The Azure Alliance is a formalized bond between The North Pacific, The Pacific, The South Pacific, and Taijitu that, at its most basic, pledges each member to the mutual defense of each other member. This grants each alliance a certain degree of greater security and safety when dealing with potentially hostile regions or nations. This, in turn, grants us a greater latitude in dealing with such things. At a more advanced level, the Alliance also creates communication and colloboration among the partners. So far, this has mostly been on issues such as defense or military policy, mainly in regards to The East Pacific. Now that the Empire has dissolved, it remains to be seen what will take priority.
The treaty also encourages more member-level interaction between the regions, though this has yet to materialize in any significant fashion. I would encourage anyone interested to go ahead and sign up on the forums of The Pacific, TSP, and Taijitu and to get to know them.
The treaty makes it easier for us to present a united face on policy and military actions, but it does not require us to follow every whim of the other regions. The only true requirement is that we do defend them should it be necessary, and vice versa. Otherwise, we work together to formulate common positions and discuss plans on issues that are relevant to all of us, and we try to build a common consensus and take common action from there.
