her face.

"I feel whole again. I have been selfish keeping this place locked up from the public because of my loss. It is time that we restore it to its former glory, and use it for good. As Walt would have wanted..."

"What would you have me do, my Queen?"

"Tiydes Palace shall be a centre of art and learning. We shall use it to display works of Art, Sculpture and Design from throughout the region. It once again will contribute to the culture and fabric of our society".

Memorandum

To Nations of The North Pacific,

The King and Queen of McMasterdonia are requesting any contribution of art and culture to the new museum that will be opening in Tiydes Palace.

The Gallery will aim to display the art and culture of a great region and from a cross-section of our fine society. All contributions, large and small, will be welcomed. The region has become increasingly disjoint, with individual nations becoming more and more secular and closed.

The Gallery of Tiydes Palace gives us all the opportunity to display what is great and good in our region. It will help to foster social inclusion and sharing amongst us all, and will prove to be a great asset to our prosperous region. Contributing nations will be invited to attend the grand opening of the Gallery on the anniversary of Prince Walt's death. It shall be a grand occasion, full of joy, hope, and celebrating the great future we share in our region.

Sincerely

King Johnslo and Queen Meghan

The nation of Novare Res would like to create and contribute art to the gallery for an exhibition on "Political Artwork from The North Pacific's Past and Present" to help kick this off.

Ator People would like to offer, on loan, a piece from the collection of the Grand Duke of Anchin:

charlesipainting.jpg

This painting, titled "King Charles I" is an oil on canvas piece by François-Thomas Lefevre completed in 1804.

On Charles I:

In 1800 Henry's [III] son, Charles I, took over at the age of 16. Much to the surprise of the nation, he instituted a policy of peace. The military was reorganized to be just enough to defend the island. The island joined the regional government of The North Pacific, though it maintained its own sovereignty. With increased trade and commerce, the economy of the country flourished. His reign is considered by historians to be the "Golden Age" of Ator People. For fifty-one years he kept the country out of conflict. In 1805 he founded Parliament, a legislative body elected by the people. Each province elected 10 representatives which could pass laws. It is assumed he retained a veto, but he never used it once while king. In 1820 he issued an executive order creating the "Religion Act of 1820." In 1851, he was assassinated by a militaristic group within the country, which sought to take over the throne.

We felt this painting could be of particular significance to this gallery since it was Charles I who formally joined The North Pacific regional government. You might notice that the painting shows Charles I with a shield but no sword. Because of Charles' move towards a defensive military, the artist thought it appropriate to symbolize this in the piece.

The King and Queen express their thanks to both of you honourable nations for your contributions.

We present a portrait of the first meeting of the noble houses of McMasterdonia and Romanov in the Capital of Magicality City.

The King and Queen of McMasterdonia are featured at the centre of the painting. This meeting was to help foster strong social, political and economical ties between the two nations.

Among the tales of daring exploits, undiscovered civilisations and debilitating gastroenteritis; were exciting and amazing descriptions of new a fabulous animals that Enrico discovered, observed and then shot! Civilisation 1, untamed wilds 0.

The Namyeknomian court artist spent many hours consulting Enrico to produce this:

Oh look, it's Princess Beatrice, HI :D

This picture was taking by The Queen's Press Secretary on her coronation.

I don't know which woman is Beatrice :P

Well, your mother looked very young during her coronation (even like a teenage girl).

My turn:

In this case you should call him per "King Johnslo/Your Majesty" if you speak about respect :P

But if I were Johnslo I would avoid that "ugly" part xd
Anyway, just skip that.
