So far, I've heard from the following people:

Southwest Asia
Alhoma
Cathyy

In a few days, hopefully we'll have a couple more candidates, plus you lot can nominate people you'd like to see in the Court.

Right now, I'd say our choices are pretty grim. SWA I don't know overly well, but he doens't immediately stand out as a nuisance to me. If someone else knows his history a bit better, please enlighten me. Alhoma wouldn't be a horrible choice, but then you are currently MoA&E, and that would create problems of it's own. Cathyy speaks for herself, and I personally would delete this forum before allowing her to have some control over the region again. (I'll edit that if it offends anyone, but that's why I'm posting this in the private forum.)

Anyway, suggestions, comments, post 'em up. I'd like to have two names for the RA within a week.

I'd have to agree with the above. I would have voted for AlHoma if he wasn't a Minister, but, well, he is and I'd prefer to have him as a Minister.

SWA's been a bit of a git on IRC on the past (as in banned from many chatrooms). Haven't seen him for awhile though, I have no idea if he's grown up a bit.

Heh. Cathyy. Now'd that'd be interesting. Since it always seems her interpretation runs quite a bit counter to the rest of TNP's. :eyebrow:

Dalimbar,

While I thank you for your endorsement of my abilities as the Minister of Arts and Education, I find myself more in the position of stewardship of the position rather than a hands on minister. Perhaps I should have realized this when I took the position, but some things once done can never be taken back.

I agree with Hersfold's assertions and while it's nice that you've included us in the discussion, ultimately it's your choice alone. You can accept and reject on any whim. Also if there's still a vacancy by the end of the term, I wouldn't say no to a nomination.

Ok, additional candiates are as such:

Mr.Gaunt / Kitabo, who is active enough, I suppose, but I haven't heard too much of him outside of Security Council rulings. He's sort of like SWA on this, although he does have significantly more credentials.

DD, who would probably do just fine, although he does lack the interaction with the Constitution that other candidates have, and he is a deputy minister already.

Flem, who as he himself said is "notoriously impartial and fair-minded". As I don't think term limits apply he would also do well.

Does anyone have any major concerns or support for any of the Candidates? Right now, I'm probably going to line them up as such:

1. Flemingovia, for impartial reputation and gov't experience
2. Mr.Gaunt, for his credentials and the fact that we'd be getting someone new in
3. Democratic Donkeys, for his impartiality, but below the two picks due to Deputy status
4. Southwest Asia, due to concerns about character
5. Alhoma, due to minister status
6. Cathyy, due to interesting interpretations and character

Thanks for the help.

As a minister I do register my displeasure at seeing flemingovia at the top. I suspect that if you named him as first candidate several people would cry out for despotisim and oligarchisim. I also register displeasue at the fact that if he were elected to the position it would further complicate the line between the Administration of the forum and the governance of the region.

Well then you can convince the public otherwise of such concerns. The way I see it, we're not appointing them, we're only nominating them. Don't like them? Say so in their campaign thread!

I had thought about that, and since there do seem to be some other concerns I think I'll drop Flem from the top two and bring up DD. We'll need a new MoJ, unfortunately, but the fact that he is in the Justice Ministry does speak in his favor, and I have known him to be impartial in many a case. Since he is *only* a Global Mod, there shouldn't be as many concerns about the "line" as Alhoma mentioned.

*pokes* I'm supposed to use the advice of the Cabinet. Plus, I haven't actually read the campaign topics anyway. :P

I have no problems with DD, finding another deputy would be no problem. A hell of a lot easier than replacing a Minister.
