Playtesters Wanted for New Multiplayer Online Game

If you like Nation States, you might like Nations and Empires(tm). It has a very similar premise to Nation States in that you get to rule a nation. However, in Nations and Empires(tm), you can do much, much more than in Nation States.

The game can be almost as simple as the game Nation States where all you do is review the issues once a day and pick from among several choices of actions you may take. In Nations and Empires(tm), your advisors will ask you to make decisions and they will suggest several options for you to chose from. If you do not want the game to be any more complicated than that, it won't be. But if you want more from the game, you can have it. The game has extremely realistic and detailed political, economic and military simulation components.

You can access all this if you want to. For example, you don't have to choose only among the options your advisors suggest. If you don't like any of their proposed solutions to a problem, you can make up any proposed solution you can think of and choose that option instead. Also, you can get a new advisor if you don't like the advice the old one has been giving you. Or you can have more than one advisor. And you don't have to wait for your advisors to bring an issue to your attention. You can take action on any issue you can think of at any time.

Nations and Empires(tm) has these features that Nation States does not have:

* You will be able to see your nation on a map that shows the other nations
* You can wage war on other nations, conquer them and build an empire
* You can develop new technology (because of this, the game begins at a medieval technology level, but it is expected to progress to technologies found only in science fiction)
* Instead of a United Nations that nations may join, all nations begin as provinces of an empire, but you can immediately declare independence from the empire. Or you can take over the empire
* Nations may be controlled by a team of players with each one holding a different position in the government or nations may be controlled by just one player
* Role playing interactions among players can affect the outcome of the game
* You can assassinate or overthrow rulers of other nations that you don't like

Starting Scenario

The standard starting scenario is to begin as the governor of a province of the crumbling Zekresh Empire. The Empire is currently ruled by the Emperor Cledman VI, who is 74 years old, slightly senile, often drunk and thoroughly corrupt.

The people of your province are a nation that has long been ruled by the Zekresh Empire, but are now dreaming of independence and freedom. If you wish, your first move can be to declare your province an independent nation, change its name to whatever you want your nation to be called, and cut all ties to the Zekresh Empire. The empire is so decadent, corrupt, incompetent and weak that they are unlikely to send troops to try to bring you back into the empire. If they do, most Zekresh generals will order their troops to stop attacking you if you pay them a reasonable bribe. On the other hand, you may not wish to declare independence right away. You can build up your strength first as a province of the empire. Or, you can remain in the empire and attempt to take it over, make yourself the emperor and implement reforms to change the empire from its current pathetic state into whatever you want it to be. And you can change the name of the empire, too.

Playtesters Wanted

The game Nations and Empires(tm) is designed to be a multiplayer online game ultimately involving thousands of players. In its final form, there will probably be a fee to play the game, but we are looking for eighty one players to try it for free as "playtesters". Playtesters play the game and report any problems they notice to the game developers. The game developers then attempt to correct the problems and playtesting resumes. This goes on until the game developers think that the game is ready to be released or sold to the public.

The name "Nations and Empires" is a trademark and the game itself is copyrighted. The name of the company developing the game is being kept confidential during the playtesting stage.

The game has very few graphics (but more than Nation States) at this point, but more are expected to be added as game development continues. Some elements of the game are automated via computer software and others are run manually by game administrators.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer playtester for Nations and Empires(tm), please send an e-mail to nationsandempires@yahoo.com.

Former English Colony,

I have not noticed any of my posts being deleted from anywhere and this is the first I have heard that anyone objects to any of them. It's not clear to me why they would be offensive. I'm not just spamming the world or something.

I have posted a notice in one other regional forum where they had a special section for "Other Games" and I got a favorable and very enthusiastic response.

I didn't see any section for "Other Games" here in the North Pacific, but this "Games and Arts" section seemed appropriate.

I am playing Nation States and my nation is a member of the North Pacific Region and has been since I started playing. Are you sure this is an inappropriate post? Is so, whY?

AFAIK, the only problem with your posts on the jolt forum is that the Admins don't like ads for rival games.

Misery guts!

I've had enough of it, johnny Admin with their ban buttons. I say we go for forum strike!

*Namyeknom cruises in the land of cheap quotations...

Your post here is fine. FEC is also a Forum Moderator for the NationStates Jolt forums, so was simply commenting on the fact that you continued to advertise the game after your posts had been deleted on Jolt. You may not be aware of it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they got deleted there. It'd be similar to advertizing Pepsi on the Coca-Cola webpage.

Thanks for pointing this out, and welcome to The North Pacific forums.
