The Founder's Declaration

Citizens of Equilism,

I come before you today during a time of crisis, in the office of regional Founder. As our discussions concerning relations with The Pacific has shown, we are in need of change. When I ran for Prime Minister this past election, I stated that I still believed that the region is strong. And I continued to believe that through the first few weeks of this term of office. I had high hopes that reorganization and reform would set us back on the path to greater activity and reposition us interregionally. However, while RL sidelined my activity here for a few weeks, I saw that the slack wasn’t picked up. The region and it’s government fell asleep. It has failed us. We cannot survive that level of inactivity, and our institutions do not provide the means to remedy the situation without further silent debate that goes down a road to no where.

I have always stood behind Equility's vision for the region. In his vision, Equilism is a living region, that will and should change as needed. We stood down from the power of the Chief Executive and set the region off to rule itself. This allowed others to further lead and develop the region. We had agreed, however, that in the event there was no candidate for one of the CE offices, we would step back up to return and guide the region again.

Equility became inactive over a year ago, and co-founder Ostendt mearly visits once every few months. Therefore, effective immediately, I am claiming full control and foundership of the region. We can wait for Equility's return no longer. We need a solid foundership and leadership. I claim full authority as regional founder. We need a change.

We need leadership with purpose. Leadership that ensures the survival and progress of the region.

In recognition of the situation our region faces, and the intransigence of some that wish to cling to the past – preventing us from moving into a dynamic future - I am declaring Equilism under Martial Law. As a result of this declaration, I have taken the following steps.

1. Those members of the government that stand in the way of our survival and progress, have been purged from the region. While there has been some debate and contention between members of the government publically, those contentions have been much more heated in private chambers.

2. The Constitution of the Commonwealth of Equilism and all existing laws are hereby declared void and of no effect.

3. All Embassies and Alliances are hereby suspended, pending further review.

4. Incitement or Conspiracy against the region shall be considered a Capital offense.

5. All Officials shall be required to sign an Oath of Alliegence to the Region and the Founder.

6. As Chauce has shown a keen grasp of the crisis we now face, I appoint him to serve the region as Consul of Laws and Imperial Inquisitor, and shall sit in judgement upon those that would bring harm to the region. The Grand High Inquisitor shall have full authority to pass judgement as he sees fit, and may establish whatever investigative office is needed to ensure swift and sure justice in the region.

7. As Tse has expressed her unwavering support for the future of Equilism, she will remain as a forum Admin. Noot's recent announcment makes the need for his removal as admin unneccessary.

We will move forward. We will create the future together. Over the next few days, I will be forming a new government. No preference will be given to nations old or new in the new government. What matters is results. Title, position, and authority shall be granted to those that merit such a boon, through their consistant activity and results oriented approach. Officials in the new government that fail to perform will be replaced by decree. Anyone who may be interested in a position in the new government is urged to contact me via pm. Also, a new representative body of the people will also be formed.

The new government that I will present to the region will guide us through the present into a new future, with respect to the past that is behind us. It is a new age in Equilism, and the future is ours to claim.

Given the clause I have bolded above, and given the oath signed by the constitutional government of the region, where we recognised that government as legitimate, I feel we ought to suspend the Equilism embassy, pending OUR decision as well as Westwinds.

By the way, they are also in breech of the 30 day activity clause in the agreement.

Friends of Equilism,

Earlier today, an insurgent faction within the region's government seized power in an orchestrated coup against the democratically elected government of the region. In a preemptive measure, the government censured the accounts of myself, Foreign Minister Kertbeny, and Interior Minister Tycholand. All three of us were ejected and banned from the region that we have served for over two and a half years.

The government has gone into martial law, with all voting suspended, the Constitution replaced by a tyrannical charter, and the new illegitimate government headed by a group of three to four individuals who conspired to destroy Equilism's democratic values.

In this time of great crisis, as the legitimate leader of the Commonwealth of Equilism, I am hereby asking you to maintain your embassy with Equilism as it was. I only ask that you allow the sovereign government of the region'a government in exile that is forming as I speak, to maintain control of the embassy.

Equilism has proudly served alongside you through the trials and travails of NS through the years. I ask only that you now honor that commitment in Equilism's great hour of need and simply let the true government of Equilism retain possession of its embassies and lend your firmest support throughout the coming weeks.

The GiE has also asked for an embassy. I'd be disinclined to go that far as its not like they have a chance in hell of achieving anything (considering Westwind controls the founder nation and is the forum admin).
 
If the GIE founds a region, then they can go through the process of asking for a consulate etc same as everyone else.

Until then, we only offer embassies to REGIONS, not factions. They claim to represent Equilism? Fine - there is an embassy for that region; but it is closed.
 
My few words on this issue:

Governments in NS can never last. Things will happen and cause a group of people to overthrow an existing gov't. More often than not those in control of this new gov't stay in power or in some form of pwer if a compramise is made. Its just a part of the game we have to deal with. When the person in charge of this coup is the region's founder than they are guarenteed power as long as new nations continue to move into the region.
