Dear Friends,

I was greatly pleased to learn that we would be holding elections again, as TNP has been on an uncertain road. I would like the opportunity to serve this region once again as its Delegate.

There has been vocal support for change in government. I will support what the people want, but I believe the way to go about it is not to simply throw away the Constitution and then try to figure out something else. That route will only yield chaos. The proper thing to do is to keep what we have until a suitable replacement is ratified. Stability can co-exist with change.

If meaningful change is to occur, we must, as a community, make important decisions about what we want our government to look like. We have already begun the process to discuss different structures that will enable the vision of a vibrant TNP to flourish. I will work to facilitate open discussions dealing with the fundamental questions of our governance.

As your Delegate, I will continue to keep regional security a priority. Maintaining a high endorsement count and surveying the environment for potential threats is of the highest importance. You can trust me to be diligent with respect to our safety.

As one of the first contacts for new nations, I will encourage newcomers to take part in the forum and its many activities.

I will also be sure to hold discussions on UN resolutions and vote faithfully, in accordance with the wishes of TNP nations.

Finally, as recent events have once again shown, who you elect comes down to a matter of trust. Can you trust me to uphold the Constitution? Can you trust me to uphold a different Constitution? Can you trust me to do my job responsibly and to the best of my ability? Can you trust me not to go rogue?

You know you can.

I will be glad to answer any questions you may have.

Yours,
-GBM

Elect Great Bights Mum for Delegate

this quote from Dalimbar:

Unfortunately, we are still dealing with internal problems (such as violent militants who wish to threaten our new community) that prohibit a Delegate change just yet. Perhaps in the future when our region has stabilized, we will see a greater demand for a legitimate and safe Delegate change over.

Suggests that he will not hand over the delegacy. Are you up for a fight?

Thank you for your question, Flem. While I hate to see the situation deteriorate to the point it has, I still believe diplomatic recourse is available to us. Should those avenues utterly fail us, I am every bit as much up to a fight as I was against UPS Rail, Great Bight and the various incarnations of Pixiedance.

Right now, the most important thing is for our Democratic processes to continue. Elections will legitimize our position, and allow us to reach out to our allies. I am pleased we have strong candidates running, particularly for the PM slot. We will need solid leadership in these uncertain times.

I would like to encourage everyone to do two things for this region: First, get out and vote! No matter which candidate you support, it is important to have a strong showing at the polls. The numbers DO matter. The greater participation we have, the more weight the decision will carry.

Second, we need to keep the forum address on the RBM at all times. This community needs that vital link to flourish.

When Dali first went rogue, I had a question for him. I asked, "Do you want to pick the next Delegate?" Well, it shouldn't be his decision. It should be ours.
