Zemnaya Svoboda- Minister of Culture and Education

For too long a time, the Ministry of Culture and Education has been highly inactive. The last activity of any kind to come from it's noble halls was a glorious collection of propoganda for the Lexi war-- several months ago.

It's time for someone to bring this Ministry to carry out it's great Constitutional purpose:

9) Minister of Culture and Education.
A - The Minister shall encourage the Cultural and Educational arts and industries, protect The North Pacific's heritage, and advance the public information system of the Region in order to maximize their contribution to the region's awareness and social vitality.

I shall encourage the Educational Arts and Industries as much as I can, organizing the presentation of knowledge both NS and RL for our member's development.

I shall endeavor to preserve the history and heritage of The North Pacific through a massive archiving and historical research project. I shall try to work with others to renew the North Pacific Wire to provide public information.

All of these tasks I shall undertake with the supreme goal of helping regional social vitality. Bluntly speaking, the goal is to get people hooked in to our community here. :noangel: :w00t:

Any questions? :)

Oh, and at the same time here's my Security Council platform.

The Security Council of the North Pacific is designed as an entity that is both a check on the powers of the Government, and a body for the protection of the region against outside threats.

As someone who has in fact been ejected from the North Pacific, who has tarted, I believe I would bring a unique perspective to the Security Council.

While I have often vocally been against ejections and bannings, I do not believe that they should never happen. I believe that the government should never eject unless there is an immediate danger. I expect that there will be multiple nations that will require such action should a handover occur-- I am prepared to work to for the rapid identification, warning, and then when necessary authorization for ejection of such nations.

Questions?

I guess this is directed towards your SC campaign.

Situation - Del: 400 endos, VD: 300, Unknown Tart: 280ish

K, so you have never seen this nation before, they just sort of showed up and endorsed 90%+ of the region (which you will know because we'sa gots the power) in a very short amount of time. The delegate attempts contact, and is simply ignored, receiving no response. It doesn't seem as if the nation is going to cease tarting, and is rapidly gaining on the Vice Delegate.

At what point or under what circumstances would you vote FOR ejection?

After a reasonable amount of time has passed after their warning, assuming no response, they should be banned.

If they took a 'very short amount of time' to tart up the region, I would say that that time comes to a 'a very short amount of time' divided in half or into 3.

As in, if the nation took 2 or 3 days to tart up the region, I think 24 hours warning is sufficient. (Assuming no response)

If it took 4-5 days, then I'd probably want them to have a little bit longer to react.

However, if there is no reaction to the warning, they would clearly have to be ejected once they passed the Vice Delegate, even if the timing I described above hadn't passed yet. Such an event is a 'state of emergency' for the region and justifies rapid action.

As a newcomer of this region, what in fact can you us about your knowlege of our history and culture?
I have a certain level of general knowledge-- I know the series of wars that happened, but I don't know details. I would engage in finding these details through interviews of nations who were involved at that time, as well as through digging through old forum areas. In general, I'd try to make the develop that history a community effort.

You haven't been at all specific about what you would actually do as Minister, could you enlighten us?
I haven't been specific enough? :o

Well, I'll get to work explaining in specifics then.
  1. I shall organize efforts to encourage people to post their knowledge in this forum, from Physics to Defending and Raiding.
  2. I shall launch an initiative to record and preserve our region's history, as per the Constitutional responsibilities of this ministry.
  3. I shall work with the Minister of Communications and others interested in reporting in refreshing the North Pacific Wire, as per the Constitutionial mandate of the Ministry of Culture and Education.

I'm doing this for everyone, but instead of a Haiku, I wish a Cinquain on why I should vote for you.

Excellent. Thank you.

Are there any other ideas that if you were elected to the MoCE position, you would like to carry out?

Excellent. Thank you.

Are there any other ideas that if you were elected to the MoCE position, you would like to carry out?
Not really.

It comes down to the three points:
  1. Regional College (Could be University, I just think that name is jinxed :ermm: )
  2. Historical Project
  3. News Network
However, I think I may not have explained 2 and 3 well enough.

Basically, my work for the North Pacific's history would consist of two approaches. First, I would make sure to archive all of the basic information about the day to day activities of the region, as well as back up important records (such as the ministries of previous administrations). Second, I would work with others for the creation of an overall NationStates historical project, interviewing those who participated in events on both sides.

For the News, I would work with the Minister of Communications to revitalize the North Pacific News Wire. I would write write articles and get others to for the purpose of presenting the public with more and better information on current events.

For a better North Pacific!
