Greetings to the exiled North Pacificans,

We’ve undergone many changes in the last few weeks. We’ve left our old bureaucratic ways in favor of a more streamlined and nation/player-friendly way of life. Activity on our forum continues to grow daily and the House of Lords is steadily finding its place as the citizens' voice within our government. The nations of the region are empowered to participate fully in all functions of the region, and have a clear opportunity to build the region they wish to live in together.

And while our lauds are many, we feel the need to address you, the members of The North Pacific who have, to date, been unwilling to embrace the people’s long-standing call for change. Many of you are longstanding citizens, former delegates, and warriors who have proud histories of defending The North Pacific against impediments to progress. It is ironic, therefore, that today many of you find yourselves opposed to progress, opposed to moving our region toward an active future.

It is no secret that both internal and external forces continue to undermine our Delegate’s standing within the region via endorsement/unendorsement campaigns, propaganda, and refusal to join the government of The North Pacific. While you do so overtly and covertly, it is our opinion that, while your passion for our region is well respected, your actions against the elected Delegate and the duly appointed government constitute an effort to bring harm to the region and its players as a whole. Your efforts within the region would be much better suited to join the majority of the region's citizens in working for the continuing benefit and active future of the region.

Because of the esteem we hold for the small number of opposition members currently active on your forum, we would like to invite you to rejoin The North Pacific as we move toward progress for the future. No past actions shall be held against those who choose to join us, pledge allegiance to the Delegate, and promise to uphold the Codex, and all warrants issued against specific persons of your movement will be discarded. Our ultimate aim is not to remove you from the region, to try you as criminals, or to leave you in the dust on our way to progress - no. We ask that you join us - join The North Pacific - as we work to become once again a standard bearer of NationStates excellence.

Yours Truly,

Crimson King and Delegate of The North Pacific Westwind
Lord Ambassador General Big D Baby
Lord Advocate General Agamemnon Mustang
Lord Marshal General Adyndril
Lord Governor General Grimlock
Lord Commissioner General Montana Max

Okay, this is the kind of self serving rubbish that is forcing me to become the opposition party in the Crimson Pacific (if we were allowed to have parties).

You heap all sorts of praise upon yourselves and do not compromise an inch when it comes to those who have been kicked out. Sure, you'll let them back in as soon as they admit that they were wrong and that the Crimson Order are the new messiahs of Nationstates. The Crimson Order has deep internal issues that will only grow worse if they are not addressed now.

As for activity, its really a tossup as to which forum, northpacific.info or z13, is more active. In fact, some of the most active members on northpacific.info are Gatesville residents- granted, some of them have been here long enough to be called North Pacificans, and will probably stay for the foreseeable future.

I say this not as an attempt to discredit or take down the government, but if you truly want to extend the olive branch, you need to address the issues of your own inactivity, rampant cronyism and official corruption, and attacks on free speech within the region. It takes someone to say it, and I guess I'm the only one who isn't afraid to speak out, not out of any hatred for the government, but out of my loyalty for the North Pacific and a revolution that is being betrayed by those it brought to power.

Gee, punk let me think about that while I'm reading about this.

I'm all for discussions to mediate a solution but it would really be best if Lewis and Clark came here himself.

Greetings to the illegitimate and traitorous former North Pacificans,

You are wrong. Go to hell.

Yours Truly,

Oh, puhleeze!

Looks like L&C has no choice but to try to forgive us for his crimes as a rogue delegate - mainly because he lacks the influence to eject anyone.

Analysis: L&C realizes that he can never overcome the opposition and that he will eventually fall. He then tries to sucker in those very people he betrayed because he thinks they are stupid enough to come groveling on hands and knees.

The Truth: L&C finally understands that he cannot maintain his position as delegate precisely because of the continued opposition by those whom he betrayed. He knows that if we continue, he will fall with a resounding thump.

L&C can go straight to where the guy in the red suit with the pointy tail and pitchfork conducts business.

TNP will only be free when L&C is removed.

I was trying to be objective, I ws trying to have an open mind while reading it, but after risking an aneurysm all I can bring myself to say is: You're a filthy traitor. Lost a couple elections so you turn your back on the region to serve yourself? You disgust me.

This is me rejecting your terms as diplomatically as I can.

I have read the statement through a couple of times and it does not look like this "Crimson Order" are offering very much at all.

Looks to me like a propaganda exercise so that they can tell the world that they tried to negotiate.

I can't be bothered to read all that, can someone give me the gist?

I have to admit to some disappointment with the reaction.

Admittedly, I had high hopes that at worst, while rejected by many of you, this would lead to more conversation. If you do not wish to believe that this is a sincere offer, then you are as foolhearty as some think you are.

I'm glad to see that GBM is at least willing to discuss the issue in a reasonable manner.

Don't get me wrong, at the end of the day, you might remain as you are, but we are willing to discuss the matter at hand.

What's the moral high ground like up there? :P

Imagine the highest mountain. Now invert it.

I've got a better idea -

I think we should extend amnesty to all those misguided sheep who mistakenly supported L&C if they renounce The Criminal Order and come back and swear allegiance to the real government here.

How about we off them that olive branch?

I mean, it's inevitable that L&C will fall, we all know it, and where else will all those displaced, misguided followers of L&C go?

L&C is only making such a pathetic offer because he knows he's toast in the end. He's just trying to con people into joining the ranks of his useful idiots.

L&C would like you to bring your sexiness to his forum. :P

@punk: It doesn't appear anyone here is enthusiastic about taking the CO up on the offer. Those with a preference for that style of government have already gone. Everyone else would rather see democracy restored.

I am all for peace, but what kind of peace is worth sacrificing my rights, my freedoms, my ability to choose leaders and determine how this region is best governed? You have asked us to swear allegiance to a mere man who has set himself up as king, and is propped up by the minions of another lowly mortal who has consecrated himself as a god. That is never going to happen.

Moral high ground? Come on guys...

Thank you, GBM, for your reply. It is noted.

Let's carry on then...

Who has a warrant issued against them then? Can you apply by post?
Several warrants were issued by Former Lord Advocate General New Kervoskia in the Justice area of z13. They should still be there unless and admin moved/deleted the thread.

EDIT: Found it- http://z13.invisionfree.com/TNP/index.php?showtopic=4185
Yeah, I can hardly stop laughing at that .

At any rate, back on topic here...

I always find it quite amusing how every other rogue dictator that comes down the pike tries to 'extend an olive branch' to his opponents...and then the rogue dictator falls shortly thereafter.

I don't think anyone with the least bit of integrity, honor or dignity is going to take up an offer by a self-proclaimed king to bow down like a common turd before a rogue dictator.

IOW, L&C should know exactly how people around here feel about toadying up before a tyrrant. But, alas, L&C has finally realized that without the cooperation (cooperation and collaboration he will never get) of the very people he tried to purge from the region that he cannot survive.

Yupper, L&C hopped on an airliner and then purged the cockpit crew at 30,000 feet and now he realizes that he can't fly the plane. I suppose he will start chucking out the stewardesses next and then start flinging passengers out until he is the only one left.

You're basically offering us the ability to be subjects to a king.

Not cool.

I, for one, will not go over unless offered a real position of power in the new government.

Unfortunately, the only real position of power is Delegate, so basically, if you give me the Delegacy and infinite immunity from prosecution forever I'd happily join your government.

I await your counteroffer.

My response is "D.O.A."

There's nothing there that serves as a basis for any actual, meaningful discussion; that re-enforces the "D.O.A."

The short version:

As stated by Jake Green in episode 22 of season one of Jericho: "Nuts!"

D.O.A.?

It didn't even make it to the still-born stage.

I say we offer the Crimson Order drones amnesty if they hop off their polka-dotted ponies galloping down the yellow brick road and come back to the real deal here.
