Limi points out that we are supposed to have the Delegate appoint an Election Commissioner a week in advance of the first of the month, for the October Judicial Elections. Since we apparently don't have a Delegate elected yet, could perhaps incumbent Delegate Blackshear appoint someone? Alternatively, TNP Law 26 allows incumbent Speaker Felasia to do so. Or will allow Speaker A Mean Old Man to do so.

I'd be willing to perform the work of Election Commissioner, if asked. Of course in my opinion it's actually best to have two of them.

For reference, here is the relevant part of TNP Law 26:

TNP Law 26 Section two:
1. The election cycle for the 6-month terms of The Judiciary, including the Chief Justice, and the Attorney General, shall begin on the first day of the months of April and October.
2. The Delegate must select one or more Election Commissioners to oversee the nomination and election processes, at least one week before the month in which the Election Cycle begins. If an appointment of Election Commissioners has not been made by that time, the Speaker shall promptly make the appointment within 48 hours.

As I have just taken the oath of office as Delegate, I will confirm Eluvatar's appointment by Blackshear as Election Commissioner, and I will offer Govindia the option to serve as Eluvatar's deputy EC; I think it would help smooth the waters at this point. We should confirm that neither Eluvatar nor Govindia plan to seek election to the Court or as Attorney General, before making it final.
 
After my term is over as Justice I will not be seeking a second term for this election cycle, so I am willing to accept the Deputy Election Commissioner post if that is ok with Grosse.
 
I am ineligible to run for any judicial position so of course I'm not running. I wouldn't have offered to serve as EC if I planned on running.

I object to the appointment of Govindia as Electoral Commissioner after his recent performance as General Election Commissioner in the strongest of terms. However, Grosseschnauzer is free to send him the new password to the Voting Booth if he is certain. (I was not aware of this appointment when I changed it.)

I did the job as best as I could during confusion, and Grosse appointed me to help with the transition Elu, so please just deal with it and learn to get along with people.

Please send me the PW as I have one thing to do as EC re: the past election. Thank you for your understanding :)

Either you did not do the job as best as you could, or the best you can do is unacceptable.

I am basing my objection on the objectively visible fact that this election was a complete and utter fiasco. Yes part of that is no-one's fault, or Felasia's fault, or Chief Justice FALKONCATS' fault. But based on the complaints I have received, every single thing you did as Election Commissioner exacerbated the problem. I am certain that you have violated TNP Law 26 and the North Pacific Bill of Rights. It doesn't matter if you did so unintentionally. It would be irresponsible to put you in the position to make that mistake or commit that crime (whichever it is) again.

I apologize if any part of this post was overly harsh. After all, it does seem that I don't actually know how to get along with people, bear with me as I learn. I do believe however that every word of it is true.

I am prepared to work with Govindia as my assistant as it is an opportunity for a teachable moment.

The password to the Voting Booth account has been changed again. The deputy will be provided it if and only when necessary.

Wisdom finally prevails.

I think the current leaders of the region have to make a concerted effort to bring along the next generation of leaders so that they're prepared to do so. This is not the first time I have been the head of government in TNP, as I served two terms as Prime Minister under the last Constitution, and that principle was one of the things I advocated then.
