Matt for Delegate

As Vice Delegate I believe that the transition to Delegate is only natural, especially if Great Bights Mum is elected as my Vice Delegate. I believe that being the Feeder Delegate is the pinnacle of NationStates and I would love to take on the challenge.

Well for the past three months I served Great Bights Mum as her Vice Delegate, I believe I served the role diligently and properly and I really enjoyed my term. I stayed to her target of about 50-100 endorsements behind her. Last election I decided that it was not the time to run but after a lot of thought and consideration I have decided that I would love to be Delegate and decided to run.

As Vice Delegate I kept my endorsement level consistently high and was never troubled by rogue endotarters, I regularly answered queries from members of The North Pacific, I posted adverts for the forums on the regional message board and telegrammed every UN nation I found welcoming them to the region and inviting them to the forums.

I also hold 'Truckler' influence level, which means that I could eject any endotarters and nearly all other UN nations without losing a significant amount of influence. My influence is also increasing; I should become a Duckspeaker in a very short time. This decreases a risk of a rogue taking the Delegacy as has happened in the past.

Due to my term as Vice Delegate I have a high endorsement count of around 350 endorsements, this means that if I were to be elected it would take a very short time for me to take the Delegate's seat. This would minimise the time delay and reduce any possible security risks.

If I were to be elected I would continue all of my successful work from last term but increase my efforts. I would be interested in spearheading some projects as Delegate; I would be very interested in starting a team to recruit members to our forums on the RMB. Secondly I would actively encourage UN members to come and post their opinions on the United Nations resolution on the forums, as well as increasing the low voter turnout for these, it might also attract them to the forums so they would stay and increase forum activity.

I am also a very trustworthy and honourable man, I would never consider for instance going rogue or ejecting anyone without reason and I would abide by the Constitution as strictly as possible and always listen to the advice of the Prime Minister, Cabinet and Security Council.

If a situation occurred with an endotarter with a dangerously high endorsement given and received level, I would firstly give them a warning and an invite to the forum once I recognised that they were tarting in high numbers. Then once their endorsement level rose I would try and persuade them to halt, this has been used successfully by GBM on Conch Divers so I believe that it could work again. However if the nation continued to tart and the Security Council voted for their ejection, I would have one last attempt before ejecting and banning them for a short time.

I also login at least once a day and my schedule rarely changes so that I never have periods where I am simply too busy to get online and check NationStates. I go on NationStates a couple of times a day and I am active in all areas of the forum from the spam, welcoming centre and even proposing some new legislation for the Constitution.

I also have a 7 billion + population and more importantly I top the region for all things economy related. Not only would I be the first Delegate to do this (I believe) it would be impressive and cool. ;)

I have also served in the Ambassador department and would be a good, respected and well-known representative of this great region wherever I went.

Lastly my experience of the game is extensive and hard to beat.

The Welsh Highlands-Founded/Delegated, it had around 50 nations before I lost interest and left.

Evility-140 nations, Delegated, I delegated this region in late 2003 and at the time it was one of the most powerful regions in the game. During a fall-out with the co-Delegate he locked me out and I left.

Mercia the Next Generation-Delegate from about 75 nations, Exiled from Evility I moved here and swiftly was made Delegate by Playa Chk. I left to go back to Evility.

Empire of Power-Founded/Delegated, one of the most powerful invader regions of its time it had about 70 nations in its prime before I got bored and left.

Evilium-Founded, had about 30 nations before I let it die.

Wales-Delegate of around 50 nations, I was Delegate for a while before I needed my UN elsewhere and quit.

Rejected Realms-A Defender region of about 50 nations before I quit due to lack of co-operation with the Founder.

That Place Over There- Delegated, belongs to the Moderator The Most Glorious Hack, I delegated there for a while.

Egypt-Founded/Delegated, Still co-Founder there but I quit the Delegate's seat a while ago.

The Lexicon-I was a Senator there before I quit.

The East Pacific-Former Magister and Ambassador

At the moment I hold the following positions in other regions.

The East Pacific - UN Affairs Minister
Lazarus - Foreign Affairs Minister
Taijitu - Senator
The Pacific - Foreign Legionaire

These positions don't take up too much of my time so I will have plenty of time for endotarting and telegramming. I also doubt that any of these regions will come into conflict with The North Pacific, however if this does occur, I would choose The North.

I have also had an issue published, issue number 122, ‘Pensioners in Protest’ and I have a Sticky on the NationStates forums. This shows my dedication and love of the game.

I welcome any questions.

Regards,

Matt :D

I'd like to say that I have only heard good things about you Matt and have never had a bad experience in dealing with you (we have spoken in the past in other regions..though u may not remember or my identity was conceiled).

Please do not let my Invader Murdering past (and present) influence the intentions of my questions. Your actually one of the few Ex invaders that I respect.

I have always believed that our Delegate, Vice Delegate and Prime Minister should be citizens who have held multiple positions in this government and have proven themselves to be trustworthy. Your achievements outside of TNP are impressive and I am glad to have such an achieved player in our government. But other than your statement "very trustworthy and honourable man," what during your tenure here shows that you should be trusted with the Delegacy?

Do you have any plans to improve activity in the forum via the RMB? Any plans to make our RMB lively (please no public executions of invaders...we don't have a staff to clean up the blood)?

What is your longest bout of inactivity and why?

As far as Endo Count....do you have a specific Goal? Unless I am Mistaken, Thel or Magicality hold the record.

"I would be very interested in starting a team to recruit members to our forums on the RMB" I created the first team to do this actually (first team with a name, flag etc) and have tried to bring this back into our Gov many, many, many times. It always failed or didn't last for more than a few months...How do you think u can achieve this endeavor and keep it going?

These positions don't take up too much of my time so I will have plenty of time for endotarting and telegramming. I also doubt that any of these regions will come into conflict with The North Pacific, however if this does occur, I will likely choose The North.
You should reword the "Likely"... :duh:

If I gave you Playa's number would you give me the delegacy? If not..how about Ananke's?

TNP Trivia:
Who started the Mold Removal Team and who is it in reference to?

Who is the Queen of RP in TNP (past or present...same girl...hint)?

Off the top of your head...name 4 nations that are cornerstones in the region (meaning their nation is always in TNP and have been around for over 3 years...hint...only 1 or 2 forum members are on that list).

How far back does our constitution go?

Who is our most long winded poster of all time in TNP (thats too easy)?

P.S. "Exiled from Evility I moved here and swiftly was made Delegate by Playa Chk" I was there...your welcome! lol

"Empire of Power" when was this a powerful invader group? :eyebrow:

"I top the region for all things economy related. Not only would I be the first Delegate to do this (I believe) it would be impressive and cool. " You might just be...I'll check the stats...but I believe Miranda might have held that title.

In The North Pacific only?

Well, I have always maintained by levels of politeness and respect throughout my time here as I do in every region, this may lead you to believe I have a good character. I have also tried to implement some changes to our constitution that although unsuccessful, I still tried the democratic way. I obeyed all the orders that were given to me by Great Bights Mum, I'm sure she would be willing to back me up. (I hope!) Perhaps most important there was a time around New Year where GBM was exceptionally busy with real life and her endorsement count was comparetively low whilst I had been tarting high and we were about 15-20 endorsements apart. Now I could looking back on it raised a force from The Lexicon, various invaders and whoever and scraped the Delegacy and gone rogue. However, obviously I didn't and would never considered it and let my numbers slide and am now around 250, well away from GBM's.

What is your longest bout of inactivity and why?

Interesting question, I spent about 3-5 months in the reign of Magicality I believe where I just observed and answered issues. The reasons were that Evility, my original region had kicked me out for 'traitorous' actions, basically being Delegate by Playa's request of MTNG and argueing with the admin but that's a whole other story. Anyway, I realised that I needed a break, I felt it was taking up a lot of my time so I took a few months off. Apart from that I played solidly from 3 years.

Do you have any plans to improve activity in the forum via the RMB?  Any plans to make our RMB lively (please no public executions of invaders...we don't have a staff to clean up the blood)?

Well there's always some Lexiconians... ;)

I put these two questions together, hope you don't mind.

I would like to try and do something similar that they do in The West Pacific, nothing too complicated, we just get a recruiting post of the highest quality, I believe Nam has already made one. Then we just post that on a daily basis or more frequently depending on the rules, I would think that you could post your own recruiting message as much as you like.

Secondly I/we would PM all our active forum members and encourage them to post a message on the RMB, just a short 'hello how's everyone going?" or "having a lot of fun at the forums!" or "yeah I'm great thanks! yourself?" or whatever. Just something friendly, informal. Hopefully this and the recruiting messages will attract new members to the forum if they start to join in on the RMB postings and it will have the added bonus of clearing spam.

How to I intend to keep it going? Probably through hard work and constant poking! ;) But hopefully people will realise that if they login to their nation, it takes a minute to post a quick message. I'm sure it will work for the first month or so then activity will slide but will a quick nudge every so often I'm confident that we could keep it going.

As far as Endo Count....do you have a specific Goal?  Unless I am Mistaken, Thel or Magicality hold the record.

Well Shas is currently on 469 endorsements so getting above him and being the most endorsed person in the game would be good for The North Pacific. We have about 900 UN nations, so I see no reason why I shouldn't be able to acheive that if we get more people involved.

You should reword the "Likely"...  :duh:

:o

Sure I will. ;)

If I gave you Playa's number would you give me the delegacy?  If not..how about Ananke's?

Elizabeth's? Tempting... :w00t:

As for Ananke, I've never really spoken to her as far as I know.

Trivia Round

Who started the Mold Removal Team and who is it in reference to?

Afraid I don't know the answer to that one.

Who is the Queen of RP in TNP (past or present...same girl...hint)?

Poe?

Off the top of your head...name 4 nations that are cornerstones in the region (meaning their nation is always in TNP and have been around for over 3 years...hint...only 1 or 2 forum members are on that list).

I'm guessing that you mean they are still active but that some just don't participate in the forums. If I'm right, here's my list, in my opinion.

Flemingovia, Tresville, Ananke and Thel D'Ran.

Who is our most long winded poster of all time in TNP (thats too easy)?

It's actually a hard question for me! I don't think I could think of one particular person now but if you told me who you're thinking of I'm sure I'll kick myself.

How far back does our constitution go?

A hard question for a person who wasn't around at the time but I'm sure that I remember reading that it was late 2004. If I'm wrong I apologise, I had a look to see if there was any information about it on this and the old forum but I found nothing containing a date that could confirm my thoughts.

P.S. "Exiled from Evility I moved here and swiftly was made Delegate by Playa Chk" I was there...your welcome! lol

Could you reveal who you were? I'm intriqued.

"Empire of Power" when was this a powerful invader group? :eyebrow:

Well they were at their time, you have to remember that a couple of years ago, anything above 300 or so was pretty much unheard of, I inherited it from the previous Founder so the infastructure was there and I carried out a few successful missions, one was Oxford and ZZ9 Plural Alpha was another if I remember rightly, they were some good battles in those regions as well...

"I top the region for all things economy related. Not only would I be the first Delegate to do this (I believe) it would be impressive and cool. "  You might just be...I'll check the stats...but I believe Miranda might have held that title.

*sighs*

I hope I answered your questions well, of course I welcome anymore. :D

EDIT: My tags finally worked!

<_< AHEM! <_<

Actually, I went to the Meritocracy for a while when they were still respectable. So I guess I don't qualify.

I spent about 3-5 months in the reign of Magicality I believe

FOR

EDIT:

I should become a Duckspeaker in a very short time.

Your mother must be proud.

Emperor Matthuis:
all I find that he has stated in his campaign speech and his answers to questions is that the reason you should vote for him is solely because of his endorsement levels and his high level connections to foreign governments.

To be frank that really isn't what I said at all.

So, for clarity, could you please repeat what you did say? :bunny: :noangel:

To keep it short:

-Trustworthiness
-Loyalty
-Security
-Experience in other regions
-Experience as Vice Delegate
-High influence level
-High activity levels
-Dedication to The North Pacific
-New ideas and projects

That's a lot of reasons that Dalimbar decided to omit in his attempt at negative campaigning.
