OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE FROM THE HOLY ORDO HERETICUS OF THE PACIFIC

-BLACK CARDINAL LORD AGAMEMNON MUSTANG-

By the authority vested in me by the Emperor and Senate of the New Pacific Order, I hereby issue this warrant to The North Pacific for the extradition of the following individuals:

Hersfold
flemingovia
Grosseschnauzer
Tresville

to THE Pacific to stand trial as accessories to crimes committed within its borders.

The charges are brought due to the individuals' culpability in the crimes that the NPIA agent Mesian was charged with.

In the interests of inter-regional friendship and cooperation, THE Pacific requests that these individuals be extradited and ordered to appear before the Inquisitional Tribunal.

Also, THE Pacific hereby issues this warrant for one, Upper Kirby, for insulting the honor and dignity of the Emperor of the New Pacific Order, Emperor Bovinus.

SIGNED,
-Agamemnon Mustang
Black Cardinal Lord of the Ordo Hereticus
Master of the Black Templars
Grand Inquisitor of the Inquisitional Tribunal

Oh, and P.S., we're adding "Sexual Harassment of a Sexy Young Senator" to Upper Kirby's charges.

Ah yes. TNP really wants to mend relations doesn't it?

I would like to request that only those who have the standing and authority to treat with me post here.

Hersfold is a direct accessory to crimes committed within our borders and is culpable for them. The others are suspected to be culpable as well.

As TNP is thoroughly unwilling to dispense justice for these crimes, it falls to the New Pacific Order to do so.

Your unwillingness to seek justice speaks volumes.

I would also like to add that all of this goes away once the government owns up to its actions and the actions of its agents.

This is, of course, only my fat mouth speaking, but the TNP government has never recognized an extradition request. We have no agreements with other regions regarding extradition of arraigned suspects, and we do not plan on enforcing foreign laws on TNP soil. If they wish to face your charges in the NPO, that is their prerogative and theirs alone.

In short, no.

It's sad to see how TNP is so willing to throw away any hope of inter-regional cooperation and friendship. Your continual refusal to allow justice to be done speaks volumes to just how willing you are.

Simply enough, all we want is something to be DONE. We KNOW this was NPIA sanctioned. TNP must do something. Since TNP seems too inept to, it falls upon the victims to deliver justice.

This has nothing to do with TP/TNP relations. You are requesting the government of TNP do something that it is not legally vested to do. If such an (illegal) order from the government went out, it would be overturned and not followed in the first place. It's not going to happen.

I may wish for a million dollars and Santa Claus to be real, but wishing don't make it true.

I'm tired and going to bed. I am extremely disappointed that this did not escalate to the point that someone uses the word "poophead"

Ah well... Perhaps tomorrow :P

If you are going to refuse to extradite, can I at least get my chocolate?

Then prosecute them here. Or you could do what we really want and, ADMIN forbid, actually ADMIT to what you did, take responsibility for your actions and give us an apology. I know it's hard, but it is doable, trust me.

If you are going to refuse to extradite, can I at least get my chocolate?
A fence-mending envoy was already sent to Moocowgrad, with chocolates. Chocolates courtesy of the embassy staff. The kind of gift basket one might give someone in order to start some sort of, I don't know, fence-mending dialog with (silly me). It was coldly ignored.

Then prosecute them here.

No.

How dare you. You, who feign sovereignty, you gangsters, you false Westphalians, you rogues. How dare you order our court system, how dare you order our government what to do. How dare you troll our peaceful community into disruption. You don't want peace or friendship; you want submission and fury. If you will hold that attitude then begone.

To the rest of the esteemed Pacific delegation: The barbecue offer still stands.

I will not be answering any poophead* extradition demand from the NPO. I am not subject to their laws, and there is no extradition treaty between the NPO and TNP that requires me to answer such a summons.

This has nothing to do with guilt or innocence, it is because I do not want to play your games of silly buggers.

In short, take your ordo and shove it up your hereticus as far as it will go.

*edited in especially for Darkesia. See how cuddly I can be?

Actually this all has to do with TNP's refusal to even admit to the wrong that they were caught in. Where's the admission, where's the apology?

It's all lost because TNP is too inept to realize it's done something it shouldn't have. Either that, or you're too arrogant to admit that you got caught.

In all honesty, I knew for a fact that TNP would refuse this. I knew for a fact that you would continue to dodge the issue. The warrant is merely a symbolic gesture. Apparently we're the only ones interested in justice. We don't expect you to prosecute Hersfold and whoever else was culpable. All we expect is an admission and an apology.

I used to believe that TNP was a beacon of reason and justice. Now I see the truth. You're a beacon of corruption and arrogance. I will truly be impressed if you finally get around to doing what is right.

The warrant will continue to stand by order of the Holy Ordo Hereticus. I know you TNPers have no concept of justice, so I don't expect any of the individuals to actually show up, but the Inquisitors will be ready should you decide to prove me wrong.

Demanding one thing when you actually want another not only is counterproductive but is somewhat rude. Is it supposed to be a sneaky political move? An apology is in the works. We here have been stating that for a long time now. You know as well as I that if we (TNP) recant on that, we'd look pretty bad. You already have had many assurances of an apology.

Just wait and stop making silly, unrealistic demands of our government in the meantime.

Actually, MO, the admission and apology was demanded MANY times in the embassy and by the Emperor in other areas. Since we've gotten neither, this was the next step.

What is counter-productive is the stalling and dodging that is coming from your government. Pot meet kettle.

By the way, as root admin and host of the TNP forum, i am getting tired of NPO people thinking they can abuse our hospitality by insulting us here on z13. If another Pacifican from the emperor downwards does it again, I wil lP ban them permanently, and take the consequences in the TNP courts. I do not have a forgiving nature, and when I say "permanent" that is what it means. Please pass the word, and take note yourself. You do not enter my home and crap on the carpet.

This is not a request, it is a requirement if you wish to continue to enjoy hospitality here.

Ah, sorry Lord Valentine. Apparently were not allowed to play in your sandbox anymore. Flem says he's locked the playground gate.

Now that the rules are clearly understood, I'm sure everyone will be far more respectful. :eyeroll:

Oh, playing is fine; banter is fine. Insulting and disrespectful rhetoric is not.

I am sure most people know teh difference. If people do not, they probably should not be playing Nationstates anyway.

Well, you will ask for daft things... :eyeroll:

How very respectful of you...

I'm done. You can cheer now. :winner:
There is absolutely no reason for me to waste my time on this any longer.

And just to tidy things up, and make it formal -

In lieu of any treaty of extradition with The Pacific, the Ministry of Justice of The North Pacific will neither honor nor recognize any warrants issued by the government or officers thereof. Additionally, prosecution of any accused person within The North Pacific requires a properly filed charge by a member of The North Pacific, or an indictment delivered directly by the Attorney General or other authorized member of the Ministry of Justice. As no such filing has been delivered to this office, or issued from this office, the Ministry of Justice has no grounds or intent to prosecute the parties named above at this time.

(from a game interest, extraditing wouldnt actually be a bad idea. The people wouldnt, if found guilty, be guilty here and all of them have claimed they dont want to go to the pacific socially anyway. And it would make NS just that little bit more interesting to imagine we're playing a game about politics and governance for a minute)

What?

No, what?

Allow me to clarify - when one plays a "game about politics and governance", part of the politicking is not capitulating to the demands of a foreign entity. How, in any humanly-determinable way, does refusing to hand over our governmental officers for their imagined role in some slight invalidate the point of the game?

I'm not saying it invalidates the point of the game. I'm saying it would add some of the drama that made NS what it is and that we've been lacking.

It would be interesting. Rather than going around in circles arguing and then writing some sort of long ammendement that gets scaremongered to death

Handing Blue Wolf the password to my forum account would be interesting.

Telling Moo-Cows to go stick his head in a bucket would be interesting.

Running around the RMB's shouting "All admins are bastards!" would be interesting.

None of these things are going to happen, however, because the potential damage caused by doing something "interesting" does not justify the diversion they would grant.

I, for one, would much rather be known as "The Region that took a while to write an apology" than "The region that left its leadership to twist in the wind after one threatening note. THAT, Mr. Land, is what I find interesting.

EDIT - Yeah, that sentence doesn't work.

What potential damage? The people on trial in the pacific would still be here. It would have no bearing here. It would just give us something new to shout about.

because for gods sake it has to be obvious to more people than just me that NS cannot continue as it is, regions liviong in their own insular worlds of tighter laws and regulations suffocating the game. We might have all been pissed off during Great Bight, or during Pixiedance/Moldavi, but it was at least fun

Why was it fun? Because we we all working together* toward a common goal. The community is what makes this game fun, not any particular conflict. Part of that sense of community is a sense of solidarity, and knowing that one's comrades will have their backs when things go south. Knowing that, regardless of the demands of the Big Bad Wolf, the Three Little Pigs will hang together, rather than hang separately.

Besides, it's fun to win. The question is what constitutes winning for each of us.

* Well, not all of us, but most.

Look around. Do you see unity? because if its not someone else hanging us we're hanging each other.

Solidarity died here long ago

(Nice accusations there btw. Subtle, yet full of flavour)

@ FL - I don't believe accusation was the word you wanted.

@ WV - Once again, NO ONE is getting handed over. Period. We do not throw others under the bus. Capitulation is always the easy route, and it is not one we will be taking.

I didn't mean to imply that anyone was (or should be). I was mainly replying to FL's opinion that handing them over to Moo would cause more drama than not doing so. I think the reverse, and I have no objection to some good drama.
