Proposed Amendment to the Constitution

Gracius Maximus

Tyrant (Ret.)
In order to assist in keeping the Constitution and Legal Code in compliance with one another as much as reasonably possible, we, the Court of The North Pacific (I would prefer to submit them as Court items if possible, if there is dissent then I will submit them as an individual of course) submit this revision and amendment to the Regional Assembly:

Article I; Section 3; Part 1:
Upon passage of this document as an amendment to the previous Constitution, all legislation previously passed is nullified, except for TNP Laws 1, 2, 6, 14, 22, and 23 (previous to the passage of this Constitution), which shall each be entered into the Legal Code as laws. The Legal Code shall consist of Laws passed by the Regional Assembly and carried over by agreement from previous governing documents.

The main issue with the current wording is that it is specific to only 6 TNP Laws, whereas the current Legal Code consists of 10 separately approved Laws. Technically, at present, any Law passed after the 23rd is not Constitutionally binding.

This will allow for the inclusion of the Laws passed after the Constitution was ratified without the need for further, or future, amendment.

I am going to submit this to the RA today.

Since it will most likely have some discussion and then the vote will take 10 days there should be time to make sure we have the rest right before moving forward with them.

Indycar moved for this to go to a vote in the RA.

I am uncertain as to whether they go strictly by Robert's and this needs a second before it moves forward or not. I have queried Mr. Sniffles about this via PM.

If it does could one of you post a second for the motion to move to a vote? It has not received a lot of discussion because, I believe, it is just considered a good idea by many and because the Security Council issue has taken up most of the RA activity.
