Confirmation Vote

Tresville

TNPer
The election is over. A vote to confirm the vote is just another delay when we have had many already. It also is not policy, tradition, law nor was it stipulated before the vote began.

My first action is to end that unwarranted and unprecedented vote.

I am going on about the business of governing. I welcome all citizens to join us in #thenorthpacific where we will be having discussions on government matters. Those convos will be public record.

Probably a better idea to just go ahead with that governing bit and let the formality vote tend to itself as opposed to making your first act something not really at all legal or popular. But that's cool too.

What I've been saying since September 17th...

Well, as I said...a confirmation vote was not a prerequisite, nor law.

From my understanding....before we vote...we discuss...a confirmation vote was never discussed nor agreed upon.

It was discussed, and agreed upon. here.
Thanks.

Also any executive action infringes the following:

Art 2.2
2. The Speaker decides the order in which bills will be voted upon and is responsible for opening and closing each vote.

Art 2.3
6. The Assembly is granted the power to legislate rules and institutions necessary and
proper to carry out the mandates of this Constitution.

And conflicts with your sworn duty to:

Art 3.1
3. The Delegate is responsible to ensure the good governance of the Executive Branch of TNP...

I, Tresville, do hereby solemnly swear that during my duly elected/appointed term as Delegate of The North Pacific, I will uphold the ideals of Democracy, Freedom, and Justice of The Region of The North Pacific. I will use the powers and rights granted to me through The North Pacific Constitution and Legal Code in a legal, responsible, and unbiased manner, not abusing my power, committing misfeasance, malfeasance, or nonfeasance in office, in any gross or excessive manner. I will act only in the best interests of The North Pacific, not influenced by personal gain or any outside force, and within the restraints of my legally granted power. As such, I hereby take up the office of Delegate of The North Pacific, with all the powers, rights, and responsibilities held therein.

The Speaker decides the order in which bills will be voted upon and is responsible for opening and closing each vote.

ahem...the vote was not a bill.

6. The Assembly is granted the power to legislate rules and institutions necessary and
proper to carry out the mandates of this Constitution.
Quote me where a confirmation is mandated??

Secondly, I have not closed the vote yet. So go ahead with it. We have far more serious matters at hand and I will not continue to waste time on last minute, unwarranted, unspecified or unprecedented confirmation votes.

A confirmation vote will begin tomorrow along with an amendment to TNP Law# 28 and an update to the legal code, stay tuned!

P.S. Next time be more specific please. Saying that the confirmation vote is to "approve of the decision to hold a revote?" would have made a big difference.

I apologize for jumping off like that, but you did not discuss this with anyone.

Just let the damn vote finish itself up without complaining.

Meanwhile, work on government stuff. Its not like the vote is stopping you from doing so.

Also, I figure this is the best place to post this:

I concede the election of CLO to Rhindon Blade or resign or whatever it takes for him to be next CLO. I made an oath a while back that I would not serve if reelected, and I intend to keep it.
