Description: The General Assembly,

Recognizing the inherent dignity of all people,

Promoting the welfare of the peoples of its member states,

2. Decrees that no employer, as a condition of employment, shall require a wage earner to work more than 30 percent of the time in a given week;

3. Allows individual member states to set limits of less time than this requirement;

4. Encourages employers to compensate wage earners who work more than the working limit at higher rates;

5. Recommends that member states and persons in member states do not purchase goods from companies in non-member states that require wage earners, as a condition of employment, to work more than 30 percent of the time in a given week; and

6. Affirms that this resolution does not affect salaried employees and does not prevent wage earners from voluntarily working for employers more than 30 percent of the time in a given week.
