This post will be edited later, as right now I'm short on time.
But fellow members of The North Pacific, tell me, how do you really feel about the speed of the Regional Assembly? Do you think that it's a fast, efficient, and responsive body of law that can create legislation to meet the challenges of our region?
Or is it this thing that requires so much time to pass a war powers act that by the time it shows up the most noticable and dangerous part of the conflict is over?
I'm not saying that our legislation should be a rubber stamp, but when there exists over 5 pages worth of guidelines on how to submit a bill, there becomes a problem. Thus, if elected, I promise to:
1. Streamline the procedure for submitting and debating a bill.
2. Create a standard format for bill submissions.
3. Appoint committees which overlook the bills being passed and researches them in more detail.
4. Make the Regional Assembly more responsive to deal with the growing constitution and a need to switch to more bill based law.
In short, I promise to make the Regional Assembly pick up the pace, so that the next time the region is in crisis, it can do something about it quickly.
