This office has open for any citizen with any questions concerning legality, legality of certain government actions, or legal redress for any government action.

The goal of this office is to better serve our region's citizens with any questions about our new Constitution and Legal Code, to better bring our laws into the every day life of this region, and to better connect with the citizenry about our laws and institutions.

While I certainly agree with the appointment of an Attorney General as the sometimes necessary representative of the government before the Court I am unsure that some of the seemingly wide-ranging authorities presumed in the OP are actually Constitutional.

The legality of governmental actions are subject to judicial review, not AG interpretation. The same can be said for redress concerning those legal claims.

The Attorney General certainly has the authority to seek prosecution before the Court for myriad issues but I am not sure the wording is wholly appropriate unless it is simply to clarify that the AG will be providing citizens with non-binding opinion.

Clarification would be most welcome.
 
I am in no way intending to justify all government actions as legal but to merely respond with answers to the best of my ability. The ultimate justification is of course left to the Court alone and just as my job entails, it is to represent the argument for justification.

I believe our government can do good and that the law is on our side. Sadly too few people know what the law is and I`m hoping to inform them. This Desk serves as to help those who may feel blindsided by government actions, may question legality; and to provide answers.

I`m hoping to provide mediation to settle disputes rather than messy legal fights.
