Hey everyone-
It's Staro, your ambassador. I'd just like to apologize for the lack of update. I've been on vacation for the past two weeks, and our founder (who wrote the updates) just left our region. I'll be taking over writing them, but I have a LOT to do as I've been gone for awhile.

I'll have one here as soon as possible.

Greetings everyone! It’s been a LONG time since the last update, and we apologize for the delay. This update has been reformed a little bit, as Staro is now writing them. Our founder French, recently left the region, and therefore will not be writing these anymore.

Founder Leaves!!
The most important recent news of TNR is the leaving of our Founder, The Revolution (a.k.a. French). For RL reasons, French feels he is unable to devote enough time to the region, and left. The founder nation was taken over by Yarsni and Staro. 6 members were given admin powers. Already we have seen HUGE changes in TNR, as these new admins put in their best efforts to make TNR better.

Court of the People (Judicial) Update
15.8.2008

Chancellor: None at the moment..

-Chancellory of Judicial Affairs renamed Court of the People
-No chancellor is currently elected
-Regional member Staro brought to court by member Cosmos1212. However, Cosmos1212 never showed up to court and nothing is happening. Staro maintains that this trial is just frivolous and not worth our time. (There has been NO evidence, but Cosmos still has a right to bring someone to court if he wants)

Novaya Zemlya has taken over The New Revolution.

" For months I watched my region succumb to inactivity, infighting, and decline. I seized the region not as a tyrant, but as someone who was willing to fill in a gaping leadership vacuum left by French Revolution and the Committee. The Revolution had to take the next step or the region would have died. The Revolution needed to encompass the majority of our region, and to do that would have required a radical change in our policies.

If you accept my leadership, TNR will have a new culture that places an emphasis on the average citizen of TNR onsite. The average citizen should have the right to propose legislation on the RMB as well as on the forum (and the post will then be taken to the IA), for instance. Or that recruitment should be directed inwardly as well as outside our region. We should train an army of professional revolutionaries.

Those who accept that the region needs radical change will be given appointments in the new government, which will become elected positions afterwards.

"Take power from the few and give it to the many" should be our motto, for ourselves and for the rest of the world. The old ways have not worked for us.

Finally, I'll let everyone back into the region on the condition that they don't spam the RMB."

In responce most of the founders protest and where banjected from the region. In responce they have formed The True Revolution and sent letters to each citizen stating...

"Dear Citizen of The New Revolution,

I am sorry to inform you that the former Revolutionary, Novaya Zemlya, took over French's account and started a Reign of Terror; thus giving himself dictatorial powers over TNR. The Founders, including myself, disagreed and protested in reaction towards this notion. As a result Novaya Zemlya banjected all of us from the region, and made an announcement that he was to remain dictator over TNR. We all gathered together and decided to create a new region to further what The New Revolution was supposed to do. Now brother, comrade, revolutionary, will you leave TNR and join The True Revolution; to continue on what TNR stood for?"

He has since proceeded to establish himself as Supreme Leader of TNR and has banjected nearly all active members of the region. (Including myself) And while we retain control over the regional forums, the region itself is completely under his control.

We of the true governmet have decided to proclaim TNR a dead region. We have founded a new region under the name, The True Revolution. TTR is the succesor region to TNR; any and all attempts to govern TNR, by anyone, are to be considered illegitimate.

Novaya Zemlya is hence forth is banned from The True Revolution, its forums, and all current or future colonial possessions. Do not let him fool you.

Do you have proof that the nation was actually hacked, or was NZ just given the password at some point?

If it was actually hacked somehow, you could get mod-intervention.
 
Even if NZ was given the password, folowing precedent set by the mods in Taijitu recently the original player who founded the region can claim that they have been locked out of their nation, and the mods will intervene.

That is pretty much what happened in Tiajitu recenly.
 
If the nation's email was recently changed, the Mods may or may not restore it to the old email if someone requests.

Hey everyone - it's Staro.

As some of you may know, my region, The New Revolution, has been taken over. Our founder's account was hacked by a member of our region, Novaya Zemlya. He has declared himself dictator over TNR - we refuse to accept this declaration (for obvious reasons). We will be moving to a new region, The True Revolution - but we've lost everything in our old one.

Please, if you can help in anyway, let me know. Even if it's just offering moral support - I need it. I have a LOT of work to do, changing everything to the new name, making sure Novaya is banned forever, and getting this under control.

Was the founder a shared nation?

Can you do the "Forgot the password link" and get the new password?

I just want to make sure the founder was indeed stolen, as I'm not familiar with your arrangement. If it was, the suggestions offered above will be more productive than panicking and moving to a new region if you can keep the one you got.

The password is sent to the e-mail that is designated for that nation, if there was an e-mail listed in the settings. This prevents a few issues:

1) If the original founder did not designate an e-mail then they cannot use this feature.
2) Even if the e-mail was not changed, how can they access the e-mail account that belongs to the founder?
3) If the e-mail was changed by the new guy controlling the founder then they can do nothing.

Even in such a case, precdent set by the mods in Taijitu is that they will restore the founder to the original player, if you can contact him.
