Korinna for Minister of Defense

Kor

TNPer
For anyone who doesn't know me I am Korinna. I have been in TNP since I started NS about six months ago. I am currently a Lt. in the NPA. When I started activity in the NPA was very low, but when Mesian became MoD that changed. If elected I plan to continue to keep Mesians' system in place. I would also like to expand on our intelligence program. Even though we have had an influx of new troops, I believe we need more. That is why I think we need to increase recruitment even more. Thank you for listening to me and I hope to have your vote.

I believe the NPA should be multi-versatile in the way it liberates a region. I think the members should be trained for any situation, be it a defensive type or offensive type of mission.

I will ask you the same question I asked of Ator People and GI:

When missions are not forthcoming, do you generally believe in R&R for the NPA or training (using NPA regions)?

I believe it really depends on the activity of the time frame. If there was alot of missions at that time I would probably schedule R&R, but if the hadn't been a mission in awhile I'd set up a training course to keep the troops prepared for combat.

Your policies seem a little unfinished to me I'm afraid. Would it be rude of me to ask for some clarification?

How exactly do you intend to expand our special intelligence divisions?
Will you be liaising with the MoIIA to increase regional recruitment, and how do you envisage that would work?

How do you rate the overall effectiveness of our current armed forces and can you quickly suggest any improvements you might make in your term?

Thanks in advance.

As I asked the other two candidates, what is your position on the military be required to be authorized by the Security Council for operations of any kind?

I don't think it's rude at all to ask questions Vitriona. It is within you rights to probe the people who are running for an elected office. Now to answer your questions.

1.How exactly do you intend to expand our special intelligence divisions?

This is one of the parts I haven't decided on how to solve. I was thinking that if elected I might try to start a Defender watchdog program. I was thinking this program would be a multi-regional information transfer, where defenders could swap information about known raiders. This program would also have soldiers watch for raider movements and report them. Like I said thoughI haven't figured how to make it work 100% yet.

2.Will you be liaising with the MoIIA to increase regional recruitment, and how do you envisage that would work?

I actually hadn't thought to ask the MoIIA to help in NPA recruitment. If I did work with the MoIIA it probably be just to ask if I could post recruitment ads in the Welcome Center.

3.How do you rate the overall effectiveness of our current armed forces and can you quickly suggest any improvements you might make in your term?

I believe that the effectiveness of the current NPA is good. The soldiers are dedicated and they respond very quickly. I just believe we need more troops so that we can take on larger raider groups without having to bring in outside help.

Dali I have mixed feelings on having the SC having to authorize every operation. On one side it does prevent the NPA from running around doing unnecessary missions, but in important situations there will be waiting for the vote to go through.

I thank you both for your questions and hope to have your votes.

Just a couple of follow-up questions.

So, you'd want the NPIA and NPA to work with other agencies to build a more complete overview of the invader world? Definitely an interesting idea. Does the NPIA not already do these kinds of things though?

Would you consider a large defender army to be a good selling point for our region though? Surely, by working with the MinIIA you could improve NPA recruitment by aiding in overall TNP recruitment, no?

Thank you.

Yes I do want the NPA and NPIA to work together to gain a better over view of the Invader world. The NPIA may do this already, but I am not sure, but I would like the NPA to be apart of the process so that we can get a better assessment of the enemy. I believe that with a better knowledge of the enemy we can better fight them when the time comes.

I believe that a large defender army could very good selling point for the region. I also believe that a larger army means more opportunity for players to be active. Low activity is what drives people away from regions. You are right, working with the MoIIA will help and I thank you for your suggestion. I think I will try to work with the MoIIA if elected.

I hope this answers your questions. If you have anymore feel free to ask.

I have a question.

If a group of raiders have taken a target region and you suddenly have become authorized to act against them, how would you handle the situation and why?

*Coughs* I hope you haven't forgotten 'bout little old me... *Goes to his corner and waits his turn*

I would probably have troops move in very close to the regional update and support the native lead, if they weren't banned and ejected from the region. I would do this because I would want to keep regional power in native hands. If they were ejected from the region support would go to the NPA unit leader try and get the delegacy and then return control to the natives of the region.

I believe I did.

*Looks over your posts a few times, and then finally finds it*

What would you do to fix this conundrum, if elected Minister?

Also, this is next series of questions are going around to all candidates, so make it good :P

What is your favorite colour, how does that colour make you feel, and what does this colour represent to you, with RL examples please?

If elected I would try to ask the SC if they could be more rapid in their voting process. I think the main issue with the SC is an activity issue. I hope in the next term the members of the SC will be able to stay active and not have to leave mid-term.

I would have to say my favorite color is red. Red has always made me kinda happy and exhilarated. Red has always represented excitement to me, probably because whenever I think of red I think of my first motorcycle. It was a red and white Honda CBR 600 F4I. A very fast motorcycle that I loved.

I thank you for your questions and hope you will vote for me.

My vote will be based on your answers to my questions.

1. Differentiate griefing from crashing.
2. What time does the NS update take place and why is it important knowledge to both defenders and invaders?
3. Do you agree to mix politics with the military? Justify your answer?
4. Compare and Contrast: Defense Mission and Liberation.

You've kinda messed up a few liberations before, that said, how can we expect that it doesn't happen again, even in a different way? Can you assure us that your experience is enough to run the military of a region such as TNP?

Thank you for your time.

1. Differentiate griefing from crashing

Griefing is when you pick on other people for something they have said or done and getting other people to do the same. Crashing is where a region moves into another region spams that regions RMB and sending Tg's to everyone in the region and messing with that regions daily going-ons.

2. What time does the NS update take place and why is it important knowledge to both defenders and invaders?

The NS region update starts at 6:00 am GMT time approx although it is different for each region. It is important knowledge because that's when invaders move in to take a region and defenders need to be there to make sure a region doesn't get taken over by the invaders. The invaders start at update because it's when NS updates the regional delegate spot in each region. We move in to try and keep the delegate spot from the invaders so that we can plan how we can best protect the region from further invasions, and decide who we will turn the region over to.

3. Do you agree to mix politics with the military? Justify your answer?

I personally don't mix politics with the military. I think it should be about the defense or liberation of the region.

4. Compare and Contrast: Defense Mission and Liberation.

A Defense mission is when the region is still held by the natives and we are needed to help fend of invaders. A liberation is when the region has been taken and we are needed to take the region back and return control to the natives.

You've kinda messed up a few liberations before, that said, how can we expect that it doesn't happen again, even in a different way?

First let me state to anyone who doesn't know, ie: non-NPA members. I did mess up a few liberations. This was due to a misunderstanding with NS Mods. They believed I had multiple UN nations. I in fact did not have multiple UNs. What I didn't know was that one of my roommates had seen me playing and wanted to join. He did unknown to me and I found out and explained it. I wasn't allowed to use that nation anymore and created a new one. The only assurance I can give you is my word that it won't happen again. If this is not good enough then so be it.

Can you assure us that your experience is enough to run the military of a region such as TNP?

The only thing I can say to this is that I have some pretty good ideas at least in my opinion. I would do my best, and yes I know that I don't have much experience, but I believe that I am dedicated and I would do my very best.

Thank you.

Off Topic:

However, I commend the candidate for having a quote from The Picture of Dorian Gray in his signature.

;)

Thank you very much. Oscar Wilde has always been one of my favorite authors and I especially like that particular quote.

Thanks for your answers, but for the record, I was pertaining to the one wherein you moved on too early. Also, griefing is indeed any act that upsets the natives, but to be precise, NS uses it as a term for ejecting too many nations at one time. This used to be illegal, but the nations' new Regional Influence made it legal. Crashing, on the other hand, is moving a bunc of nations at the same time, to endorse the invader pointman.
