Move to Zetaboards

I propose the following for consideration by the RA. Traditionally, something as major as a forum move would need the support of the regional assembly

That the forum administrators are authorised to move the forum from Invisionfree to Zetaboards, at such time as they are happy with the stability and performance of the zetaboards platform.

Of course the one calling me an idiot is going to go on about ad hominem attacks. But just stating that it's NOT about tra-dish-un but LEGALITY.
 
Since my return I've been sitting on this and I cannot hold it in any longer:

I have never witnessed such immaturity and disrespect such as the remarks made by members of this new Regional Assembly. I never witnessed this much disrespect when this region was under a dictatorship. As Regional Assembly members, it is our responsibility to work together for the benefit of this region, rather than waste time with petty disputes and personal attacks. This behavior has halted the success and progression of this region. We could accomplish so much more than we are currently.

Mr. Speaker, you are the voice of this Regional Assembly and you set an example for the behavior for all members of this Assembly. Your performance in this manner has been unsatisfactory, to say the least. Snide and sarcastic remarks have no place in this government--I am speaking about more incidents then this particular one.

There is a way to go about disagreeing with one another; this current behavior of certain members is not one of the ways to go about doing so.

Before anyone responds to this, let me preface this: I will not respond to or tolerate any personal attacks.

Actually, I'm not sure that we'd be "moving" in the constitutional sense. The Invisionfree Support is currently being transitioned over to www.zetaboards.com, so I wasn't able to look at the original announcement to see if the entire content of this forum would be converted (in which case it probably wouldn't be a "move,") or whether it would b another start-over, in which case it would be a forum move.

If the RA wishes to give Flem and myself authority to make that decision independent of the circumstances, I certainly have no objection; but I think we needed to clarify exactly what the mechanics of the transition would be.
 
As near as I can tell the whole of this board would be moved over, so I guess you are right, Gross. The best analogy I can think of is putting a new engine in a car. The mechanics would be different, the content the same.

Bloody hard work, for the admins for a while, but worth doing for the improvements in performance.

Flem, I'm typing this past my bedtime, but it can be worded in a way that authorizes the two of as as administrators to have discretion to transition the forum to the Zataboards platform at our discretion once the Zetaboards platform completes its beta testing.
 
How about simply....
The RA hereby authorises the forum administrators to move the hosting of the regional forum from z13 to an appropriate zetaboards account, at such a time as the move can be executed safely, securely and without loss of posts.

The only change I waould suggest is the use of the word "transition" in place of the word "move" in both places; as well as use the word "content" in place of the word "posts."
 
because Haor, it's not clear we're "moving" o a new forum, but rather it's transferring to a new forum software platform used by our host server. The word "move" has a constitutional implication that doesn't appear to apply here.
 
Personally, I do not see the need for the change, but Gross understands the constitution better than God, so we may as well make the change.
