Equilism Declares Martial Law

The Luna Ledger is a glossy, super-slick broadsheet publication of Alpha Omega, a prefecture of The Meritocracy. While affiliated with, and closely connected to, InterMet the two ought not to be confused. The Luna Ledger is edited by the Senator from Scandinavian Duchies I.

Sometimes a region eneds to be shocked into activity.

I must admit I did that tactic when I took back the founder nation of The Exodus. And it has worked for us. I gave the founder nation back after a week or so.

Well, I thought Equilism was already dead, so.....might have been some justification for this.

Do they still have their arcade? Best thing the ADN ever did, that arcade. :P

Nicely done. Although I'm afraid I must agree with TGR for once.

I don't find this article boring, I find it upsetting. It does look like a pattern, region after region turning to tyranny.
Maybe it is time you saw the light. Tyranny is the cool thing to do.
All the cool kids are doing.

Do the Inquisition!

But, semi-seriously, couldn't he have picked a different title than "Grand High Inquisitor" for that one dude? For creative purposes? Like, "Minister of Shadows" or something. (someone better get that)

That isnt a revolution that is simply the founder of a region taking pro-active action.

You cannot revolt when you hold the highest position in the land already.

I say good luck to him

Awww Hersfold, we agreed on something? Next thing you know, you'll be joining The Lexicon...

I wouldn't worry too much Hersfold, most people would agree that it's pretty desperate to have to pull this to get people talking about you.

Most people would agree... except a member of your High Council it would appear.

Well, technically, Fulhead is a Founder rather than a High Councillor but I guess it is up to him what he thinks. Technically though, he is correct, it isn't a revolution - I just happen to think it's been done before and they should have thought of a better way to get interest in their region.

From what I have seen in other regions (including TWP) such shock tactics do manage to give a temporary spike in forum activity, but they do not make for long term activity or growth. Rather, formerly active people get pissed off and leave, and are not replaced in anything like the same way by new people joining.

You Ladies and Gentlemen seem to be forgetting what happens when the people of the region agree that it's the best form of government for the times. Perhaps this is not a shock tactic, but rather a true move toward a more practical and vital government structure.

Totalitarian regimes are only bad things when they have ill effects.

Increased activity and interest, re-alignment and revitalization of foreign affairs, active discussion and debate are all good things. And even a bit of vocal opposition to give people something to be grateful for and to keep the interest high for establishing the regime is a good thing.

Doesn't everyone need an inquisition now and then? :noangel:

Not an inquisition fan, too cliched.

Now, "The Priests of Syrinx" I could get behind.

But to get sort of serious again, I agree that a totalitarian government isn't inherently bad, and there is a point to the argument that the founder throwing out the government isn't exactly a revolution.

Still, no one answered my earlier question. Is the arcade ok?
