Inquisition Active in The Pacific

FRANCOGRAD, THE PACIFIC: The recently formed Ordo Hereticus is currently experiencing a flurry of activity in its quest to root out heretics and insurgents in The Pacific. In addition to keeping watch of the RMB and the regional forum, two inquisition trials have been wrapped up this week.
The trial of former PRP Provincial Governor Helvetiklande, which commenced October 4th, 2006, brought light to disturbing evidence leading to the accused being convicted of High Treason and Heresy, among other crimes. While the proceedings did close with the proper punishment being laid against the heretic, the Counsel for the accused, John Ashcroft Land, attempted to disrupt the trial several times while providing very horribly doctored IRC logs, as well as attempting to use a Chewbacca to prove his point in the proceedings. Such publicity stunts obviously hindered his client more than helped. Evidence against Helvetiklande included verified IRC logs provided by Senator Karpathos, which details a conversation between JAL and Helvetiklande regarding the latter’s contempt for the government, discussing possible strategies and means to overthrow the said government, as well as insulting Senators in the government. These actions and evidence forced the Inquisition Tribunal to sentence Helvetiklande to the maximum penalty, Death by Burning.
Following the trial, the penalty needed to be applied against the heretic. In the District of the Fatherland, citizens from across the region, most notably Emperor Pierconium, were present for the event. Before the purification of the soul commenced, Emperor Pierconium asked “Do you, Helvetiklande, heretic on The Pacific, wish to repent and save your immortal soul even as your flesh burns?” After jeering from the crowds and his apparent inability to speak, he was asked again by the Emperor. He answered nobly that “I pledge my soul to The Pacific and repent of my sins against its Emperor!” The Emperor then commenced the process of the purification of the soul by lighting the pyre. The process was finished when the Black Cardinal Lord said a prayer for the heretic.
Even after the trial of the first heretic, another case was uncovered. A relatively new resident, who goes by the name of Fleischman and Bueller, was discovered to be speaking heresy against the Emperor and the Region. However, this person pleaded guilty, and offered a detailed explanation to the reasons of why he committed the acts of heresy. In sentencing, the Tribunal sentenced the accused to a respectfully light term, which involves the use of the following avatar for three weeks, starting October 14th.

Meanwhile, the Ordo Hereticus maintains a “Reporting Thread” for citizens of the region to report violations of the Civil Code and the Charter of the Ordo Herticus. This has proven to be a very successful program, keeping an active eye on not only persons who wish to destroy the fabrics of our society, but also those who have no respect or civility what so ever. And they claim that the NPO are the bad guys…
