Daimaiena for Minister of Defence

Daimiaena

TNPer
Daimiaena hereby announces it's intention to run for the position of Minister of Defence....

I have served in the North Pacific Army for as long as I have been in The North Pacific.....
And for the last ministerial term I have been Deputy Minister of Defence....

I believe in the defensive power that the NPA is known for throughout NS......
Over the last six months it has become ever more active....Trying out many new tactics and strategies....including the massive multiforce liberation of The Stronghold....

I would continue with these advances....and also focus on recruiting to further build up our numbers.......and make a more formalised training available at the academy.....

Forwards through strength.....

Lt.General Daimiaena....DMoD...

Actually, I don't think the constitution prevents anyone from running for more than one position. Of course, if Daimiaena was to be elected to both, one of the positions would have to be resigned immediately.

Now for questions...

The recent joint NPA/other defender groups liberation of The Stronghold was described by some as poorly executed and luckly won. Would you agree with this assessment, and what would you do to insure better co-operation within the NPA, and between the NPA and other organisations?

I wish to know, are you running for Minister of Defence or Delegate?

I will indeed be running for both positions.....As I understand the current situation GBM is running for re-election as delegate....and Rom is running for re-election as MoD....so when I am elected to both positions...I am fully confident that the position I resign(whichever that is) will be taken up by someone who has shown themselves capable of the job already...

An excellent question....Let me first answer that by saying the operation was a great success in real terms....I don't think anyone can deny that the stronghold has been returned to a native delegate....

I think those that reported the affair as poorly executed or lucky were a little bitter that the NPA were the first to implement such a joint force....

I hope that answers your questions...

Lt.Gen.Daimiaena....DMoD

I would add that the joint operation was a hugely complicated exercise carried out smoothly and cleanly by all involved....Hats off to Hersfold and Romanoffia for that....and to all of the various troops from the multitude of organisations that took part...

I think that many inexperienced players may think that it is merely a matter of greater numbers to liberate a region....it isn't...it is more complicated than that....

I think the problem with this and other operations is that those not involved in the vader/fenda game do not fully appreciate what is involved in even a simple liberation....some operations are over in a day....some take weeks....to attempt to lay blame for the length of time involved is nonsensical....and to imply shortcomings in the NPA because of the high quality of opposition (such as the Invader delegate of the stronghold) is quite simply ludicrous.....
I think some people expect instant results and declare operations a failure almost before they have really begun....I'm not going to blame attention deficit disorder or MTV...what I will say is that patience is an inherent part of the fenda game....as anyone involved in our longer campaigns will tell you....

I won't deny that we learnt some valuable lessons in that operation....which will be applied over the coming term of office....

I think that the curriculum at the academy needs to be fine tuned....which is understandable as it has only been open for two terms and is in a constant state of flux at the moment as we try to balance theoretical and practical training to produce NPA troops who fully understand the possibilities and the limits of what a fenda operation can be.....

As to better co-operation within the NPA....I don't feel we have a problem in that department....I think the only problem we have is a lack of PR in the region....something that I intend to change....the number of candidates for PM this term who have admitted their lack of knowledge of the NPA is shocking....

I have observed that the NPA is in fact both a hugely successful and highly respected force outside of TNP...yet no-one in TNP who is not in the NPA seems to have a clue about how hard we work to defend their freedoms....and the freedoms of the NS world...I hope to make the NPA more respected in their own region....

With the success of the stronghold in mind...I think we already have some fairly strong links to many other fenda organisations...something I would like to see become more of an aspect of our strategies...at the moment we are....along with many other fenda groups....testing the waters of co-operation.....

I have a 3 questions for you if you please;

1) You mentioned before about focusing on developing the initial basic training for recruits in the NPA. What are your plans (if you were to take office) on both continual training to maintain standards and member retention?

2) The NPAA registration office (as is) has been around for nearly 9 months and only 6 members have signed up. What are you opnions/view on such an organisation and the possibilities for its contribution to regional security?

3) What is your reaction to the following comment?

We need to remove the politics from the NPA and focus on the its core role, war fighting

Keep it Real

Okay..this seems to be a two part question....If I can answer each part seperately...

A)Maintaining standards...I think any NPA member who appears to need further training would be smart enough to accept another term at the academy..as a student and as a trainer....as one of the best ways to learn is to teach....

B)Member retention....avoiding the obvious double entendres for a moment....I don't really see retention of troops as a problem....Joining the NPA is quite a commitment and it is so rewarding being part of a defender force that all our troops seems to keep wanting to continue.....

2) The NPAA registration office (as is) has been around for nearly 9 months and only 6 members have signed up. What are you opnions/view on such an organisation and the possibilities for its contribution to regional security?

To be entirely honest I have never understood the need for an auxillary army.....I have never known it to be mustered all the time I have been part of this region...And the NPA seems perfectly adequate as a regional security force....as was shown during the last delegacy handover.....our priority is always TNP....even if it means another region may not be liberated immediately...

3) What is your reaction to the following comment?

We need to remove the politics from the NPA and focus on the its core role, war fighting

I'd be interested to know where the quote comes from....as to the actual comment...well..I've never experianced what is termed "politics" in the NPA....except in the very broad sense of prioritising a liberation depending on a particular organisation's involvement....

In a much broader sense "war fighting" is both the heart and the hands of politics....
Keep it Real

Hope that covers everything....

The NPAA registration office shouldn't still be there... It's probably my fault that it is, the NPAA was removed in a constitutional ammendment a while back.

As current MoD and a Candidate for MoD, Dai has my complete support!

I have every confidence that he would make a great MoD.

I'm doing this for everyone, but instead of a Haiku, I wish a Cinquain on why I should vote for you.

I don't believe it's actually *legal* to run for two positions at once. So pick one.

No, it's just plain ILLEGAL. The election monitors should notify you and drop your name off the ballot for either one or both.

Hoar chall did actually PM me about this....I will be dropping out of the Delegacy race as there are plenty of candidates to keep it interesting.....

Any pertinent MoD questions???

@Mr.Sniffles....I'm still working on an appropriate cinquain.....that combines traditional and modern cinquain styles....

Unfortunately though, you are not eligable to run for MoD. You are eligable to run for Delegate still.
